On my 160GB ps3 I cannot play my ps2 DISC on it so if I download the same ps2 game on the psn store wil I still be able to play it or not?

If you are downloading it and then playing it you won't need the disc. It will work. You won't need the disc then so you can probably sell it and get some money.

What I thought! Now I can play the game on my ps3 (what I wanted it for) and cheat by copying saved data from the web into the internal memory card :D .

No the only PS3s that can are certain original fat PS3.... But i have worked on a lot of my friends PS3s and what i have done it took their broken 80GB PS3s apart and underneath the blueray player there is a microchip and i take that chip and attach it to their new SLIM model PS3's blueray player.. But no at the moment i own a 160GB fat PS3 (2nd generation fat) which has a limited backwards compatibility (playssome ps1 games) i have put a 500GB hard drive in it when i get that chip i am going to do the same thing to mine..

He said if he downloads it he wants to know if that will work, he already knows the disc won't.

No unless you have certain modes of the 1st generation fat model PS3s you will not be able to... What i have done for a lot on my friends is took their 80GB PS3s apart and underneath the blueray player is a micro chip (which lets the PS3 play them).. I take that chip and put it underneath their new SLIM model PS3's blueray drive to make it play PS3, PS2, & PS1games.. I am planning to do this to my 2nd generation 160GB fat model PS3.. I have put a 500GB hard drive in it so far... My PS3 is limited backwards compatibility (only plays PS3 and some PS1 games) but after the chip it will play all

Ops sorry i had to retype that i didn't know it posted my phone died while posting and i didn't see it when i logged back in

Have you tried downloading ps2 games?

Yes i thought you meant something else... Yes you will be able to play them as long as they are from the store.. Yeah go ahead... Sorry for the confusion

As far as I know you won't get away with that. PSN versions of PS2 games use different kind of saves, so your old (or downloaded) PS2 memory card saves won't work.
