£54.99 on the UK PS Store. Preorder included the GTE pack. Extra £30 gets the year 1 season pass.
And no, there's still no mention of VR support on PS5 (or on Steam either oddly, I thought it was on there before).

I don't care about achievements/trophies but for those that do read that last paragraph:

This career actually sounds quite interesting. Regional selection makes a difference - less travel costs, more/less prize money depending on where/what you race, ability to do the rich kid playthrough and jump straight into a good car/series, etc.

Hypercars are not my thing so I like that there's no pressure to do those races, I can just be a gentleman racer in GT3/GT4/historics.
It does seem a lot like a single player iRacing on console, which is a good thing in my book.

Judging by one of the race titles in the video - "Historic Florida 300" - there's an unannounced track from that state. Sebring makes sense given the race classes.

(unless it's just placeholders)

MX-5 Cup in the trailer - I know where I'm starting my career. It doesn't fit into the announced classes so it'll be interesting to see if it's a one-make series or they add some similar competitors.

haven't been following this game but just finish seeing the trailer and it looks good.

The future is looking good with so many sims coming to PS5.

Project Motor Racing
AC Evo
LM Ultimate (Not yet confirm for consoles) But there's hope it does.
Endurance Motorsport Series

Hope this trend continues and gt is no longer the only option on PS. :)

Sounds like a money hole.

What are our chances of finishing well if we don't do mods?

I was hoping that AUTOMOBILISTA 2 would be out on the PS5 by now.

"Not at launch but it's a goal for development"*.
Does that count for PC as well, because it was there before

and now it's not?

Might just be an error on the Steam page - I very much doubt they'd dare launch a PC sim without triple screen support

Just watched the trailer and the fact they kept saying "I'd you can afford it" sent alarm bells ringing for micro transactions. " In-game purchases optional" Was maybe thinking of pre ordering but will wait for reviews now.

The wording suggested that it was coming only for PC… since they deleted this on steam page… maybe announcment is coming? Maybe psvr2 also?

I doubt they ditched vr entirely since they switched to giants engine specifically for better vr support.

Looks really, really good!! Is there realism options to make racing a bit less demanding? I'm not good at racing games in heavy racing traffic and damage costs might destroy me along with the probably heavy penalties from a collision.

P.S. I know I ask that everytime, It's just... I'd like to avoid rage moments.

Hopefully it runs better in VR than Farming Sim.
Likeliest situation is probably like GT, VR support added post-release. With a multi platform release it's probably a bit down the priority list at the moment.

Sure, but you'd need to have missed all the previous stuff about the "authentic motorsport economy": picking your financial background, base of operations, travel costs, repair costs, race entry costs, sponsorships...
" In-game purchases optional"
There's clearly car passes/packs coming: there's a pre-order GTE pack and a Year 1 Season Pass.
Sounds like a money hole.
As far as I can tell, all GIANTS mods are free...

Likely pretty high because... the game?

There is a difficulty setting shown in the menus, and the website says you can disable Authentic/Hardcore mode, but the damage avoidance seems to be a main focus of the career. There is a specific sponsor that just pays your damage costs, so you could use that one (but then you'd need good race results & prize money).

Hopefully there's some way they can extend that philosophy to the online racing and dissuade the rammers, but I'm not sure how the financial penalties would work if you were an innocent bystander.

Ok, now we know a bit more about the fundamentals of career mode, I'm starting to get a little more hype up for this game, sounds like it will have a good amount of depth to the career mode which is something a lot of racing games have lacked recently. Day 1 mod support across all platforms is a massive, massive plus, hopefully someone does a nice super touring mod.

The whole sponsorship play reminds me of the Grid games back then. But now it seems that they're playing a bigger role than only just being a minor sticker on the car. Kinda bummed about seeing the Year 1 bundle pricing, which I should be getting used to TBH. Yet, it hasn't deterred my enthusiasm on the game yet.

Pretty certain that Sebring is in the game, but maybe not officially (yet). One of the screenshots shows a “Lake Jackson Raceway”.

Along with the “Northampton” track, they’re not being very subtle.
Reminds me of rFactor, that had 'Northamptonshire', 'Brianza', 'Jiading' and 'Nueburg'. Instead of Silverstone, Monza, Shanghai and Nurburgring.

Yes I understood it has an economy but if the economy is anything like GT7 which makes it mind numbingly boring to earn credits unless you pay real money then that is what I want to avoid. The rest looks fab.

The economy doesn't seem anything like GT7, much like the game itself. It's not a car collector, you're not supposed to get loads of credits and buy all the cars. Not a driving sim, a "racing team" sim, you get small race payouts and larger sponsorship deals to fund each season and continue your career.

This isn't the same as that nonsense economy. Plus you can just race all the cars anyways like any other sim. The economy is only in the career mode progress.

I’ll be up for this for the platinum.

Let’s see what the online offering is and if it’s going to rival GT

Nothing wrong with a bit of competition 😁
