Multiple GT300 champion
So he's actually in the program at the request of Sega (who are publishing in Japan) and has been specifically helping improve the handling of the MX5 Spec, as a former champion of that series as well as the GT300s.

Not really any new info, does confirm the jump to 13 classes over the previously advertised 10. Some nice Corvette images 😍

I wonder if the jump to 13 is including the preorder incentive stuff, GTE and Group 5 given that they are day 1.

Or is it 13, then those 2 making it 15 plus the DLC?

So we either have 1 class to confirm or 3. Makes me wonder if any of the licenses we're waiting for confirmation of (Ferrari/BMW) have relevance to the class/classes, maybe it's a Ferrari challenge class, DTM or something, or dare we dream hypercar?

I think it's 1 left and they're referring to what will be available day 1. 11 base classes (10 already announced), the preorder GTE pack and the DLC Group 5 pack.

It might be one of the IMSA support series they can now add with the partnership - so Michelin Pilot (Grand Sport & TCR), VP, Ferrari, Lambo Super Trofeo, Porsche Carrera Cup or Mustang (Dark Horse).

@sirjim73 very little, I've seen one YouTube video where they use a controller for about a lap.

Keeping my fingers crossed for lmp2

I don't want to cause any more trouble on the Discord by pointing out that the updated DLC graphic has removed mention of Le Mans for the expansion pack. Hopefully just another minor error.

Is there a link or invite somewhere for the Discord?

It's not much to go on but here @4:14:

*And half of it's on cold tyres

Looks acceptable on the early build, it's difficult when you give a gamepad to someone who doesn't play on a gamepad with no knowledge of settings being used or anything. For me I like to make it a little less sensitive in the middle and more sensitive towards max lock (can't remember what the setting names are, linearity, saturation etc). ACC was OK with a bit of tweaking, PC2 I struggled to find a good controller setup that worked across all car classes, to me the benchmarks for controller feel remain F1 and Gran Turismo,

If PMR can get that feeling, being able to be confident under braking with the trigger, confident with turn in, i.e. not overly twitchy, and allow being precise without it feeling like doing keyhole surgery*, then it should be good.

*If any of that makes sense to you then well done, it's very hard to explain how I want it to feel on a pad without simply saying it should feel like F1 '25.

I'll explain what I struggled with on other games.

ACC, first off was an absolute ball ache to find settings that felt consistently good, in all conditions. I know with a simulation, there has to be compromises to make it feel good for pad players, some of those compromises on ACC include the steer assist (effectively opposite lock assist) which seems to be essential to making pad play feel possible. What that does do as a consequence is make catching slides and oversteer moments near impossible as the assist interferes with that, it doesn't do it for you, hence assist, but it does make it so that if you instinctively catch the slide (with the relative small travel on a stick) the car just immediately snaps and you spin off. So the balance on corner exit is very tough on a pad on ACC for this reason. If you turn steer assist off, the car is then just overly snappy through corners.

pCars 2, on lower powered cars, it works fine, after some tweaking again, finding the balance is tricky here, as on higher powered cars it is very difficulty to get a good feeling. Many settings offer the opportunity to have a game that feels like Gran Turismo but rarely have I found that to be the case. It's just difficult to find a balance between unresponsive and overly snappy. I hope PMR doesn't suffer this fate.

And before anyone says "just get a wheel", I have 2 kids and not a whole lot of space, it isn't practical at the moment to go back to having a wheel, as much as I would like to.

I'm in the same situation - no space for a wheel/rig setup, and I don't really want one. I prefer the pad. Couldn't get on with ACC using it so just gave up. If this one doesn't work I'll just have to find something else.

For what it's worth the devs insist it's good on pad. One of them said he plays it using a Dualsense on PC.

Fingers crossed, this game looks to be doing so much right, it would be a shame if it stumbled on this.

This is my experience with controllers exactly 100%.
I suffer a lot from "lead foot" well "lead finger" so reducing sensitivity and saturation is the first thing I do after turning off the music in settings when I start a driving game.

From my limited recent experience with PC3, if it handles like that game with a controller, that would be fine for me.

Ultimately, I would put FM23 and FH5 in the comparison list along with GT7 as they both work very well with controller "out of the box".

The controller setup also works well with The Crew Motorfest generally - although it needs some initial tweaking, once you find a good setting it works for most vehicle types, even the jet (after a bit of learning how to fly  )

As a wheel user I think that PCars3 was even better with pad than wheel. GT7 is rather good with both and it is a matter of practice.

I hope that PMR will also get a decent pad handling to attract as many people as possible. Still waiting for LMP2 being confirmed to finally push the preorder-button...

Hmm, good point. How long would they take though?

Let’s so Spa. 300km race, 7 km lap, so 43 laps. Make it a boring GT3 event, so laps around 2:20. My maths makes that around a 1hr40 racetime. Obviously more with weather but doable in one session.

Definitely doable in one session, but, I don't hate having mid save option, the F1 games have had mid race save options for a long time and it can be a god send.
