I'll try the steering rack rate and see what happens.
Tbh I thought my wheel was set to 900 in pithouse cos ACC was fine, but I didn't actually check.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, please?

I'm on season 3 of my career and it just keeps repeating the same two races, Northampton and Derby

Sorry, no idea, but did you hear "I Got You Babe" on the radio when you woke up this morning? If you hear it again tomorrow you're in trouble...

What do you mean exactly?
If you are referring to the mx5 championship , that is what it is, those 2 races.
Just pick a different championship, there are 3 available

Can you show us what your career mode screen looks like after you have completed the second of the two races? Usually you click to finish the championship, then when you go to the season/championship select screen, you should have a few options to choose from. For example if you are in the MX5, you will have 3 championships to choose from, the UK, US South and US North series'.

So just double check that when you enter the new season, you have multiple options to choose from. A screenshot would help us to help you though.

I checked my pithouse settings and it's set to 900. I can't get 1:1 with the wheel animation no matter what I do with calibration.
The only way I managed to do it was set the wheel to 2030 in pithouse, then it was 1:1.
But then it throws ACC and EA WRC out of whack, so if I want to use that I'll have to set a different profile to use whenever I play PMR. But of a faff but it's doable

I can't have the on screen steering wheel showing when I use my rig even if it is in sync, seeing 2 wheels in front of me just seems odd.

I tried some different LMDh cars today for the first time in a long while and I don't remember their steering being so incredibly stiff. My wheel would oscillate at high speeds. I tried lowering steering feel down but that didn't seem to help it much. Also the brakes seemed bad. Even the hybrid cars with regen seemed like their stopping distance was too long.

Has anybody had a problem with Group C cars having a dead spot in the steering? I tried them at Spa and no matter what I tried I couldn't get them to go through Eau Rouge at speed. I had to slow down a lot because of the slack in the steering. Trying to turn right at the bottom of the hill and the car just keeps drifting left. I even tried doubling the steering ratio and it didn't help. I tried the Porsche, Mercedes, Mazda, and Jaguar and they all had the same problem.

The brakes on the Group C cars are too good in this game. I should not be able to bring the 962 to a complete stop in 100 metres after attacking The Chase on Bathurst at over 300KM/H. That's F1 level brakes, yet I can barely get a lap time under 2 minutes. The lack of downforce is staggering and there's absolutely no way it's correct.

I did a few races the other night and I have some thoughts:
-The collisions suck and the hitboxes aren't done correctly. They're too big so it looks as though there's clear air between the cars still.
-In the C6.R, going from 1st to 2nd gear is a bit of a problem as the car will try jumping across the track. This means I have to avoid shifting down to 1st completely.
-The car behaviour at low speeds can sometimes feel a bit jittery
-If you get too close to another car in the 911 992 Cup, you will lose the front end and spin out. Dirty air in general feels a lot more problematic than it should be.
-The CLK-LM, Sauber C9 and 962 wander around too much at high speed. They do not feel stable and it's quite disconcerting when you're barreling into Parabolica on Monza.
-The CLK-LM in general doesn't feel as stable as it should be. Through the Ascari chicane on Monza, the car was sliding around far too much and it honestly felt like I was driving on old cross-ply tyres.
-GT3 cars on the other hand are very stable and handle exactly as you expect.
-It very much seems as though some cars are modelled and simulated better than others. This level of inconsistency is soo strange but I suppose it's down the game's lack of funding.
-Compared to Gran Turismo, PMR really lacks polish and I don't feel like it's worth playing through the career mode. I'm not willing to put up with a product that doesn't have all the kinks worked out.
-Only having 16 cars on track at a maximum is pathetic when even Gran Turismo can give you more.
-I'm quite frustrated to be honest because you can have some good fun when you're alone. Those experiences did give me some optimism for the future but that's gone now. What a shame.

Actually, consistency being well, inconsistent is a hallmark of Ian Bell games. It was the defining feature of PC2. Some cars handled like dreams, others were pigs. An AI setting that got you an easy win on one track left you a lap down on another. A rain setting that worked well on one track turned into red flag conditions on a different track. Chicanes you could fudge with ease on one track would get you a penalty on another.

I'm getting major deja vu reading about much of this. So many of the issues seem old friends from the PC2 games, and astonishing that, after finally getting fixed in PC2 (sometimes over two YEARS or more after launch) they are reappearing again as if the fix never happened.

PC2 at its best was sublime. But your next race often was a dog. For all the touting of 'community assisted' there seemed to be little effort to try to get the community to come up with AI offsets between races (just comparing best laps between drivers and AI at each track should have easily given SMS an offset figure to balance the difficulty over different tracks).

There's a lot to be learned from going back and rewatching some PC2 reviews from its mature years. It seems like many of the same issues, even some initially fixed, are rearing their ugly heads again. You'd think if something got fixed, it would STAY fixed....

The whole game looks very PC2 to me. I wouldn’t doubt they just sort of updated it. Apparently it’s all new game engine etc but maybe alot of stuff was just brought over just like how they port games to pc or from PC2 to console maybe they did that with their new physics engine or gaming engine whatever they were talking about.

Like how Gran Turismo really is just the same game it’s always been. However it just keeps getting better and has only recently fallen into a more sim racing title than just a video game.

I really wanted PMR to blow everything away.

It took PC2 a couple of years to fix the laundry list of major bugs it had at launch, and a whole pile of unfixed stuff just got left in when they went off to waste their time on other projects.

So, I guess PMR is on schedule..!

What's weird is the stuff PC2 fixed reappearing. Some lessons never get learned, I guess.

How is PMR at the moment in its current state on Xbox? Worth a buy? I loved PCARS2 although I did buy it around 2 years after release I think - that one still has a lot of bugs and unresolved issues.

So on the standard controller, is this game worth it right now? I skipped 3 entirely hoping that they would return to their sim roots which they have. So, yay or nay?

Anyone got any car/class and track combinations that they’re having fun with?

Looking for some inspiration as i often still find myself flitting between cars and tracks.

The quality of the cars does vary a bit too imo, which makes finding the good ones more important

NGT is fun if you can manage to get races without the Marcos in them, as it just wins by 30 seconds+ when it's there.

Haha yeah i’ve noticed that they dominate the class. I hadn’t considered keep restarting session until they vanish

Although the sound of the M3 needs improving imo,it sounded amazing on GTR2

I've been playing through the career with the 964, I really like that car. Works well at old school flowing tracks, Mosport, Lime Rock, and Mid-Ohio were all highlights in the NA tour. Imagine Donington, Kyalami, anything like that would be awesome.

I’m totally with you on that. There’s something about racing historic cars that just feels right. I still remember how fun it was to push the GT Legends cars to the limit on those old tracks pure nostalgia.

If they can recapture some of that spirit over the next few months then I think they can consider their updates a success.

Maybe somewhat unrelated, but GT Legends was an awesome game. Really wish that game would comeback in some form. Like a total remaster, ground up on graphic quality though not like when you see some game remastered and it’s not even close to the current gen graphics it’s being released on. Game had great cars to choose from, good tracks, awesome soundtrack.

The GT Legends DLC pack for PMR might be the closest we get to that, especially as it's a lot of the same team on PMR.

Not convinced of the quality of the game yet. Probably check it out much later in its life cycle. When it was GT Revival, I assumed that was hinting at a GT Legends remake or homage. But when it switched to project motor racing and I saw the newer cars, and the lister I knew it wasn’t going to be that.

They were always aiming for it to be a spiritual successor to GTR (GTRevival) rather than Legends. All the cars shown off when it was GTRevival very heavily leaned towards GTR and GTR2, the Lister, M3 GTR, Viper GTSR etc.

Now when I downloaded Assetto Corsa Competizione again and found right Dualsense settings, I don't know why should I waste my time and nerves in PMR (17h) and Rennsport (42h) in current condition...

Yesterday I bought 7 DLC's on sale, only Nordschleife and GT2 left, put them on wishlist.
But maybe I buy them even before.

Yeah I know, my mind went straight to GT Legends when I “heard” about it initially. Maybe they can learn from their mistakes this round, and go further back to GT Legends on the next one. As I said as soon as I saw the Lister I knew it was GTR/2, while a good game, my interest fell off a bit. Almost feels like they switched to GTR/2 and then add a dash of PC2 in there. Not enough to draw me in unfortunately. Still hearing complaints about the game in threads so I’ll wait.
