Project Motor Racing early preview live stream friday.

Its interesting to see McLaren being stingy about licencing , that would also explain why PD didnt added newer cars from them too
Yeah I'm glad that mystery has been solved cause I been scratching my head all this time on why no new McLarens have ever been add to GT7.

On discord the devs mentioned there could be a mod/career extra waiting in the mod hub, so again nice to see if there are official mods waiting like a nice surprise. There are a few already that have experience with the giants FS mods and are making scenery etc so I look forward to all these mods.

This was on discord someone linked, not sure what they are going to show so might be worth checking out.

They mentioned a while back that there would be 3 licenced car mods available on day 1. The Praga Bohema is one of them but I don’t remember them ever announcing the other 2.

Gamereactor have a review copy so I assume other outlets do as well. Quick impressions and video tomorrow, full review on release day.

I would like to see more new gameplay and will keep an eye on this thread, but I would also like a surprise and test myself on release day before reading reviews. As always some pre-order discs get posted early so these also maybe around a day or two before.

I am looking forward to all the official reviews on Tuesday, I guess there will be links to reviews or a new review thread here or on discord/forum.

The discs will have been printed a while ago so won't have the most recent build on them, they'll need a day 1 patch (if the game is even on the disc and it's not just a licence key). Just something to be aware of if we see early vids from random people.

Yeah be interesting to see what the other 2 might be, some have speculated there could be an LMP2 or something along those lines.

Wonder if that ties in to the career events waiting in the hub as well.

But they're still charging us GT/Forza prices for the game.

So how much specifically are Ferrari worth? How much should the discount be?
I edited my comment, as I said the same on facebook about the lack of Ferrari

I dunno, but if you don't give details after replying, then don't blame me for thinking maybe you're just being cheap. 😹

Did PMR give any specific details as to why Ferrari was not willing to commit? I know they're notoriously difficult to deal with.

It's been hinted and spoken about throughout the history of racing games that Ferrari can either be difficult or just outright expensive. Rumours of specific requirements and whatnot which can make securing them tricky.

Straight4 have clearly been somewhat limited on budget, especially when it comes to licensing as things like Northampton (Silverstone), Derby (Donington), Lexington (Mid-Ohio), Brianza (Monza), San Marino (Imola) would suggest. And a good number of the cars announced have what I'd call semi real liveries, real designs but fictional sponsors. That kind of tells me that there's been a financial balancing act when it comes to paying for licenses for circuits, manufacturers, logos etc so perhaps Ferrari was just one expense too far for them.

Cost example, allegedly Acura charge $50k for the ARX-06 alone.

Could be for all sorts of reasons, but if it was financial, I think I'd rather have 3/4/5 other cars than 1 Ferrari personally (not knowing the numbers so I don't know the correct ratio obviously).

I agree. If Acura wanted $50k for their Hypercar, I don't think it would be ridiculous to assume Ferrari might want double per car. I think it was expected that we would get at least 3 Ferraris (512S, 298GT3, Prodrive 550M were all in GTRevival shots). Could be as much as $300k just for those, add in the 499 Hypercar, maybe the 360 in GT, F50GT on GT1, you're past half a million then for 6 cars.

That half a million+ could get them 12 cars at the same cost as the Acura or more if others are more affordable.

I didn't mind the fictional sponsors in Project Cars 2 but it was funny how one Mercedes TC had a livery option clearly based on the Alfa they didn't have.

It looks like someone has kindly merged the two PMR threads together so I edited the above video out as I didn't realise it was in the other thread. This is much better

Yeah it was getting a bit confusing having 2 threads acting as a general discussion. Thought this would be easier for everyone.
