Not sure if anyone had mentioned this before, but £5 per car class as DLC (this GTE one free for pre-orders) by the looks of things.

from their link to the GAME pre-order website (if any devs are reading the Amazon link didn't work for me in the UK):

"The physical editions will include the GTE Decade Pack on the game disc featuring 7 extreme examples of high-performance cars racing in one of the most thrilling and competitive classes in GT racing history (DLC valued at £4.99)."

Seems very reasonable compared to other games. ACC for example, the GT4 pack was £15.99 on PS at launch, offering 11 cars, currently on sale for just under £7. £14.99 for the GT2 pack with 6 cars and a circuit.

So £4.99 a pack seems good value, 30+ cars and 3 circuits over 3 packs and the Le Mans + 2 classes in the final pack.

I'm looking forward to this still, but I'm pretty cautious.

For me the main dealbreakers are how it feels on the wheel and how it performs for multiplayer private lobby racing. I'm also hoping it's good on controller so it's more accessible and some friends that don't have wheels can playing, and interested in how the mod support turns out.

I'm so utterly burned out with modern GT racing, I do wish this had a bit more variety (mostly touring cars), but at least it brings us GT cars from back when they were actually special and interesting. All of the off-the-shelf GT3 cars that are out there now no longer feel special, but just the N-GT class alone here is quite interesting between the Morgan, Mosler, Marcos and Gillet.

Even if it's just GT though, I would like to see some more "entry" level classes, like Ginetta Juniors or GR86 Cup or something. I know there was a picture of an MX5 Cup shown as well, and they are fantastic but would be nice for a little more variety in the lower classes. Hopefully then the people who actually need to learn from them might stick around them longer, instead of just jumping straight into GT3s and wadding them up on the first lap... ahh who am I kidding.

Hey - you're not allowed to use that gif, thats only allowed to be used by me in the Weekly Challenge thread

However, I do agree with what you and Veinz say.

This....
I really want to jump on the bandwagon, and I fully understand that high powered car are more interesting (or less boring if you like), but in order to have a bigger depth of field in terms of users, I hope they will provide cars also in the lower power tiers.

Yes, going faster is more adrenalinic, but IF this is a simulation, slower cars are key to build experience and learn, unless you are a natually gifted driver, or are already at that skill level coming from other simulators.

PMR, if you want to be a big thing, you are to drain in people, no matter the age and skills

I agree with you. I like driving the fast cars but sometimes it is good to get in a slower car and just enjoy the ride. I know in PC2 I have used the Ginetta G5 probably more than other cars. They allow me to really get a good feel for the tracks in the game. So hopefully they will have some cars like that available in PMR

Agreed, but that's where they also need to be careful because it was a bit naff on a controller.
Half true, more fun with the wheel but doable with a pad, admittedly tricky & more prone to losing control but the good thing was there were plenty of cars to choose from whether you got your rig out for some serious sideways classic action or just lazing on the sofa with a pad with some of the more stable cars within the collection.

It really was the ultimate motorsports sandbox.

Flaws & all 😁

Yeah, for some though, the pad is the only choice. It did get to a point with both pcars games where it just wasn't fun with a pad.

ACC did better but still needed a lot of tweaking to get there.

There’s something about this game that looks fantastic, but something too that’s holding me back from really getting too excited about it. I think it’s the GT only thing tbh, plus the fact that a lot of the best content is DLC scheduled for like a year’s time. I’ll probably just pick it up then, at the moment that’s my thinking. Genuinely want this to succeed, though. We need developers doing things like this.

When it comes to PC 2, I'm like those "Just remaster FM4" people. I'll buy this if I hear the framerate is solid on base consoles.

I only ever owned PC2 on the 1X & now the SX so frame rate was never an issue for me, PMR is only being released on the new hardware AFAIA so hopefully it shouldn't have a problem either, but you never know.

I've already said I'm waiting for a deluxe version regardless of how good it is out of the box.
