No fun allowed, this is a serious hardcore sim.
Ahhh, I get it. “No fun allowed”=fun police=Safety Cars soon to be revealed.

We’ll keep that one hush hush from the rest of the members.

These are so funny posted back-to-back.

I'm not knocking anything but the lighting here, to be clear! But Ian Bell proclaiming he knows better than the entire rest of the video game industry how to model lighting, and then this trailer where the cars seem pretty much to be their own glowing light sources and don't even seem to be affected by passing under tree shadow, is, uh, it's something, alright.

I wonder if the inclusion of the "not so good", when they present content, is simply a way to show full transparency. I appreciate that more than it they attempt to hide flaws with clever editing.
They could have chosen a map where the track HUD isn’t laggy, they could have chosen a car that doesn’t show the black sky in the rear camera. No need to edit anything.

Official videos are suppose the show the game in its best state. It’s meant to sell the game after all... With that in mind, with the thought that this could be the game at its best, it’s no surprise that people are worried about the current state of the game.

Picking up a new (to me) steering wheel this evening, just in time. Get some practice in on some other sims, much needed practice.
About time 😊
Nothing wrong with using a controller, but you will miss out.

Regarding the latest videos I really hope they improve the overall lightning.
And turn on the lights, dont like driving in the dark.

Yeah should be a blast, been a while since I've had a wheel. Just collected it, Thrustmaster T300RS GT with an extra Ferrari 599 alcantara wheel, race line LTE pedals and a next level racing fold up cockpit.

Gonna give it a bash tonight.

T300 is a great wheel, gonna search for you in the leaderboards.
Like old times 😊

Not a day 1 purchase for me. But I'll be an eye on it over the next year or so, to see whether I'm missing out.

I have that wheel and a fold up challenge seat up in storage as I don't really have room where I am now. You will enjoy it, as it definitely changes the racing and excitement in races with a touch of realism.

If you have a long race like 20 Laps, do you have also Pit Stops for Fuel and Tire change?

As we understand it yes, tyre wear and fuel usage are present and correct. Can see the tyre wear gauge on the gameplay videos as well as differing compounds.

Sounds like career mode races will be 20-45 minutes in length on the 1x setting and there's also a 0.5x and up to 4x setting for lengths. I'm guessing on 4x, pit stops will be quite important, 80 minute to 3 hour race lengths.

As always, it's just the youtube compression, right? :D

The AI in that one looks more promising.

Something odd about the steering wheel and the driver hands though. It may just be the lighting but they look almost cartoonish in comparison to the more photo-realistic opponent cars and environments.
