you must remember that the PS3 controller is a prototype. I have read in magazines that talked to Sony Reps at E3 about it, they asked the Reps if it would be the final controller and the Reps started laughing and said no it was just a prototype. 👍
Yeah, I've heard about that. I hope they keep the same lay out, maybe make it look more sleek and ad some rubber for more comfort and grip. And maybe even add cool neon lights too the transparent controllers when they release those. It would a fun add on. Or maybe LEDS would be better.

I think the Bluetooth wireless will be great and they just charge through USB ports in the front of the system, no batteries or anything that is great.

The PS2 controller was as close to ergonomically perfect as any has ever come. It's just wonderful. The PS3 one, on the other hand, doesn't look right at all.

The Sega Saturn controller is the coolest looking.

The PS2 controller didn't take too long to adjust to, but I chose the Dreamcast because I doubt that too many people even remember that killer system. It's controller was a little too small, but when I got used to it, it was a dream to control.

I also love the original Saturn controller. Wonderfully comfortable, even tho the shoulder buttons were too big and easy to accidentally trigger.

The controls are not prototypes.

Countless Magazines around the world reported from E3 that slight modifications might be made, but that the original controller design is final.

Yep you can see the USB port in this picture.

The usb is for charging the wireless controllers not to connect them

If they arnt to connect them then what will we all do when were doing 24 hour races on GT5? and im sure that when gt5 is finally released and we do have these new bluetooth controllers there will be many posts on...........

.....my endurance race was lost because the batterys run out in my controller!

think i better stock up on post-it notes to remind myself!!

also to add to the post above when its released then someone will bring out a device for hacking the controller, so you can take controlle of someone else's PS3 :), but arnt the pad meant to be rechargeable? thats why its got a usb port?

Ok we all know SONY WILL BE changing the design for the PS3 pad -

I figure this is sort of proof it will be changing.

Someone probably already noticed this.

Do yous remember before the PSP came out? Well the design was like this;

Then it turned out like this;

So you can see the big ergonomical change.

My view is that sony wont produce their next gen console with a controller no-one likes!

You can just play with it connected. When the batteries run low, just plug it in and keep playing. The controller should operate as per normal through wireless, but the batteries will be charging through the USB.

That's how I see it workin' anyway - just like using a laptop with it plugged in, rather than runnin' it off the battery. :)

We have no proof. Because the PSP changed doesn't mean the PS3 Controller will.
It'd be a bit stupid anyways after Sony announced it was a final design.

Did they announce that??? When? They announced after the E3 that the controller WASN'T the final design, I've not seen them say otherwise since.

PSM, an official PS2 magazine with others were confirmed by Sony officials that minor changes could happen, but the design it self was final.

Oh, I don't read the mags but I did see Sony say that wasn't the final design just after E3. I'm not overly bothered tbh, it looks like it's more comfey than the PS2 pads which are too small.

You serious? How big are you.

[/so...the controller design is final? or the console designQUOTE]

Nothing is final yet, or at least that's what they want everyone to think, this way if the competitor makes a change they can make a better change.

The DS2 is functional, but it certainly isn't comfey to hold. The X-Box pads far comfier to hold but the buttons arn't in as good positions. Not that I'd say they are on a DS2 cos it's too small, if it was bigger then the buttons would be in great positions though.

i'm just wondering if anyone found the N64 controllers refreshing, i did, i thought it was kinda cool for a while.

Agreed. Though it's sometimes hard to keep control of all of the buttons at all times, it's pretty innovative. However, when the Dualshock 2 debuted on PS1 with Ape Escape, I was in utter awe. :drool:

I've never really heard anyone say it was too small, and in no way can I understand what your going through with the DS2.

Anyways I hope on the ps3 they put rubber on the grips, it's so comfy, and make it super duper ricey!!!!I might not like rice cars, but I'd love a rice controller with neons(leds prob), and sony/ps3 logos, and other cool things. But of coarse this wouldn't be the base controller, you know, it would be like one of those ones you buy seperately.
