Given it's extremely unlikely S4S went out and completely rescanned and redid Road America from the ground up (you don't really do that if you were so broke you had to fire nearly the entire dev team after launch), my money is on it just being mostly the PC2 Road America with a few tweaked trackside details.

And that's good enough.

Really, I have quite a problem with the disdain for less than GT7 level graphics, when there are SO much more important things like handling and gameplay to fix. Truthfully, I'd be happy with a game with GT5 level graphics if the handling, AI and gameplay were SUPERB...

PC2 in 4K is fine by me. Yeah, a framerate bump is needed but why throw away the PS5's horsepower on anything other than framerate? Detail and framerate are always in a battle with each other, but RACERS know which of the two matters...

And, bottom line, how would you prefer your immersion broken? By bad handling, bad AI and bad collision physics, or by a less than next gen level of graphics..?

A common misconception with scanned circuits is that developers go and scan them, more often than not they don't, they will purchase the scan data that already exists and then build their model on top of it.

That's a clever launch trailer with the 60's tv graphics and music. For those of us old enough to remember it just needed a, "this has been a Quinn-Martin Production" at the end.
The P... M... R... ?

The Streets of Rocky Knoll?

Tonight's episode... the GT Icons Pack!

Obviously, one of the drivers is a one-armed man ;)

But will the trailer make this DLC most wanted...?

Act I: GT60...

But, do you think it's a ground up Road America, or a reused PC2 model with some trackside sweeteners? It's tough to believe that PMR's track list, largely available in all three PC's, was just coincidentally close to the same.

My understanding is they had no access/rights to the PC2 assets, which were owned by Codemasters and then EA. So it is almost certainly a new version.

If they did have access to the previous assets, the lack of tracks in the game would be even more puzzling.

Picked it up too, worth a go for £26. Aris being on board is a nice bonus because I love how AC and ACC drive.

Too hot to drive on my wheel so played it on pad. So far enjoying it for what it is without coming with any expectations.
Im feeling tempted at that price too... Was wondering are you talking about AC/ACC on wheel or pad? Ive uninstalled both AC and ACC because of the gameplay on pad, perhaps I should avoid PMR if its similar gameplay to those titles... Im fond of some sims, but twitchy inputs are off putting on pad... Im getting PC2 vibes here, I preferred PC3 purely on a gameplay/controller aspect (not a popular opinion I know).

I've been out of town all week. Got back home today and I'm trying to do the update. I have 5gb Google fiber speed. But for some reason the update zoomed to 47% pretty quick but it's slowed to a crawl now on Steam. It's only moved 5% in the last 30 minutes.

Most of the time these updates are done in a couple of minutes. One of these days I'll learn to do the update BEFORE I actually sit down to race.

Don’t think I ever played AC or ACC on pad. It’s definitely more challenging than GT7 or Wreckfest on pad, but the same goes for a wheel, there’s a bit more going on in the physics. At low speeds I definitely found corners like the first Monza chicane problematic.

Yeah, AC is tough on the pad. Feels like understeer forever. ACC is fine on the pad. I loved the downshifting as it felt real. The gravelly sound of the tyres makes it sound less immersed, but I had fun on pad with ACC.

Ive watched a few video's of the 2.0 update and its a nearly game, (I will keep an eye on it) the erratic AI was the deal breaker. I adore GT7 / wreckfest (and motorfest) for their subtle controls married to good gameplay, sims can be a bit contrary and no demo is a mistake. Im feenin for a new daily driver... plenty cool things in the pipeline now so will have to be patient I guess. Would love GTA6 to have some of motorfests catch a slide driving gameplay adding to it. As it stands wreckfest 2 seems the most promising prospect... I will inevitably purchase FH Japan, but its a very short shelf-life never gonna be a daily driver. Couple of races left over in the power pack to savour so that'll do for now...

Got the update installed finally. For me it's just ok, nothing really special yet. Drove the RSR, got smashed by the Capri's. All of the Capri's were in the top positions, all of the Corvettes & RSRs were in the bottom. The Capri's were 8 seconds faster than anything else. Ran the same race again with the Capri and again they were miles ahead of the Porsches and Corvettes. It's like there are two separate classes within that one class. Don't understand that.

Drove the Lola at Silverstone. Will probably have to raise the AI level if I use it again. Didn't drive the other two cars.

Ran the Valkyrie at Road America. It seems a little different than other versions I've ran in other games. Can't quite figure out what it is on one run.
