New update:
Well I guess that's probably about another 20 point reduction in AI strength for me in GT4 like it was in GT3.

This update also introduces the new License Points System for Ranked Online, and Balance of Performance (BoP) improvements across multiple classes, as well as general polish and optimisation throughout the sim.

Is this part of it only related to the online stuff or does it apply to offline single player as well? For me personally I hope it gets rid of the one car dominating a class. After 1.6.0.1 every single GT3 race I've ran has been dominated by the Huracans. Last night I ran an LMP1 race and the top 8 positions were all Panoz.

I can't get around to have some décent Playtime since my freetime is running dry every single day for weeks now. Have a few games but nothing I can play for a décent amount of hours 😑 Want get back racing but feel like a novice again 🤣

Like hell!
Falcon V8 runs like boat with Dualsense on default settings...
I was hoping they would make Dualsense more user friendly, but no.

Any better setup for DS?
Agreed! Tried messing with the dead zone and sensitivity. No sharpness at all. I’m floating all over the place and then, just no feeling in the steering. Definitely need better settings for controller.

Seems like the first track mod might be coming this month:

Super GT Japan DLC coming in the end of March: five modern cars plus four historics and a Japanese Track.
Two cars are confirmed: Supra GT500 (the 2003 one?) and the new GR Supra.

"Our first scheduled DLC pack lands at the end of March. We’re not actively marketing it—we know you want us to fix, not promo—but this is still worth calling out: Project Motor Racing will be the first sim on any platform to feature the most up to date GT500 machinery from the fantastic SUPER GT Japan championship."
(The five modern cars are might GR Supra/NSX/GT-R/Z GT500 and maybe the Civic?)

The SuperGT Machinery is going to be superb. Also, end of March update confirmed and it could be a BIG one.

"WHAT’S COMING IN THE END OF MARCH UPDATE

As noted, March is set to be an important month in PMR’s history—the most important since launch.

Not only because our first DLC drops (more on that below), but because the game will showcase a major overhaul across every department: from physics and handling (you’re already seeing that with the GT3/GT4 tyre updates), to graphics, performance; from UI, to single player career; from online to Ranked—the whole sim has been worked on and significantly improved.

In a few weeks, you’ll be able to judge for yourself.

We’ll see you back here at the end of March and keep an eye on our socials as we’ll begin showing you what we have lined up for the “2.0” patch."

Will 2.0 be the game we should have had at launch? I'm excited to find out.

I'm guessing that screenshot confirms no licenced liveries again. It's a shame because they're putting together a great car list but letting it down on the details.

To me personally, liveries aren't an issue. It is much cheaper and easier to do a fictional 'close enough' livery than license an official one with all the sponsors, and their fictional recreations are pretty darn close. As we've seen on ModHub, plenty of livery creators out there to add real ones in.

EDIT: Love how Overtake missed the mark with this comment in their article: "The fourth car is a bit of a mystery in this case, as there are three to pick from: The Vemac RD350R, a little-known car that only raced in GT500 in 2003 (and in GT300 between 2005 and 2012), the McLaren F1 GTR, which would also fit the GT1 roster, and the Lamborghini Diablo JGT-1 all could be the final vehicle of the pack. Since it is the best-known car, the McLaren is perhaps the most likely car to be part of the pack."

Ah yes, the McLaren is most likely, given the precedent set by the game having approximately zero McLarens. In my view, of those options, the Diablo is the most likely given that there are Lamborghini cars already licensed in the game and, at least among Gran Turismo fans of a certain vintage, arguably better known in a Japanese GT context. It also wouldn't shock me if the 2003 moniker was loose, as some of the recreated years have been very fluid in PMR, and they throw the 350Z GT500 in from 2004.

On traxion I read that the historical content will be from the 2003 season.

Therefore, in addition to the Supra, it will include the NSX, Skyline GT-R R34 and probably the JLOC Diablo.

I have to say that that the game was awful when it was released, but after several updates it has improved.
It still has a lot of room for improvement, but it's on the right way.

It's a personal preference thing I guess but feels like a big downgrade over what the Project CARS games did previously, I can understand it being cheaper for the developers and save the hassle but at the end of the day this is a £85 game not a indie release and the details can make all the difference, especially in something like GT500 where the paint schemes are iconic and as much part of the championships ID as the cars themselves. I still haven't bought the game but looking on the webpage for ModHub it looks hit and miss, some liveries are great others are not at the same level (a Manthey one I was looking at was not really a match for the car it was replicating).

Yeah I can see the argument either way. And whilst it isn't an £85 indie, it was developed on a tight budget and was so right to the line that ultimately the failed launch condemned a large number of the staff to the job centre.

Pcars2 did an Ok job in comparison, but a majority were still fictional liveries and cars that had real ones were limited in their offering.

Oo oo oooo!

I'm back in.

I always thought PCARS2 did a great job with real liveries, this thread here on GTP shows just how many some of the cars had:

Great news!

They improved game a lot with updates, only steering and driving feeling on Dualsense are poor.

Hope so they will hear us and fix it.

For having that, you must buy Season Pass or it will sold separately?

It'll also be sold separately

New class Australian V8 (AUS V8 in-game).

Encouraging for clean racing if it all works as intended and once it's up & running on all platforms (needing to be a part of the Discord for reporting is not good).
Good update. But too late. The game is dead. This feature has to be at launch

I'm not at all sure you won't end up eating these words.

I've been pretty critical of it, but I'm also certain there's a very decent game in there somewhere that's struggling to get out. If they can unleash it it just might get momentum*.
The PS5 GT crowd are still desperate for a 'similar but different' offering.

*Needs to happen before FH6 gets to PS5.

I bought PMR hoping for a another option to GT7, and agree its not yet satisfied. I can see and hope for more progress but I find the PSVR2 experience in GT7 to be so compelling I still end up spending most of my time there - Yes I know its been ruled out but supporting PSVR2 would’ve really given PMR a boost

Hopefully it'll happen at the end of this month if that's they're saying is accurate.

I’ve done two ranked mx5 races at Redbull ring today with 6-8 car grids

Assuming you're in the UK, playing during the player peak. When I hop on from NZ, there's usually no-one on, I have to jump on during my work day if I want to actually race with people. The Falcon may change that, with Aus/NZ players it's a favourite, but until lobbies can be joined as spectators, it's always going to be hard to build a player base in my side of the world.
