The DLC is delayed from the 26th January till the 29th January (caused surely by the delay off the 8.0 patch for Xbox One...)

Nope, not gonna happen, even though the sound director would certainly earn it for both his work and his behaviour.

Yet the reason nothing will be changed in Pcars 2 is the same reason as usual: The devs and fanboys alike all act like nothing is wrong with the sound. I had a bunch of fanboys, WMD members, mods and Ian himself arguing with me and a couple of others at the official forum about the accuracy of the sounds. Wasn't my thread, but I agreed with the OP after his thread was ambushed by apologists claiming he knew nothing and was basing all his observations on youtube videos of the real cars lol.

One user had said Driveclub's sounds were more authentic, which I agree with, and Ian came to claim that Driveclub's sounds were jazzed up to make them sound better, but they weren't accurate like Pcars' were lol. I politely reminded them that Evolution's sounds were so accurate for Driveclub that both BMW and Mercedes requested the samples to replace their own in their libraries.

I haven't gone back to that thread since. No doubt the fanboys hurled all kinds of nonsense at me, but it's my new tactic over there. I say my piece, and forget about the thread, because only about 2% of users over there have any kind of idea of reality, the rest are just fanboys and apologists, that are too busy defending the game, ignoring everything wrong with it, and SMS, and sucking up to SMS, to smell what they're shoveling lol.

See that's the thing that's kinda annoying about Ian bell. He doesn't admit when he's wrong. Like when someone tells him something isn't right he always tries to argue and be like "i disagree i think we nail that and blah blah blah". Now I'm not saying they don't recognize problems with the game because they do, they fixed so many things and improve so many things since release but he can't stand hearing constructive criticism when it's negative. Like if something isn't accurate or something, even if someone got the sources and stuff to back it up.

I thought the same until I saw the videos...

Take note SMS:

Amazing sound like it, unfortunately IRacing's subscription service is a joke. I would get it if it wasn't for that.

@Mike_grpA after reading into it a bit I have found that Ian Bell is a 🤬. Didn't know of him beforehand but: http://pretendracecars.net/2015/05/...ers-unhappy-with-the-quality-of-project-cars/ http://pretendracecars.net/2015/07/01/the-complete-coverage-of-ian-bells-canada-day-meltdown/

Now feel ashamed to have supported this thing so wholeheartedly xD.

No need to feel ashamed mate, I think I'm right in saying that we all love playing Pcars. Ian is a total knob head, and he's not the only one at SMS with that level of arrogance, and that coupled to their egos being constantly stroked at the official forum by fanboys who won't let anyone say a bad word about the game, is likely what led to Pcars having so many massive issues.

When the game works it's by far the best sim ever on console, but the huge amount of time the user has to spend contending with bugs and other issues, really serves to frustrate and takes away from the immersion.

It doesn't help when every patch that fixes a couple of things tends to break a couple of others lol.

New patch, new stuff to be found! And these are what I found so far:

New Manufacturers:

Chevy (was teased at Instagram months ago):

Cadillac:

A couple of questions; Have you seen any reference to Chrysler/Dodge/SRT as I've seen reported elsewhere? And was the Cadillac logo there before the 8.0 patch?

This could be an incredible DLC set coming our way...

I've seen Dodge reported on my thread at pCARS forum, no idea where he saw that. When I unpacked those files, there aren't any Dodge/Chrysler/SRT content in it.

As for the Cadillac, it is new for 8.0 and the file is located in the manufacturer shapes. The place where it holds the manufacturer logo for the garage section.

If you post anything bad about the sound and this is an actual quote: "the LaFerrari Fxx in assetto corsa sounds like it was made with a synthesizer." "He's a hackzor"

"Why didnt you saw videos before you buyed the game then if you re soo sad" I'm not making it sound stupider that's the exact words.

Anyways KTM, Mazda and Bannochbrae confirmed by the title screens.

Lol I saw that thread. There's also one about the Falcon, which is so obviously not a V8 Supercar sound, and still there are people trying to come up with ways to defend it lol.

A thread like that would get closed by mods very quickly in here, so you can imagine what the result is going to be over there.

And while I agree with many of the statements in here with regards to SMS/Ian, if you're using PRC as a reference you're immediately disqualified in any discussion. That site is the cancer of the sim racing community; all they post is inflated drivel aimed at nothing else than getting more clicks. Don't use it as a reference, they're the sim racing equivalent of the Daily Mail.

Damn what an idiot. Somehow, on the most vile sim racing forum on the internet, he managed to be the biggest knob. That's an achievement over there lol.

Is it just me, or is there more melodrama going on these days? Haven't had a lot here (yet), save one or two, but over at the PC or AC forums or RaceDepartment, it's pretty dire. I just stay away from those these days, no fun at all.

I've further specified my question, 👍.
I touched on that in the General thread, I believe a couple pages back in there now. There are quite a few cars which, while good sounding and close, aren't accurate (BMW Z4 GT3, Toyota TS040, DTM). But then there are spot on or pretty much spot on examples (Audi IMSA 90, Bentley GT3, Audi R8 GT3, McLaren GT3). Also a lot of "in-between" cars like the Aston's, which are close.

Speaking of which, dat Aston GT12 doe.

PS: LOL at those V8 Supercar sound excuses. Hello @ cc172fccc !

Are you talking to me? What did I say? If you're talking about what I said to you a few days ago, I just said that the car was probably using a generic V8 sound, how is that an excuse?
