There is a hidden recovery menu with the ps3 turned off. Press the power button and hold until ps3 turns on beeps twice then turn off. Push the power button again when it beeps twice release power button. Then you get menu with 6 options. Only use under direction as it will wipe the ps3. You can also recalibrate the laser but I don't know how yet
