Are you playing with a wheel, or a controller?

Wheel and simple rig.

My issue is going to be, as a PS4PRO user, to play PMR I have to buy a PS5. I'm not reading much that makes ponying up $500 to play ONE game (that still appears to be in beta) good financial sense.

Most of the issues with PMR seem to be old friends (!) from PC2, and that game didn't get CLOSE to fixed for TWO YEARS after launch. I decided to skip the first year of PC2 (I was running GT6 on a PS3 until they shut the servers) and still had to deal with bugfix after bugfix for yet another year.

I'm not getting the vibe that PMR is going to receive that degree of attention. But feel free to prove me wrong, PMR!

I'm no kid, so have no really urgent need that the latest cars and liveries are up to date, and yes, the few new tracks would be great, but I would have to lose so many to gain so few. Maybe my previous strategy will work here. Wait a year...

I guess by then we'll see if PMR development is ongoing or has been abandoned.

I get it now alright, it's a big ask to spend that much money for one game alright.
That said though, the PS5 is a lot more powerful than a PS4 Pro and you'll get the benefits of running your PS4 titles on it I'd say.

The last couple of updates have really improved the game, and this next promises even more.

I only sim race, and I only really like playing one game. As every game seems to have radically different physics, FFB etc, multiple games just end up confusing your technique and diluting your focus.

Apparently PC2 runs poorly on the PS5 (graphics issues), definitely not as well as on my PS4Pro. So zero upside to a PS5 atm...

When PMR is acknowledged as being all around better than PC2 (particularly the size of the online player base), that's the day I migrate.

Let's hope v2.0 forces my hand!

I hadn't heard that about PCars 2 tbh, that's disappointing.
I was actually looking forward to firing it back up again and having a go on it.
I was hoping it was actually going run better with the extra power. Typical!

Definitely agree, i play multiple simracing games and whenever I switch between them, it always takes me a minute to adjust to that game's physics, ffb, etc. Also, I play PC2 on ps5 and never had any issues. Hopefully update 2.0 will improve the game much further.

Pmr online is dead basically, unless they put it on a huge discount, 2.0 won't change the situation

The problem is that you can't join lobbies once they've stated and the game only shows lobbies that haven't started yet.
It's not a great system and it gives the impression that people aren't playing when in fact, they are.

So it does work ok?
Is there any chance you could share some settings for me to try please?
I might download it tonight for the craic.

Honestly, PS5 isn't worth it even when I own one. Yes it looks prettier, yes it loads faster but there is no huge leap. Games don't really seem to get the performance out of the PS5 and so many games are in a completely unfinished state or are remasters. That said, I really like PMR since it offers great variation but I still like Driveclub more 🤣

I think you should hold on your ps4 for one more year and then pick up the racegames you like during a sale🤷

Sorry this was a message for @Fossilized

Do you mean like visual settings or ffb settings?

Either or, I actually just used Google Ai there and it gave me some detailed settings to try.
They're probably crap but they might be a decent starting point.
I'm gonna give them a go anyway.
Okay, here we go (deep breath)
Visual settings:
-Graphics bias: enhanced resolution
-post-processing filters: on
-exterior sun flare: full
-interior sun flare: subtle
bloom: on
heat haze: on
exposure compensation: 1.00
Vignette: yes
Crepuscular rays: yes
cockpit mirrors: on

ffb settings: (I have a T-GT 2, so you might have to adjust depending on the wheel you're using)
-steering sensitivity: 70 (I only set this high to help make the cars more responsive, but you can adjust to your preference)
-flavour: raw
-Gain: 60-85
-volume: 40-51
Tone: 50
FX: 30
Again, you might have to adjust ffb depending on your wheel, but I find this to be a good base to balance all the settings in the game. Hope this helps!

I know that was a huge effort!
You're a gentleman, I'm going to try them out tomorrow evening for sure.
Thank you very much.

I've noticed that in Porsche 992 cup races, the AI cars will either pit on lap 8 or lap 9. I'm running 10 lap races so I don't know why they are pitting.
