I'll probably end up getting this game early next year, especially if it comes down a bit in price.
My main concern is how it feels compared to other games I'm familiar with.
Such as does it drive as good as ACC or is it more like PCars2.
I've got thousands of hours on ACC but recently I've been messing around with PCars2 just to drive some tracks I've never been on and tbh it's not too bad.

Another question I have is what would I want with PMR. With ACC I was in league races most days a few years ago but that's tailed off but it also means I end up comparing racing games against ACC.
Or am I being a bit anal lol
It's definitely closer to ACC than it is to PCars 2, it doesn't have (for the most part) that drifty/slidy feeling PC2 always seemed to have. I say for the most part because some of the higher downforce cars are a little drifty at the moment, LMDh, LMP and some Group C. But I have found driving the GT3 cars very comparable to ACC and RaceRoom.

That's good to know, especially in GT3.
PCars2 seems to have a lack of ffb feeling under braking which is a bit odd.
I guess I'll just have to take the plunge and see haha

Can confirm as a Thrustmaster T150 user that the game lags horribly and is unplayable in game with the wheel hooked up.
Might be fixed with this hotfix.

Is anyone having issues with their R2 button not working now after the hotfix? I'm on thrustmaster and my R2 button isn't working (even when I try to bind it to something).

It took a back seat for a few days with AC Rally and Evo but currently sat here a good few hours in after firing it up this afternoon and damn it’s good.
Should caveat that with when I first had triples I was using a 34in monitor with 2 27in and could never get nvidia surround to run in anything higher than 1080p.
Bought a third monitor exact same as the other two and even though I lost a few inches in main monitor width the benefits of 3 exactly the same is profound, can mount the main monitor just millimetres from from my wheel base and it makes a rather big difference in the FOV department. So I’ve now been enjoying this in 1440p now across 3 monitors and it is so good to drive right now, even managed to beat a couple of the times in the challenges section ( is it just me who thinks they’re a bit tough ?)
Currently about to race in a final in one of the career events in the MX-5 and it’s such a blast . Still a way to go and the graphics really are not very good after playing AC Rally 😂 but this has improved so much from the initial release it’s almost like a new game, absolutely loving the driving feel 👍🏼

Wow I'm super impress I just re downloaded it again to give it another chance after the recent update and this game feels way better.

The graphics look better then on launch.

The cars feel better to drive.

And the big one for me atleast is the Chase Cam FOV (Take note PD and add a damn FOV to your game nothing worst then driving in chase cam when the car feels like its 3 miles away from you BIG win here.

The Valkyrie is drivable that's a big plus what a unit of a car it is.

Favorite race car ever just like I love the road car and the AMR track car this final version of the Valkyrie is amazing.

Overall I'm happy with this game and It'll still install on my PS5.

What are the latest impressions for playing on controller? First week of launch was the cars sliding around and rear ended coming around on the Gt3/4 cars which was not enjoyable

Are they better now?

I had my first taste of 1.0.5.4 tonight. The radar wasn't as intrusive as I thought it might be. After awhile I didn't really notice it when it would pop up.

I don't understand why they went backwards with the track limits. They're back to being stupid again. I gave up on Zolder because I couldn't go through that first chicane without getting a slow down penalty. Two wheels over a curb is not a penalty.

YouTube has literally got worse THIS WEEK on mobile. The standard screen with the video at the top and the advert/other videos below - the advert is now >50% of the screen and the video you want to watch? Get a magnifying glass to view it... 😡

No mid-race save? Aaaaaaaaargh...

Little tip for anyone on Android phone (not sure if it's available on Iphone) watching YouTube, download Brave browser, zero ads 😎

I recommend SmartTube. I use it on Chromecast TV but I believe there’s an Android version too.

As for the content that’s out there, there’s likely a Day 1 (or Day 0) update to come on Monday/Tuesday.

Most games get one last optimisation pass right before the finish line.

In fact that’s probably why there’s no reviews yet, only previews.
Late reply but in have found a great solution guys. I don't want to use brave as I much prefer the YouTube app. I have surfshark but the ad block doesn't work with YouTube app, but I recently learned of something interesting. Apparently it's illegal to show ads in Albania, so I set my VPN to Albania and bish bash bosh no more ads on YouTube ap. I have defeated you Google.

Spent a couple of hours today, trying out some older cars with manual gears.
Driving Group 5, group C and GTO Cars with Fanatec H-pattern shifter using heel and toe braking (or shifting)
is so satisfying. 😊
The physics and FFB is great in these classes!

A FFB settings question: ( Fanatec GT DD Pro 8 Nm )
In GT3 class the Ford Mustang GT3 has great FFB, but the same settings with the Porsche I get more jolts and not the same smoothness like the Mustang.

What do I change in the settings to get rid of this?

Try a lower setting for the EQ ops something like this might be ok
eq low 0.5
eq mid 0.7
eq high 0.7

You can turn down Steering Stiffness in the car setup. That's like the FEI setting on Fanatec wheel bases. Turn it up, spiky sharp. Turn it down, smooth and compressed. You can use EQ then to fine tune if need be. Probably in the mids, maybe highs.
I like to find a stiffness that gives me a bit of jolts, knocks and vibrations but doesn't get crazy to vibrate my whole rig or snap my wrists.

I’ve had a good go on this again today after a week or so of inaction and again impressed with the improvements that have turned what was a right dog’s dinner into an enjoyable, playable racer that feels fairly robust technically and produces really good races. I’m excited about what’s coming, and feel the whole story about the lay-offs, much as they’re a sad reflection on the industry and devastating for those who lost their jobs, was probably a bit of a red herring in terms of the game’s long term future and support. Hopefully, anyway.

The radar thing caught me by surprise as I’d not read about how it now pops up right in the middle of the screen. I’m not a fan of that. I can see right in front of me where the others cars are, ta, I don’t think I need that. When you’re in the middle of a race it’s about as welcome a distraction as a big eye floater that drifts across the centre of your vision, luckily I think I’ve worked out how to turn it off.

I ended up moving it toward the bottom over the steering wheel for now. The radar works well enough but I sort of hate that I feel compelled to use it, if that makes sense. I'll probably end up turning it off, I'm pretty much single player only anyway so no hurt feelings if someone gets doored.

The game is definitely taking some big leaps.

I've been playing for about 30 hours. While Project Motor Racing has some technical flaws, it's a game that clearly conveys its intentions the moment you get behind the wheel. Performance fluctuations, optimization deficiencies, or minor bugs occasionally surface; however, the driving physics, vehicle responses, and the mechanical feel on the track often overshadow these shortcomings. It's not a 'perfect' sim, but it's a genuine and characterful one.

Just hope they support psvr2 eventually so i can check it out.

It’s fine without PSVR2. The cockpit view has good visibility out. Just the outboard mirror renderings are ridiculous. I use PSVR2, but I still don’t find the overall driving experience for this game is lacking. The sounds and physics as far as the GT4 cars, which I use the most, are engaging enough that I’m not missing the headset.

No doubt PSVR2 would take it up a couple notches(also depending on what options are available to people that prefer HUD).

I’m still not going to tell anyone to spend their money on this game, but it’s another racing game that shows its potential and I’m fine with it in my library.

Much better after the first update. Like reality, the car improves gradually as everything starts to warm to temperature. I was gaining more confidence as grip increased. The car is more controllable when “feeling” the loss of grip or overcorrecting with the stick. Much more enjoyable.

Thanks for posting this because after I read it, I decided to try it again and I just did an hour before dinner and it was so much better than when I first tried it.

I was not happy to be called down to dinner. Can't wait to jump back in. The radar is a welcome addition but I feel the AI is significantly better as well.

That may just be placebo but I'll take it

I'm primarily a single player racer. I'm not an online racer.

So, AI mistakes is what I love to see in any racing game. It makes it a little more interesting for me.

Well, I thought I attached a video but it won't work

I can't attach the video no matter what I do but here's the link. It's only 5 seconds but it shows the AI car making a mistake, and although the angle makes it look like there was contact with the car in front of him there was no contact at all

At first, I thought the 100 dollars I spent was about 60 to 70 dollars too much. But, I knew what I was getting in to.

With this last update, I have hope that over the next year or two (and if it's anything like my experience with PC2 it'll be YEARS) I'll get my money's worth, plus some

Of course, while I support Ian and his team, they really should have delivered a better product at launch. Not perfect, but much better.

Here's hoping for many good updates to come

Even in a slightly ropy state I never got the level of buyer's remorse with this that I got when I bought, I dunno, Supercross 25 or something like that. It's continually improving, its got a good roadmap for continued support and content, it's on the right trajectory.
