Is Zhuhai a fun circuit? The track map looks boring with not many different types of turns.

Side-note: Has anyone tried Formula X vs LMP1 in multi-class yet?

I think it's great for racing, it's relatively easy to learn but offers plenty of overtaking opportunities. Especially enjoyed racing with the GT1 cars there, and even enjoyed a race with the grid limited to only the classic Mustang in Road G.

Does anyone else think it’s ridiculous to not be able to see sector times in game unless you are in Time Trial?

The Laferrari and Porsche 918 Spyder were so hard to control on this track :ouch: really had to fight to keep those two cars on track
The P1 on the other hand :cheers:

I've just won the Indy 500! That race is intense, I've done the 24 hour races at Nurburgring and Le Mans on Gran Turismo but they're not as hard as Indy, you're constantly concentrating on not hitting the car into the wall, one mistake and you can lose 5 laps or take the car out of the race entirely, you can't even rest on the straights because with the car setup they're a constant right turn to keep out of the wall.

I turned the difficulty down slightly to give a little more room for comfort when lapping cars, this wasn't my first attempt (lots of crashes and a 4th place after 199 laps) and I learnt a few times that a late dive down the inside is not very smart!

Very cool, congratulations!

For some reason on my PS4, with the T300 wheel, the Indy Car oval and Daytona setups have almost no force feedback. Switch to road setup and there's tons of FFB. Don't know if it's a known issue by SMS or not. Hpoping it gets sorted in next patch.

You think? Those three cars are enough already for some amazing racing, trust me!
Offline, I'm having spectacular races. Doesn't seem to be the majority(that I keep reading about) ONline. That's why may have something to do with the amount of car choices.

Awesome track. It's a bit technical, but fun. The 90degree turns are tricky. Great replay cameras.

Not sure if serious or sarcastic...
You're saying it looks boring.
Using the Megane TCR: Turn 1 is a 2nd-gear right-hander, that opens up mid turn. So, I try to out-brake the AI. The end of Sector 1 has a left-right. the left is tight and the right opens up. Again, I need to watch my braking so I don't go too wide mid corner. After that, the next hairpin requires patience, or I'll go wide on exit picking up the throttle too early. End of sector 2, the two left hand 90 degree turns. The first one, I have to slow right down- @nd gear, the second one, is more of a lift off throttle and gas it up mid corner to exit- 3rd gear. beginning Sector 3, another hairpin that opens up on exit. Heavy braking for that one, just like the Sector 2 hairpin. From there, it's full throttle up to 5th gear, past the left hand kink and slight brake down to 4th, for the final turn. Get it turned and add power on exit down, the front straight. Fun and technical circuit.

Just ran P1 GTR at Nordschleife and managed to get 6:28:379, good enough for top 50 on PC.
I guess it’s not too bad, considering I don’t normally race on the track (probably been more than a year since I’ve lapped it last time).

Just decided to try this combo since I liked the car when I tried it the other day and it seems the fastest car on the track (was thinking to start with a slow car and learn the track better, but decided what the heck :)) Fun time and track looks fantastic in VR.

Wish I could lower the final drive ratio for this track, cause there is no chance you can ever get to 7th gear.

Does anyone have any tips on going out with cold tires and brakes? I’ve been taking it as easy as hummanly possible, literally crawling at some points, barely any steering input, and the car will still rotate into a spin without warning. Using a DualShock controller on PS4.

I do like real race drivers do. As I come out of the pit, lightly accelerate and brake hard. Accelerate. Brake hard.
When you arrive at your first turn, crawl, but slightly apply the brakes while lightly accelerating. After clearing the corner, accelerate and brake hard to bring temps up.

The brakes aren't as big of a deal as the tires, I'm already doing that going out of the lane and braking early on the straights and whatnot. Tires, however, might as well be made of wood.

Yeah. I've had trips into barriers and on grass, after a turn on cold tyres. Guess I ride the brake more so that I don't spin out.

Had a chance to try out McLaren 720s yesterday at Long Beach and Laguna Seca. Great car, even though it understeers quite a bit in its stock form. So far, I’m pretty impressed with all the new McLaren cars I’ve tried out. I guess the partnership paid off, I can see what @Chikane is on about. :)

Hehe love the 720S :) Its
my favorite road car in the game yes even over the P1
Plus i'm in love the engine sound of the 720S :D:bowdown:

Overall McLaren cars are pretty great :) Fun Fact McLaren recently replaced Ferrari as my favorite car manufacturer :D

Yeah, I can see why. I mean, P1 is nice, but why drive it when there is P1 GTR? The 720s is more unique in that regard, plus it sounds amazing like you said.

I’m with you about McLaren being a favorite manufacturer. I was looking forward to Lamborghinis the most in pCARS 2, but the selection is not my favorite, even though GT3 and the Super Trofeo are my favorites of the bunch. Hope there will be a few classics introduced with DLC.

Hot brakes will help heat the tires.

I think its very competitive, but i found it way too hard to drive.
Yes that's my main issue with the Vette :( Maybe with a better tune setup it can be more competitive.

But i like doing this versus with the cars on there stock setup only changes i make are to Pirelli P-Zero Corsa and Fuel Load 50L :)

There's very little downforce on the oval configuration of the cars, hence not as much FFB since there isn't as much force pushing the car into the ground. You'll also probably notice that when going down the straight your on-screen wheel is slightly turned to the right and that's by design, some real IndyCar drivers do that so when they're in the turns they don't have to turn the wheel as far to the left.

The low FFB is definitely a bug. I’ve had some FFB come back in the middle of a corner and it was a huge difference.

Also don’t forget about the banking. The Indy cars wouldn’t be able to corner anywhere near 200+ mph with the low downforce they run on ovals if the banking didn’t compress the car a lot just like downforce.

Yeah, it's not like 3 compared to 8, it's like 2 compared to 100. It's like NO FFB at all, like playing a NASCAR game at an arcade. It's that bad.

Yes, I've driven it, I know what it's like. I just presumed this was their attempt to replicate the lighter feeling of the low downforce wheel, something the actual drivers have said is a real thing on the low downforce setup. I thought it was too light myself, but then I don't expect a whole lot of accuracy from this game so I just went with it and turned the Volume up until it felt better.

Ok i thought i give the corvette another chance

The biggest problem with the Corvette is that its sliding and oversteering at every turn.
