The DFP is still faster than a DS2 in GT3. And difficult to control at high speeds? Much easier.

No way!

It all comes down to the driver but I'd say a good 8 out of 10 of the fastest guys in GT3 use a DS2, some even still use the d-pad.

why do we like arguing over the same crap over and over again and making the same points over and over again? :indiff:

As many have said, its all about what you spend more time with. In gt3, the break pedal didnt work fully for most people, which is why most of the fastest people in GT3 used DS2. GT4 has been made specificaly for the DFP, so things will be different. Using a wheel or DS2 most likely wont give an unfair advantage over the other. :indiff:

:EDIT: Since its a driving game i assumed many would much rather use a wheel, but i guess thats just not the case. I guess immersion and a more pleasurable experience comes at too high of a price (have to move your arms too damn much instead of pressing a button :) ) :P :EDIT:

I like using a wheel because its just so much more fun. 👍

ok. dont take offense to this but...

Did you ever think maybe its your driving and not the wheel?

or maybe your wheel is not set up correctly, or is defective. :indiff:

I'm gonna stick with a DS2 for the time being, purely because of money. Hopefully I will be able to afford a DFP in the near future ($200 Canadian  ).

And if there is a big difference in lap times between the DS2 and the DFP, I certainly hope there will be separate divisons for DS2 users, since not everyone can afford a $200 wheel!

Definitely DFP. After I beat my own DS2 time on Grand Canyon in Prologue by about 8 seconds, I was sold.

The only problem you have to get used to is making tight U turns with that force feedback motor fighting you the whole way. It makes you feel like driving a car with no power steering.

I have a DFP, got it for christmas so ive only had it about 2 weeks. I only have GT3. I used to do a lot of drifting, im decent but nothing special, but now i cant drift at all with a DS2. The wheel totally changes the way the game feels, not so much realistic wise, but the car is much more precise. I tried doing a race with the DS2 and i was like  the game is so nasty with a DS2, wheel is so much smoother. I cant even get nearly as good of a line as i used to with my DS2. I have become used to the wheel and im loving it.

in this day and age a racing game like GT4 require the use of a wheel. Without it, racing with a DS2 is just not that exciting as it should be. Remember you're only killing how the game should feel. Or put it this way, it's like your loosing the bottom half of your body functions.

Hmm. Sounds like you'd like my Racing Suit. After all, unless you can feel everything, you're not really racing. Right?

The only thing holding me back from getting a DFP is a place to set it up. I don't have any room for a table to set it up on in my room, so this limits me from setting up a DFP properly :(

Greatest idea ever! At least it would be motivation for all of us to keep off the walls when driving in Monaco!

dont' know if this was posted, but found out that the buttons on the DS2 are infact analog and pressure sensitive...not digital like on/off only :p

You JUST found this out? lol Sorry just teasin' ya :)

I donno but I like both

Maybe I'm not experienced enough with the GT4 wheel just yet but I found it a little difficult to play the last S class license with the steering wheel due to all the bumps haha

or maybe the little tv-dinner table that my wheel is mounted on isn't very secure so I kinda went easy on the wheel.

Also I like using the controller for having a little drifting fun ... that's maybe I ain't too good with the wheel haha... but since my girlfriend's bro PS2 isn't at my house anymore I can't play GT4 .... cause my old modded PS2 can't play :( sigh
