You can't recreate perfection
Initial D was perfect and ANIMATED....you can't recreate the awesome drifting in Initial D...I'd like to see ONE person do the gutter trick with the 3 wheel thing or even get a STOCK EG and get it to drift as well as it did in the movie...I've gotten EG's to drift but not stock.
Come on now...if you're going to do it, don't promote it as something that's supposed to be just like the movies. The least you could do is say it's in the same STYLE as Initial D, but don't tarnish the Initial D name

Look at INITIAL D GT STAGE done by toyotadrifter.

Then come and talk to me. I haven't even started to work on it as yet and you're complaining? Somone call the freaking WHAAAMbulance.

all I'm saying is that I think it's a stupid idea unless you can do it flawlessly and last I checked, it's hardly possible to recreate fiction in a reality bassed game. If anything, try to recreate a drift battle that was previously recorded for a D1 competition...those D1 racers in the game aren't fiction.
 
Ok, I've watched all the vids he's made so far...he did pretty good of incorporating the movie in with the actual game but I still don't like the idea. besides, there's not too many night races in gt4. GT3 seemed a little darker which he obviously used that. I still say a better move would be to create your own battles in the style of Initial D. I've also noticed he uses a lot of the same footage over and over. the angles and everything are EXACTLY the same from the same camera angle. A lot more could have been done but I give him props for trying. Personally, I perfer watching multiple cars race at the same time doing the same drifts side by side so if you did a bunch at the same time, had it real D1 style, that'd be dope. that would be the Initial D style. Not doing what Toyota Drifter does

I'll produce a demo vid of us drifting in D1 cars, then submit it. If you like it and it receives positive feedback, I'll work with it.
 
OK, I didn't realize TD was in PhantomD at first so here, let me make a point about this:

TD did it first...doing what you're doing is copying his style. TD was the pionner in it just like one of the other guys said in an earlier post. Don't try to steal someone's fame because you feel left out.

If you seriously want to make a name for yourself, do your own thing. Do drift battles maybe in a different fassion. 3 or 4 cars at a time would earn you respect or maybe model it after the live action movie. that's a little more realistic. Oh, and don't use the cheezy courses with tons of room. use the back road courses that have limited space so you can get the good crash footage in there as well. that would definately be a smart move.

Doing what you're planning on doing is rubbing people the wrong way and you won't get the credit you deserve.

Hell, I should be flaming TD for what he's doing because I've seen the show and it's better than what I've seen him do but he did try and the limitations of the game won't allow you to do everything you need to make it right.

If you're looking to get recognized for your work, do your own thing unless you like a large crew in GT4 drift racing to flame you constantly.

What I was or will do was finishing his job. He left it behind and I'm going to finish it.
Is it "stealing" if Peter Jackson remakes King Kong? No, no it is not. In the same way, I'm smoothing out and finsishing what Toyotadrifter did.

And, like I said, I'll try the D1 thing as well. If it receives positive feedback, I'll work with that.

Lastly, I don't WANT to make a name for myself. I couldn't care less about that. What I'm doing is a labor of love on my part.

Funny I don't see TRI bragging at all...I think it's in your head Ctrip..
 
He isn't talking bout his skill... he is talking bout the leveling and dedication is out there for movie editing

Which is why it'll be well over a good amount of months before I release my videos to the public. This won't be a job I will rush.

It's criticism... It becomes arrogance when the person it's direct towards MAKES it arrogance in their own mind. His criticism is based on precident, as is everyone elses here.

by no ping.. do u mean it just says "Estabilishing"? Because if thats the case, there is something wrong with your setup. Without a ping its not possible to play a game.

Yeah that then...It's always establishing. It ran perfect one time before...But the computer had to be rebooted cause it got messed up real bad.
 
We'll let arrogance run its own course when the video is released. Until then I can only wish you luck CT. You have high expectations to surpass.
 
Im with midnite but if you(CT ) are starting it over again from the begining,im just going to be pissed bout the wasted space
 
Why dont you just do a vid of D1GP style battles and put a storyline to it? Shadow_drifter and I did that a while back, I did shorts with a camcorder of talking from my car (an 86 Corolla), and he did some of talking from his car (a black S13), and then did other shots of driving, the wheel spinning back and forth, engine revving at speed, etc, and then mixed it in to GT3 as a battle, it was pretty sweet when all was said and done.

Then theres definately something wrong with the way uve set up your xlink. I had that when I was setting up my xlink initially, I gave my PS2 a static route, and forwarded the correct port to my machine and it worked.
