How many cars in a race, and what are the options like for private lobbies?

I assume every race is crossplay too?

Overview sounds solid, basically a more refined version of what I’ve seen in Forza Motorsport that covers the pitfalls of that game’s system.

Man..
Would have preordered and bought all the packs if they supported psvr2. Until then, its a hard pass. Such a shame.

I wonder if Sony isn’t helping these other sims with psvr2 as a way to protect gt7’s status/sales.

By the way, they've jumped from saying 10 classes to 13 now.

Super Touring hope remains!!!

This is my biggest pain. Game looks great now I don’t know if I want to invest on it on ps5 or just wait and buy it together with vr capable pc

PC VR still isn't 100% confirmed for launch, so you could end up waiting either way.

For those who are really interested in VR I suggest you get a PC & forget about consoles, I can't see Sony jeopardizing their own console selling product in the GT series.
If there's one thing we can learn from everything that's been or is getting released, is that hoping for a PSVR2 racing game is completely futile.

One is, however, a lot more likely than the other, and it's not PSVR2 (after all a VR version of Farm Simulator already exists on Quest).

Indeed

They also said that could be adjusted with mods, so presumably could increase for private lobbies, but that’s the official limit for performance reasons.

The website mentions cross-platform championships specifically, so I'm assuming the other online modes are platform locked. Will see if that has been answered on the discord.

I wonder if you don't have enough people in your private lobby for 32 spots will the remaining spots be used by bots?

zjn
ok, my credit card is ringing....

@Fezzik where did you get this?

There are extra info drops coming that will apparently answer more multiplayer questions. Also expecting another big info drop next month for Sim Racing Expo.

It’s very sad. I was trying to avoid jumping on the hype train but I’m now a hopeless passenger. Choo choo.

That “no subscriptions required” is a bit misleading. It applies to PC but on console you still have the multiplayer tax.

Full cross play hasn't been announced yet. Plus the specific mention of cross play cups as an added race type almost suggests to me like PC and console may be kept separate.

The multiplayer trailer has done its job and piqued my interest in this title now. It seems to be exactly what I have been looking for from an online ranked experience.

32 cars on grid is the perfect amount. This game is shaping up to be what I wanted FM23 to be with 1/10th the amount of cars and same amount of tracks plus mod support. Interesting to see that the GTE decade pack dosent list any of the BMWs or Ferrari's but perhaps they are in the "and more" section.

One other thing is that some of the ranked online events (special championships, cross play cups and endurance) are locked behind win totals. Hopefully the threshold is not too high or I'll be missing those, if my GT7 Sport career is anything to go by.

Unfortunatelly you are right. I don’t believe rennsport devs either even if they somewhat promised it. Its just every time vr is closer they are ditching psvr2 version.
Big shame.

I wonder what PC should I buy to get good performance (simmilar to gt7) in games like automobilista or LeMans Ultimate. Currently I have gaming laptop with rtx 2060 and it runs some vr games but for racing sims is definately too slow.

They're keeping the remaining cars under wraps pretty well. So far, 30 something cars have been revealed and that's only half with only 2 months to go....🤔
I figure we will probably get a final car roster about a month before the game drops or a couple weeks from now
