New GTR 3 Image Surfaces, Release Date Coming Soon

It lives. Again. SimBin Studios has taken to Twitter to show off a new preview image for the upcoming GTR 3.

The image in question shows off the Porsche GT3 R barreling down what looks like the Nürburgring circuit. Under the black of night, the image itself provides the briefest hint of what awaits players — but therein lies the issue. We’ve yet to see the game in action after more than two years since the initial announcement.

Time has been less than kind to the third installment in the acclaimed series. To recap: SimBin originally announced the game back in 2017, with a scheduled release the following year. In 2018, the Liverpool-based studio confirmed the game would fall foul to a delay, with a new targeted release of Q2 2019.

Needless to say, that didn’t happen. SimBin is aware of sim racers’ concerns and have taken to Twitter to remind fans that the game is still on its way.

The good news is a release date will be set in stone following discussions with its partners. When that will be is currently up in the air, though we’d caution against holding your breath. There’s still the issue of not having seen live gameplay, which the team somewhat addressed in a tweet this past April.

As ever, stay tuned to GTPlanet for more on the game as it’s available.
