Doesn't this game have Automatic Blip or Heel/toe assist? Pretty much everyone keep locking up constantly, especially after downshifting?
Or is there no brake force adjustments?

Everyone seems to be struggling, or preparing a car to get weird seizures at any time...
The Mazda MX5 seems to be only "actually drivable" car from what i've seen.

Gamermuscle spent like 10h adjusting only a couple cars, but don't think his driving got any better, always kept spinning "just by steering too much". Often it seemed like the car had Lancer's AYC control cranked to x10, or something like that.

Yeah there's blio, throttle trail and quite a few others from what I've seen.

But sim streamers must be hardcore and turn it all off 😅

It’s a shame they didn’t just put in a simple livery editor, even just five decal limits or premade liveries you can change the colour of certain decals like wreckfest did. That’s enough to help distinguish one car from the next. But hey it’s got mods and they say that’s even better than any in game livery editor.
It's highly likely that liveries can be created, just not via an in-game editor, but rather by skins created as mods. This was the route taken for PC, PC2, AC, ACC, AMS2, etc.

It's just a different (for console) route to create liveries, for reference over 1,300 skins exist for PC and PC2.

Im hoping changing the track names to real ones is one of the first available mods.

Is there precedence for that in PC2 or AMS2? Or is a core menu item like that not moddable?

Watching someone try to play this on controller makes someone appreciate how good PD/GT7 is about dialing that in. I can have fun on controller and run pretty similar times as I do on wheel I think. I don't think I'd ever consider playing something like this with controller. I feel like I had a similar feeling when I bought PC2 for PS4 just for fun long after I already had it on PC. Only played it like twice lol

Here's the screen with the settings. In auto blip, you have authentic mode or forced on mode.

Just asking out of full ignorance...
When you ... load?.... import?... a mod, you live in a separate sort of instance of the game, or the mod blend into the game and is seen among the other original stuff? Speaking about mods delivered through the game menus, not the pc hacked ones

Blend into the game. So new career events and championships will just be in the career mode alongside the stock stuff. Cars will be in the car select menu in their own class, liveries will be in the livery select area. Should be all seamless and lovely.

One of my favorite experiences in GTR2 was when I kept spinning out in the Ferrari 360 on low speed downshifts.

I can't remember how I figured it out, either research or watching real footage or just experimenting myself, but realizing that I think you had to manually blip the downshift on the old sequential boxes. As soon as I started doing that the problem went away. Loved that sort've detail and I had to learn the new muscle memory of blipping while left foot braking.

I'm actually kinda all for the knock-off unlicensed manufacturers that are used for mods and stuff, as long as they are done well. It actually makes a lot of sense on a lot of levels for a game. No licensing fees, freedom to make stats/performance balance decisions based on gameplay rather than pleasing manufacturers, not getting stuck in the endless "waiting until we can scan the evo model" upgrade loop, and the chance to make race cars out of cars that never raced in real life but that everyone wanted to see.

Real life racing is awesome but it's also full of disappointment, from manufacturers cutting support, cars never getting a racing model, to logistic/funding issues meaning cars never race at certain tracks or etc. I like the idea of the sim-iverse being some alternate reality where we don't have to worry about the bean counters approving a racing program for a certain car, or manufacturer politics forcing rule changes that make some manufacturers leave, the logistics of shipping a field of cars around the world, local noise complaints preventing a race (or completely getting the track shut down), and so on.

Like make up 2018-ish version of Group A rules for "compact executive sedans" with a BMW 3 series, Mercedes C class, Jaguar XE, Alfa Giulia, Cadillac ATS, Volvo S60, Audi A4, Lexus IS, Infiniti Q50, Genesis G70, and call them them whatever fake manufacturer names you want, and take them on a world tour from Bathurst to the Nordschleife and so on... I will take that over the same GT3s with real liveries at Spa any day.

So apparently you can't join lobbies that are already running. And I mean, just running practice. Once you start the lobby no one else can join.

This is prehistoric by this point. I can't even start to understand who thought this would be fine. This just kills lobbies, let alone leagues.

Who the f will create a lobby just to look at the screen waiting for random people to join, doing nothing?!

Yikes... It has been a long time, but pretty sure you could join during practice all the way back in PC2. Kind of a weird oversight on their part. Not only is it annoying just to launch, but if it also means people can't rejoin a practice session after a disconnect/game freeze without entirely restarting the whole lobby then that's a big ooof.

I personally have zero interest in single player and am mainly interested in this as a potential league racing platform. Performance issues are concerning, and decisions like this... yeah pretty much confirms I'm holding off until a nice spring sale or something to see how it has evolved/improved.

Wasn't aimed at you 😁. There's a lot of streamers turning everything off and wondering why they can't drive.
I know, just being cheeky

The assists are all there and fully toggle-able, maybe when people start racing seriously as opposed to just for fun, they might rethink their assist preferences.

Absolutely. Seems like there is going to be a learning curve for us PS5 folk, so used to Gran Turismo 7, F1 25 and Project Cars 3. Been a long time since my days of iRacing, AC on PC and all the way back to the OG kings GTR and GTR2.

Your videos have been excellent by the way, been heading back to your channel daily to see what's new.

Cheers mate, really appreciate it!

I've been meaning to get into proper YouTube content for a while now, so following the build up to PMR's release just seemed like the perfect reason to start experimenting.

Glad you're enjoying it!

Ok thanks, hopefully assists are working like intented... Yet to see someone do multiple consistent laps in a row tho.

Somewhat related, but Random callsign fishtailing GT3 Aston with 7 TCS was worrying as well.

Skill issue, this random fella seems to be doing absolutely fine 😜.

@Nismonath5 are you able to do a Hypercar vid? Be interested to see how you handle those.

I spent all of today driving various cars, on various tracks. Too many videos to post here in one go, so feel free to check out my channel and see if there's anything that spins your wheels!

Here's the one I figure most people will appreciate, even if I was wrestling it pretty hard just to keep on track!

Would you do an LMH / LMDH video please? I'd love to see the Toyota GR010 HYBRID in particular and how you handle the cold tyres.
I've seen a couple of short videos so far but people struggle with the lack of tyre-warmers.

That is certainly doable in most PC titles, it's commonly done for car model names for example. The bigger question is if it will be position via mods on console.

Stuff like this is basically just a text line in a file.

Edit: I have just seen post above with xbox achievements not working with digital codes :banghead: re (Why no Xbox early previews).

Random Callsign video on the pc version, which was already taken down, was pretty negative as well.

Tread with caution

He seemed to have a lot of issues that others haven't had. Took him an hour to actually get in to the game.

I can give it a try!

Tomorrow afternoon is pretty free for me, so if anyone else has any car requests, feel free to drop me a message 👍

What's your experience with the AI? Are they fun to race with?

To be fair, he got the game 15 minutes before the embargo lift. We don't know how were the other drivers setting up experience which had the build days in advance.

He was pretty negative on the single player aspect and AI, and the way some cars drive. I think this has been said by many people as well. He also had issues with performance, which again has been voiced by others. I wouldn't say what Random said was anything different, maybe just worded a bit harsher, which I'm guessing, given he took out the video, should only be said after Tuesday.
