How's the ffb on th3 g923?
I got it to a point where I was pretty happy with it, but some cars seem to feel hugely different in FFB and feeling through the wheel than others.

The Porsche 992 Cup Car feels... numb? To try and describe it. Whereas with the Mosler MT900R, you feel every nasty detail. I'm not sure if that's a gameplay thing or a day 1 patch fix.

Refund done on xbox.

I'm not doing this dance again like the previous PC games from this team of developers, i can buy it again if i see that the game is in a better state in a few weeks/months.
I haven't seen much xbox footage yet at all are you on xbox series X or S?

Physics wise, I think the main issue is a lot of people will be coming from ACC, LMU, etc so when they drive something older like a Lister Storm, they won't like it. Not because it's a bad car, but because it's genuinely hard to drive. That's how it was in 1999, thats how it is now.

As long as you rationalize the car you're about to drive and the technology (or lack thereof) in it, then you should be largely fine.

Graphics are good, will likely get a bit of extra polish in day 1 patch and additional support as the title evolves and all that.

Lastly, cockpit cams are fully customizable. And I mean fully! Height, tilt, fov, you can even move the camera to the middle of the car and do a sort of "TOCA 2" style TV cam! Very happy with the options here.

Sounds great! Thanks.

@Nismonath5 Can I share your video of BMW on discord I think it would be good to show others on there more PS5 footage
Of course! I also just shared my stream footage from tonight on my channel. I'm not the greatest entertainer, but I do go through the menus and test drive a variety of cars and tracks. Even gave the career mode a nudge, until I wrecked the car.

Thank you, added it and will watch your stream later :gtpflag:

Has a photomode been seen on consoles ?
I asked on the official forum a while ago and they are aware people are asking for it but I do not think it is day one and no details yet. Hopefully a patch in the future 🙏 and I couldn't see it on any pause menus or replays etc

How are you finding the AI? They're a bit psycho in my experience, it's my biggest bugbear for sure.
Feels kind of like playing the PS2 Gran Turismo's where you're on their line and they'll drive into you until you're out of the way.

The actual driving experience I think is fab, the DualSense feels really solid in my experience so far.

Looks like there's TrueForce support, among others...

Debating whether just to order from Amazon then I think we get 30 days to return it if need be?

I saw a video of someone who could turn the wheel really hard when entering a corner (like in F1 24 with the extra grip in the launch version) with the MX-5, constantly turning the wheel 180° and setting fast lap times.
He said the force feedback was very good as a simulator, but the physics were more like Simcade.

I'm on Series X so it should have parity with the ps5 version but i prefer to wait and see than to buy and can't refund a day or so later after i start playing.
For future reference on Xbox they are far more flexible than PS Store 👍 even if you have downloaded and tried it out. I have had quite a few refunds on Xbox Series X after trying a game for a few hours and it not playing as expected or crashing/bad fps. If you are within 14 days and only have a short gameplay (1-2 hours of testing) mine have been agreed auto but I had one game I had to use live chat after it was refused and I got the refund with 3 hours gameplay.

The MX5 is a super grippy car by design, it's low power and on slick tyres. It drives the same on iRacing.
You could easily ham it up to make it look simcade whilst the actual tyres are just being cooked.

Refund eligibility

  • Refunds are typically issued for requests made within 14 days of the purchase date for games in which you haven't accumulated a significant amount of play time. You can make refund requests for purchases within a 90-day period, however not all requests will be accepted.
  • For single-use items (like consumables and in-game currency), your request is likely eligible only if the consumable was not redeemed or used. Other digital game products are only eligible for a refund if you do not make or retain any copies.
  • There are often limits on the number and type of refunds allowed and the monetary compensation that we can provide to each purchaser in a given year.
  • If you don't have access to the account that made the purchase, you'll need to contact your financial institution for a refund.
  • We provide digital game product refunds as part of a consistent and reliable buying experience. However, if it appears refunds are being abused, we reserve the right to stop offering refunds except where legally required.
  • All refund request decisions are final. If the refund request is denied, you can appeal the decision by replying to the email message that you receive about the decision. You cannot resubmit the same refund request on this page.
Yeah i know but honestly JDM just came out on xbox and i plan on being busy with that too so i don't want to be bothered with this.

Like i said if i feel like i'm really missing out i'll purchase it again with no issues.

I understand, and it is not a guarantee to get a refund so you done the right thing if you are not sure.

TL DR - fun to race the AI, some iffy moments but overall ok.

Other than the major disappointment of the console grid sizes I don’t think this is the disaster some are making it out to be. Don’t buy day 1, give the devs a bit of time to sort out the performance issues and it looks like a solid game. Maybe not class-leading in any aspect but with the lack of competition on consoles there’s still a place for it (maybe not on PC).

I was always going to wait for reviews to see if the game is functional. I was interested in both offline and online modes, but I've lost a bit of interest due to the grid sizes on ps5.

If the online infrastructure is solid and the p2p doesn't turn out to be an issue, if could be a good option for online racing.

The gameplay i’ve seen so far on the ps5 looks pretty good. I’m just hoping they can optimise the game in time to allow bigger grids

After watching a few more PS5 Streams and it might be what I am watching on but all the base PS5 footage of the interior cockpits there seems to be no glass at all in the windscreen and dials. No reflections or anything, it all looks very flat and texture quality non existent in car interiors where I thought I read car models should be same as PC on the consoles. Trackside details look downgraded quite a bit, is this just the stream and could be different on day 1 patch?

Edit: I have since watched a few more different videos including the one by Justin below and his looks much sharper and better than what I saw yesterday so it could be different streaming devices but overall consoles seem to be as expected. 👍
Some stuff looked too sharp in cockpit like folded paper then creased with a hard object. The windscreen and dials thing… I thought something looked off just couldn’t pinpoint it.
No photocopy yet, no livery editor either which is a shame. Some cars only have two or three liveries, and the Toyota GT-One has none. Bare red is all you're getting if you want to drive it.
It’s a shame they didn’t just put in a simple livery editor, even just five decal limits or premade liveries you can change the colour of certain decals like wreckfest did. That’s enough to help distinguish one car from the next. But hey it’s got mods and they say that’s even better than any in game livery editor.

So they do have it… now. Either he was being a total smart….. or they worked at fixing something after being made aware it doesn’t work. Probably didn’t want to say, it’s supported but not working so took their usual holier than thou sarcastic approach.

I think that’s backfiring on them. People can make all the excuses they want for them and “support them even though the game has issues because they believe in them” but I’ve seen enough from their replies in discord and Facebook etc to know if it comes down to it, once they have their money, they’ll walk away from the game and leave it broken after a year.

I know people like them in real life, they can dish it out but they sure can’t take it when somebody mirrors their behaviours back at them.

Anyhow, good to know Trueforce is now supported. Just weird how I was told it’s not right now but maybe it will be in the future. Not even 24hrs passes and Trueforce is fully supported?!

Left a bad taste in my mouth probably won’t buy it just off that discord 💩

I personally have never understood why people pre-order games, ever. Unless it's a physical pre order that can be sent back whilst still wrapped.

It's good that xbox gives refunds though. I guess I don't pre-order digitally because of Sonys policy. But with driving games especially, because I'm more than happy with GT7 and F1, I don't feel the need to pre-order racing games, as there's no real itch that needs to be scratched in that genre for me.

I do really want PMR to do really well, because I still play Project Cars 2 even now (indy 500, baby!), never touched PC3. But it's been ages since the PMR announcement, so no issue for me waiting another 6 months for it to get any and all patches that it needs.

Developers shouldn't be getting paid for games released in an unfit state. Yes I agree game devs have it hard, but they should only announce release dates for when they're ready. Any trust I used to have in games in the PS3/PS4 days has been completely eroded in the last few digitally-led years.

I pre-ordered GT7. I thought hey I’ll give it a chance didn’t play the last two Gran Turismo’s.

All in all, it’s been alright and had I waited until now to buy and play it, I would be so far behind anybody with what cars I can bring to online races.

It’s a catch 22, on one hand you’re playing it along with everyone else, on the other you’re enduring the constant physics changes they were making, having to retune or readjust your cars tunes to fall back into the PP/Tire categories you initially had them in.

PMR has been a no pre-order for me because I couldn’t find enough solid info on it regarding PS5.

But I totally agree, I wish games would brew a little longer, get released and then the updates are strictly for content and minor fixes only. GT7 physics updates were annoying even though it is much better now. It was all stuff that probably could have been sorted out before they even sold one copy.
