I know his comments can't always be taken at face value, but it seems consoles were optimised for 1440p at 60fps. Citing this as the reason the 4k rain video dropped so much FPS.

I don't understand what he's trying to say. If consoles were optimised for 1440p, why are they running at 4k? Is this another "it will be fixed at launch"?

Makes me wonder if there's a quality/performance toggle in the game.

Where is this SuperGT vid you guys are referring to? I'm not seeing it on his channel, unless its like a secret members thing.

And the 1440p comment sounds like there might be video output options for the game. I'm sure Digital Foundry will figure it all out. If someone wants to test it before then you could probably force your console into 1440p mode on the system level and try from there, assuming there isn't a toggle in-game.

It is on his X/Twitter account:

And developer itself confirmed the "target 1440p 60 fps" on consoles (which sounds will be worse) and only 16 cars on track:

I’ve just noticed that the standard edition on the Xbox store is £61.99 and the same version on the PS5 store is £54.99. They both include the pre-order GTE pack

How strange

Out of interest, has anyone seen any footage of the LME pack? I guess we’ll all get to see them ourselves tomorrow anyway

The AI does sound disappointing, i hope it’s addressed in patches, they looked okay until i saw the Overtake GG stream… it was carnage

Honestly I am kinda sad that we’re three for three in terms of ‘next-gen’ racing sim launches being buggy and unfinished disasters.

The main top class in the game you can’t even drive properly and it’s only hours to release, hugely restricted AI on consoles even though the AI is looking really mid so far and is not doing anything special to warrant such a decrease from previous games… and who knows what other fun bugs and glitches are waiting for when the full game drops.

But this is an Ian Bell “project”, and they’re always left unfinished. Back to AC I guess because AC Evo isn’t worth buying yet and Rennsport was just… a meme.

Completely unrelated to the game itself. But man video game marketing has really gone downhill this decade so far.

It’d be cool in these overviews if they had some brief history or details about the car class itself. But instead we get these cringy posts that were definitely written by Grok or Chat GPT.

I know it’s not important but I hate AI and how lazy it’s making marketing for products in general so I’m calling it out when I see it.

The Super GT one is interesting,
It sure is!
SuperGT says that the cars are super difficult to manage on the limit, to the point he is affraid to push.....and then we have Gamermuscle saying that this game lets you do mental laps over the limit, and even said its one of the most forgiving sims ever when it comes to really pushing the cars....
Their feelings just couldnt be more different 😅

Oh man. I was ready to preorder because I actually like what I saw on youtube. But I thought to check youtube one more time before preordering to get that GTE pack. That is when I saw SuperGT's video. Now I am back on the fence again. :(

From looking at that SuperGT clip, clearly something is bugged. It's not really behaving like a car, more just floating around.

I'm more curious that you're saying some people are having the issue and others are not. That makes it more intriguing.

The RAM for my new pc might be coming tomorrow but I may not have time to build it before heading out for holidays. I might have a little time to mess with PMR on my current setup.

Yesterday i refunded my Deluxe, simply too much iffiness about this game... Floaty handling, cars pivoting/pivot steering, ffb?, visuals, unfinished cars etc.
Should wait for few months.

Looking forward to Mod content, but maybe that's about it... Hope it gets better.

I respect you and am a little jealous at the same time.

I wish I had the discipline to have cancelled my pre-order but I just couldn't do it. I figured they're getting my money sooner or later, so I'll just ride out the rough spots until it's all sorted out.

This team gave me PC2 so I made up my mind when the game was first announced that Id support them no matter what.

Of course, the last minute revelation of the 16 car grid tested my resolve, MIGHTILY

I may possibly regret my decision but I'm counting the minutes till I can fire it up

The mods thing is really interesting in terms of long-term longevity, the apparent plans to up the AI count on console are promising, there are clearly going to be a lot of bugs to iron out but I kinda accept that, the DLC plans are interesting. What I don’t see is anything screaming out ‘buy me on release day’, I already have a full-time job, I’m not available to beta test for them.

I do think longer term this could be really good. Project CARS 2 was a mess initially, and to their credit they worked at it and what’s currently sitting there on my HDD is a what, eight year old game that in some ways remains the best thing you out there on console. That’s not nothing. And I’m glad other people are prepared to be in there on day one because it’ll be really interesting to see what people really make of it in the middle of the two current extremes of Reddit doom and gloom merchants who probably haven’t even played it and cult members people/content creators with a vested interest. It might well be that things really aren’t as bad as has been made out and I might change my mind. I’m quite excited to see, in honesty. But so far, not particularly promising.

What a shame. There isn't a single video giving a good review on this game. I really really want to buy the game, but I know I don't really have the patience for unfinished games. It's not even about its cost and I want to support studios that bring simulations to consoles (I own all dlc for ACC and I bought it at launch for the ps4), but we console players deserve better.

I'm really bummed.

I've only seen the video of 'The Hun' were she starts the career on PS5 and that is the prerelase build if I understood correctly. Looks really solid compared to the pc version and makes you think it consoles were priority. Looks almost like 2 different versions of the game. I honesty really look forward to this game. Will definitely not rush anything and maybe share some initial thoughts as a casual.

Well, i had the Logitech RS 50 ordered for this game and SPEC 3 update; but GT7 alone is not worth all this money anymore, so there's that... Had no choice.
Managed to cancel my RS 50 order from local shop as well, which is great.

Patiently waiting next few months...

Edit: Spent last few days looking for every issue i could find about the game... So i'm nitpicking and even biased for sure, but i'm really hoping it to succeed.
Unlimited Mod content on PS5 would be awesome.
