PM Me and ask
So I just lost 987 cars, 1000 paints etc etc.

My game save is gone, and I don't know what to do. is there anyway to get my file back if its deleted? I didn't have it backed up before it happen ( was in the process of backing it up when this happened.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

No.
Next time get your save backed up!!!

Oh man.. I'm really sorry to hear that.
I would be absolutely angry if that had happened.
I try and back it up every week!

Nothing you can do but for next time, keep a spare back up. I have one that I update weekly on my laptop.

"next time" I can't imagine even attempting to get everything I had. I spent days sometimes "Farming" UCD lot for "rare" cars.

Is it really necessary to create more than one thread about this?

In future create two backups. One in a user account on your PS3 called backup and another on a USB memory stick. That way a crash would only take one save.

Have you tried using the salvage facility in the game. It's in the GT5 options. It probably won't work but you never know.

I've restarted the game before. There really is nothing to it once you get the 200% bonus back.

Try salvage files and add me THEPUNISHER__UAE i have 1500+ cars i will give what ever you want .

R.I.P old save data ( maybe not if salvage file solved the problem ) .

I got the YLOD on my launch 60GB PlayStation 3 on Monday. Thankfully I have PlayStation Plus so my save is backed-up to PlayStation Cloud but I am sorry to hear you lost all your data. That is rough.

Despite having it backed-up I lost all my Time Trial lap-times which I though was odd. Does anybody where that data is saved to? There is no hope of some times being replicated I think. Also, losing all my photos was a bitter pill to swallow but I was lucky overall.

How eslse can you back up your file besides usb? I mean i have mines back up on my usb but is there a second way to back it up to your systemr?

Hey, quick question for the OP. Did dyou use the PS3 browser to look at that guy's thread with the online car catalogue?

The reason I ask is, I used the browser version of it on the PS3 browser. It worked for a while then locked up my PS3 when I exited out of it when it stopped working. Then I restarted my PS3 and my GT5 save data was corrupted. Luckily I'm a plus member and my save was backed up so I only lost a couple days of grinding for cars.

I was thinking that catalogue trys reading GT5 game saves, but doing it through the PS3 browser corrupts the save or something. IDK.

So you lost your save file on the ps3 and the back up save file? Tragic. 👎

Gutted for you mate, I've never backed up my game save, guess I should start! If u need some cars add me THE_MUTTS_NUTTS_ and I will send you some over the next few days to help you get going again

Create a new user account on your PS3 and call it Backup. Copy your save to it as well as USB.

He's gotta be a trader or something. There is no way to recover a deleted save game file, or deleted anything for that matter.

I found an exploit to create a GT5 savegame that will boot for anyone.
But then I 'sign' it to a single persons PSN.
And insert some data into it.

I can help a few misfortunates that have lost their data.

I've been researching these exploits and have considered doing it myself, but I can't find a gamesave that is as accomplished as mine was. (no offense). It literally sickens me to turn on my ps3. -If I can't figure out how to retrieve MY corrupt file then I'll just have wait till GT6 to start again.

There's no way of doing this legally. You need jailbroken ps3 for this.

You're not suppose to be advising/advertising anything illegal. Read the AUP.

Publishing text that insinuates I partake in illegal activities without any proof is slander, please read the AUP.

Let the moderators moderate. Im sure there isn't any illegal advertising that goes unoticed.

What you say you do here is alter game save files.

Modifying a game save is against the Sony Agreement, therefore making it illegal (under the EUA). It states that "you will not make modifications to hardware or software". So, I'm not assuming anything here, jailbreaking or not, modifying a game save (or any part of their software) is contractually illegal.

As per the second part, I'm just giving you a heads up. I guess being a good Samaritan doesn't go far here. 👎

Supreme court already ruled you are well with in your right to modify a digital device you own. But Sony has the right to deny you service. That's all a EULA is, the agreement between you and the company providing a service. It's not a legal document saying if you violate their EULA you are committing a crime.

Apple products, not Sony.

No legal distinction between brands was ever made.
