I play with a headset as well, and some races everytime I change gear I hear a 'crackling' sound, like when you pull out the audio jack of a stereo or something. Really annoying. Large grids and higher volume seem to make it worse
Engine sounds are great unless you use chase cam like some of us older folk It disappears briefly at times, and the engineers instructions are all muffled meaning the only way to understand what he's waffling is to try and read it in time.........awful!
i've had major struggles getting the engineer to reliably come out of my speakers. occasionally i hear something, most of the time i get subtitles but no audio. i went and turned the controller speaker up and then i heard him chatting a lot throuh the pad. not sure if there's a bug somewhere because, like you, i don't get full chatter from him otherwise.Has anyone managed to get Pit sound when using a DS4 from DS4 speaker to headphones?
I have tried this and get some but not all sound -I get "go go go"! now but not 'in race' commands
>exited PCars press PS button
>Settings on main PS4 screen
>Devices
>Controllers
>Volume control (speaker for Controller)-Slide to 0 (off)
>came out of settings went back into Pcars or restart game change pit to 100%
Think you misunderstood mate yes they are amazing when functioning correctly. But now and then I think it's car/track dependent the sound at the top of the revs range dips out which is terribly off putting Sadly if you are a bit of an old fart like me who's been brought up on games like Out Run Lotus Esprit Challenge etc the chase cam is very important and the PCars one is broken. @Gedi69What?
I love the chase cam sounds. They make me use this view at times, even though I wouldn't otherwise (it's not natural...).
Lol
Proof that some people are never statisfied. Finally , after years of atrocious sounds from recent GT games. PC comes along offer - imo . The most authentic sounding title on the console market.
And what do people start doing... Moaning about the volume.
On a serious it is a tad loud. Im having to turn my TV volume to 1 because I'm afraid I might disturb the neighbours lol. Even with the volume at 1 it sounds loud
I didn't hear one single person talk tonight in a few hours' worth of racing. I saw IDs pop up so someone was making a noise, perhaps I've accidentally done something to my PS4 sound settings but it appears that whatever it was was for the best!My biggest issue i have with the sound is how loud the samples are. They clip an awful lot.
Also, when in a PS4 party chat, it doesn't matter if you turn the game way down and turn the chat audio all the way up... The game still over powers everyone in the chat. I've played shooters at insane volumes to be able to hear footsteps an had no problem. Floor it in Pcars and everyone is repeating themselves.
Then on the flipside... online play with people using microphones is brutal. Can't hear the game at all over them. I've started opening a private party chat with only myself in it to get away from them.
It's just all so loud. Both kinds of loud.
yeah those lag spikes are a bit annoying and always seem to come around at the worst possible moment on track. it was my first proper online session and i was really impressed generally by the servers and even the other drivers.I want those settings! A mute all function would be nice. The lag spikes caused by people joining mid session are one thing, but having jimmy mouth breather shouting at his mum what he want for his tea while I'm mid corner is another. Especially since i have to leave the track to mute them. Sods law, as soon as i leave the garage, another one joins.
Yep I 2nd this, it's very off putting and ruins the game for because I can't hear the revs properly to change gear.Think you misunderstood mate yes they are amazing when functioning correctly. The brakes sound rather odd on some of the cars. I was driving the 1 Series BMW and joking with my brother than the brake pads were worn out on it as you could hear them rubbing the rotors when you apply the brake.
I don;t know about the M series BMW but I know that in my real life cars the only time you ever hear the brake pads are either when the car has been setting and there is a little rust on the rotor or the pads are in need of replacement either to to wear or being crystallized.
It seems that several of the cars I have driven sound very similar, kinda of a generic sound while it is better than many of the ones on GT6 it is still lacking and doesn't seem very realistic.
I do like the way the RUF RGT 8 sounds and the Sauber
We definitely need more sliders for sound. Need to turn up tire sounds without turning up unwanted effects.
Also desperately need a way to turn down the sound on that demo video or disable it completely. I think right now that is the most annoying part of the game for me. I stop playing for a few minutes and that video kicks in and it is louder than anything in my races resulting in me having to turn down the tv or click to stop the demo then I get into another race and forget to turn the set back up and can't hear my car.
Some of the other effects were getting to me, there was some loud sound that happened either when you entered an event or left it that was far to loud. I managed to turn that down somehow but not sure exactly how, possibly had to turn down the tire sounds at the same time but it was a problem.
Some cars are very hard to tell when the rpm gets closer to max and/or they hit the rev limiter where as others are easy to tell from the sound.
All in all the sound is pretty good but less than I expected from what people had been saying leading up to the game.
There is a slider for the music volume so you can turn that menu music down. I moved mine down to 5% so I can barely hear it.
Right but it seemed like the menu music is much louder than anywhere else. Anyways, wasn't really a big gripe for me, just a nitpicky thing. BUT I do miss GT ambient music. For the love of God if I have to spend hours tweaking every car to overcome FFB issues, I'd better have calming music to listen to!
Yep I 2nd this, it's very off putting and ruins the game for because I can't hear the revs properly to change gear.
The game does not seem to have stereo effects, no L/R balance... (PS4)
Placing Left or Right wheels off track, into walls, or sounds of passing cars...
The sound should ONLY be heard in the appropriate L/R channel but the sound is applied to both your L/R speakers/channels.
Test this if you are on PC or Xbox 1.
Want to determine if it is a PS4 issue.
I'm not an audiophile and I'm only using very basic audio equipment, but I believe I noticed that too through my TV speakers and the headphones I occasionally plug into my DS4.
