hey guys i want to know what i should do. im stuck between a rock and a hard spot. i want to know if i should leave ps3 and my favorite game that ive HAD. or should i go and tade in my ps3 for an xbox 360 and get forza motorsport 4. thanks guys. p.s. if you reply please list at least 1 pro and 1 con of why you would choose that option. by the way i cant have both.

If i were you i would try something new. You've had GT5 for however many months, so it might be fun to try Forza, ive not played it myself but ive heard good things :)
Then when you've played it for a while, either go back to GT5 and the PS3 if you prefer it, or simply move onto another racing sim 👍

I would pick XBOX and Forza 4. I find Forza to much more immersive, but 1 thing I don't like is the online because you have to start a race. You can't do free run like in GT5. Be prepared for a flame war. Also why trade it in if you are enjoying the game?

I think you can search around and get X-Box through many different bundles. Well at least in Australia, if you buy like a fridge or spend x ammount of money, they throw in an x-box for free... haha...

Each is good for what they are...there is endless fun to be had with editor on Forza, however when it comes right down to it GT5 has it hands down when it comes to simulating
the driving experience. Nothing wrong with having both, but if you want to sell your PS3 and GT just to pick up Forza I would call you nuts.

Sony Online:free
XBL Not

Also I have had 3 XBOX's RROD

I know you said you cant have both...but I would just wait, save your money, and buy a $100 (or less) refurbished Xbox. If you plan on trading your ps3 into gamestop, they will only give you $90 (and thats with the "special" currently). That means to get an xbox, even a little 4g, will be another $110 plus the cost of a warranty and the game. So added up about $210 on the cheap side. Instead you could just pay $160 for a refurb and the game...but might sacrifice reliability slightly. Otherwise, stay with GT and PS3 IMO.

(also posted on your duplicate thread)

Dude, you're on a GT5 forum. Take a guess what advise you will get.
My completely fair and balanced choice is......PS3 and GT5.

I have the two of them. Gt5 is a more real and complex racing game, I love it. Forza 4 is fun one, the engine swaps, the vinyls, the well picked cars for the game, make it a fun choice. But after playing the two of them for a decent time now, I like gt5 better. It's a complex one, more real, better instructive and the online it's better. If gt5 implement drag racing there will be no need for me to play forza. Ohh and I don't like the simple tuning on tranny of forza.

you should tell us what is your play style and what you want from a racing game.

I've had both, GT5 on a G25 for half a year and Forza 4 with the fanatec since launch. I sold my PS3 along with the G25 later on.

Don't want a debate but the popular opinion that GT5 is better in physics is very questionable, because:
1. In forza tire wear is logically different between compounds, not in GT5.
2. in forza there's engine damage, clutch and gearbox damage.
3. in forza there's tire pressure.
4. in forza a crash has more notable effect on your car (although still relatively forgiving)
5. in forza different contact patch size has an impact on grip.
6. in forza even "cosmetic" parts has an impact on performance.
7. imo it has the most accurate representation of a power oversteer in almost anygame.

It am going to leave the rest which are impression based and just list the factual ones.

Id say GT5.

Or you could get an Xbox 360 and keep your PS3 and then you could by Project C.A.R.S by Slightly Mad Studios when it is out late 2012 on whatever you prefer. Heard and seen great things about C.A.R.S

I've had a burn on forza 4 it's awful the cars don't react anything like those on gt5! And kinect kills the point of having a racing game.

I can afford only one game system, I has choosed ps3 because GT5.

You said you wanted to improve your English so here goes:

"I could (You already bought it) only afford one gaming system and I chose the PS3 because of GT5."

Anyhow, I personally did not know what to expect from GT5. I am very happy I got it because it somehow is exactly the kind of racing game I wanted. I play in cockpit mode, which in my opinion gives an intensive feel at high speeds. Great game.

I'm not going to be one of those "I've played both, but..." people so I'll just keep my mouth shut. But it's certainly worth it to save and try and own both. That's what I done and I never use the 360 now but it's a nice feeling to know that I can switch back and forth anytime I want, rent Forza 4 for the weekend for some random fun on the side.

I would say: PS3 with GT5 and Forza 4.
Forza is a really nice game but I'm a GT5 player. But don't buy a Xbox you have too pay too play online and PS3 is just WIFI. Without online its not fun, PS3 is better made and expenisive, XBox is cheap and like a box.
Its all what I think^^

GT5
Pro - Best physics on console (with a wheel anyway no idea with a controller)
Con - Bad selection of cars (60 skylines and 10 ferraris)

Forza 4
Pro - great selection of cars
Con - bad physics with a wheel and not as good graphics

GT5 with DS3 is amazing with sensetivity at highest.

I would get a box and fm4, but I have a G27 and microsoft is too busy sucking off fanatec to support logitech. So they probably wont see my money.

Thanks! and 👍 to your comment.

I have both games because I have a stupid love for cars and could afford it. That said, if I had to pick a favorite it would be GT5. I love Gran Turismo because it lets me experience the cars. Drive them. Enjoy them. In Forza I don't get that attached feeling because no matter how nice the game looks, or how fun it is to paint the car, it does not feel the way it should. My Karmann Ghia in GT5 drives EXACTLY as it does in real life. I play GT5 with the Logitech wheel, surround sound, a 100inch 3D HD projector and it is like nothing else.

That said, everyone is different. I purchased Forza so I could race with cars I don't have access to in GT. Mainly the random super cars assortment. I do enjoy the paint features, and the visual customization option, but for me that's the end of the excitement with Forza. I tried the Kinect features and did not like that at all. Admittedly, since Forza doesn't support my wheel I opted to buy the wireless wheel that MS makes. Its a better experience than just using the controller, but its nothing compared to a real wheel. When you are racing it just doesnt feel real. It feels fun, no doubt, but not real. I enjoy both games but for anyone who wants to experience driving, I would point them towards GT5.

I have same situatin be birdboy84. I have both games, but GT5 with g25. The feelings gives GT5 are really good in therms of driving.Pity the sounds, could be better, but in premium cars do the job altmost, and at iddle are very similar(owning a 207 GTI,the start is exactily the same).

After playing both, forza gives lots of options and car selection, but at time to compare each others, for example in Tsukuba,a time attack,I really prefer do it in GT5,I find more challenging.

I'd say Forza 4.

Better physics
Betters seasonals. Actually monthlys really
Leaderboards for everything.
Better online experience.
Consistency graphically across the game.
Consistency sonically across the game.
More custom options.
Ability to sort your garage how you see fit.
Many many more events.
Telemetry.
Auction house.
In game economy.

Cons.

Sucks your life away.

I agree with a lot of your points but gt5 is still the better driving game, by a mile! I love forza 4 but its just simply not as good overall. Maybe forza 5 will steal the crown? Who knows....

i agree with mrkevans and here is something i stumbled on the internet just an hour ago: http://thesilentchief.com/2011/12/16/worldwide-sales-of-gran-turismo-5-now-stand-at-7-3-million/ numbers don't lie so they say.
as for your question i own both a 360 and a ps3 but gt5 gets most of my time since the handling of the cars escpecially after the spec 2.0 update feel one on one with forza 4 im constantly trying to adjust and tinker with the settings to no result, its a great race game but gt5 5 despite some flaws still feels better overall.
only problem that i have with the game right now is a fresh selection of new cars and more tracks other than that its all fixed or taken care of in the spec 2.0 update sofar.
