There's a fine line to be walked in the Discord. The way some people are bringing things up is clearly intending to just be inflammatory and a lot of people have then attacked the Devs who, in my opinion, bravely put themselves on the Discord to talk about the issues. They don't have to do that but they are.

They definitely responded to the radar chat and said it's obviously something that they will work on as there's demand for it. The people who then respond to that by attacking the developers are then an issue.

I don't think their interactions are disappointing personally, the alternative is that individual developers just wouldn't communicate with us and we'd get a media/social media/community guy just fronting it and that be that, 'pass on the feedback' type thing.
I disagree, I obviously don't see the messages that get deleted but some of the recent discussions that I've seen get shutdown have been completely civilized. And then the mods/devs in the discord shut the same discussions down whenever it comes up again. It seems quite heavy handed to me, even in contrast to Forza forums and discord.

Hmm. I tentatively got on the hype train, now I’m kinda weighing up whether to sneak off at the next stop. I haven’t pressed the emergency brake yet, but I’m fully prepared to vault the ticket barriers and run for my life if needed. I think I’ve milked that analogy dry now.

I’m kinda glad I haven’t pre-ordered this yet at the moment, but it still has time to win me over.
Well, now it's time for you to choo choo-se...

GM not holding back.

If they copy FM and release like this, maybe they can do the updates better than FM and not abandon that. They did seem quick to fix their AI so maybe they can get it out of this "pre-alpha" quickly?

Not all people like GM, but I think his channel is the best. He's completely independent and usually doesn't hold back, as you said.

That's the only way to get anything improved. Fanboysim doesn't take these games forward. GM is not always right though, but most of the time he's spot on.

I haven't watched too much because influencer sim snobs are horrible, but it's looking pretty good to me.

Visually it looks nice; about what I'd expect on PC. It still looks hazy/washed out like every PC title.. GT7 still king here. I had totally forgotten there was like actual career mode with damage costs and buying stuff, so that seems fun and new but also scary to screw up a race. Menus still feel a little flat but, all the PC games are. They put zero effort into the UX. PMR menus look like a slight improvement over PC2 or AMS2.

The AI seems slightly rough? But also some of that could come down to the driver. Just like with GT7 (and other games), some people over drive a car cause they feel like thats what people do in real life. So they saw the wheel back and forth and hurl the car into turns and dive bomb, believing that because its a computer it should just be programmed to avoid them.

Sounds seem good? Hard to tell from a stream or videos. Thought I heard an engine sound very synthetic for a second.Force feedback will probably need to be tweaked because it's less about realism and more about what I person thinks is real. So they want it how they like it.

All still aligns with my expectations. I never expected this to be some radical new perfect sim because they never are. This will get better with time like they all do. I got all my new PC parts in today except, sadly, the RAM won't be here til next Friday apparently.

@Apocalypse211 GM is one of the examples I can't watch. He seems like a miserable $^&@ in everything I watched so I "Do not recommend this channel" to me on youtube.

I once got banned from the SMS discord for moaning about no pitstops and magic tyres ( you know the ones that changed from dry to wets out on track ) in PCars3 I remember Ian Bell actually posting ' if it's not for you then don't buy it ' Which I didn't.

This time around I was hoping that PMR will be what they've been hyping, and maybe it will over time. Maybe by the time it drops for real next week, they may have fixed a few things, or maybe the pre release build was not as up to date as we think and it'll be a decent game.

I may still end up getting it but it's not a must have just yet. All I can think of was when ACC released and I got that on preorder. Up to that point I'd been racing on PCars2, and I didn't like ACC as much. Plus it was quite a buggy mess until it got fixed into what it is today. The downside to that is it took at least 4 years to get it up to scratch, so I hope that it won't take as long as that to get PMR up to what they've already promised.

Or I may be overreacting and on Tuesday it'll be great. Lol.
At least it's not as bad as Rennsport haha.

That could be the advertising tagline.

Project Motor Racing - Not as bad as Rennsport

I don't care too much about the AI to be honest. I only care about the cars.

I wouldn't mind Early Access the way AC Evo did. I'm not really too upset that it's not complete because I didn't expect it to be but it would have been nice if they did call it early access and maybe take $10 off or something like that.

This really disappoints me and it points to a bigger problem in the world in general. Instead of just shutting down negative talk, is it open discourse. Man, I really wish I was a developer. I would simply say, "we noticed that too and we're glad you brought it up and it's something that we're going to continue working on". I don't understand why that's so difficult.

Banning people is a little tricky. When somebody gets personal or political or is clearly raging without facts, they should be banned.

However, if a person is pointing out things that are obvious and doing it in a reasonable way, the receiver of that information will always be better off for continuing the conversation as long as nobody is insulting each other.

I've supported these guys and I gave them a lot of money up front and I'm probably going to enjoy the game, but I am disappointed in the manner in which they are interacting with the community.

Whatever happened to working together to make a better racing game?
They weren’t answering my simple yes or no question about Trueforce, I asked like three times before getting ticked off that they kept avoiding answering, so I essentially backed them into a corner and forced an answer out of them and they didn’t like that and started getting smart and snippy. I’m good with a ban. That discord was unreal. And fanboy city too.
