Tha_con, can you blame me for wondering? The videos and shots I've seen look freaking incredible, and a damn huge leap up from what we are used to now. I'm not being a fanboy, they just look so good, I find it hard to believe, that's all.

Well it would be nice if you dropped the "OMG OMG I'm RITE AND j00R wrong" attitude towards me. I'm willing to believe they are in game when I see some guy controling it, that's all. Same goes for any MS stuff.
 
Phucking fanyboys(PS2 owner talking), look at the differences of the two. The two systems are almost identical, unlike the last gen. If i get the money, ill get the 360 too! Graphic cards (2 different companies) are the same, and so is the ram. Knowing Microsoft, they will expand the 360 some way. Cant we all get along?

according to the current specs, the ps3 is slightly more powerful. however, the graphics card on the ps3 is greater than the x360's. if it's more powerful than two 6800 ultras combined, chances are, it is more powerful than the x360's card.

I'll probably wait for them to come down in price then buy both for the same price some will pay for one ;) The jump doesn't look that big to me so far (But then I'm used to PC games).

code you must realize these are tech demos but what has X360 shown its capable of?

The TGS 05 is where we shall see real time games. Code if you watched the full Sony confrence Kaz hiari says the goal graphically is to have HD games running at 60fps with movie quality efefects. So far the few games shown for X360 are very choppy. THe system has a max render out put of 3840x1080(32x9) when using Two HDTV's. Now thats some real power.

you also made a point to Xbox being more powerful but PS2 winning the battle. The role will not reverse. PS2 will have the best games and graphics.

PS, The topic isnt about games and of course thats what matters. bottom line X360 is a great system. PS3 is a new religion. Bill Gats is being a real ass when it comes to the X360. at first they wanted it to be focused on games then Bill had other plans. You can goolge that.

True game cube sold a llot. Not bad for number 3. Sony was the last of the three to drop the price and it will remain that way.

Unless I see something being played by some guy, I believe pretty much nothing I've seen. And PLEASE, I realise the hardware in the PS3 is ass kicking, I even said it was amazing, and the hardware was radical and new.

It really is attractive for a grill machine though. 👍
 
theres another factor though....

when the ps2 came out it was first released in japan, thn usa thn europe.... the xbox first came out to a much wider audience of usa, thn europe and japan at the same time....

could this possibly be the same for these 2 consols?? if so it could be interesting on the sales numbers...

I agree, and I'll take it one more step. Until its ME playing a GOOD game on any of the systems, I'm going to wait to proclaim one of them a winner. Specs are just fluff right now. Give it time, wait and see what all 3 have to offer, play the games, then call a winner. Saying one of them has won already is just silly and ignorant talk.

I think I'm on Code's side here. I haven't seen anything to sway me to either sony or microsoft so I'll wait until more info comes out. Honestly I think both will end up being sweet. I'll probably end up getting ps3 just because of future gran turismos.
 
This was a showase of power the TGS should be where we will see something playable. Just a glimps of power and to anyone who watched the whole conference they would know that. Watch it its worth the hour and 50 mins.
 
yeah i watched it and my jaw dropped about 5, 6 times, especially when they showed the water demo with them picking up the water using the eyetoy
 
its done done done....Xbox has officaially lost the battle..and the battle hasn't ven started lol....PS3 is gonna woop butt...look at that thing..comes in 3 colors...damn..sick system..definiley gonna get this...as for the controller..i like it...itn real size its smaller and therfore looks more unique...as the looks of it the controller is weird..but when u reall look at it...it looks like it supports more comfort for ur hand and stuff..so it won't hurt ur hand and makle it sore afterwards like the DS2....i prefer this contriller and not change it..Sony as it names says is names for desgin precision and unique to all other....there known for wird shapes.hey as long as it has blutooth technology its fine with me..
 
Actually I think the Xbox will be a better system, but in reality all you people who are stating that the Xbox sucks are just complete morons. You won't know until much closer to the release on how they are going to preform.

The reason I like the Xbox more is that game selection for Xbox has always been better in my opinion. I really like computer games, but my computer isn't good enough to play them, so I get the benefit with the Xbox.

Both systems will be great, a competition is the best thing for consumers. I will be getting both mind you, I won't get the Nintendo though.
 
Revolution beats both. how can you beat having a lot of the games from NES, SNES, N64, all the Gamecube games, and then new ones????? I think Xbox and PS3 aren't having the strongest things at launch so far. (DOA 4 looks almost exactly like DOA3, and the only thing PS3 has going for it is Killzone 2) I know Revolution hasnt been exactly fully unveilied yet, but I think they will have a killer console.
 
The people who are saying that Xbox was faster and had better graphics than the PS2, remember that it also came out over a year later.

I am a huge fan of PS2, and will definitely get a PS3. I've had this argument so many times with my friends, and they always say "Xbox is so much better than PS2, PS2's graphics are horrible, Xbox way faster" and on and on and on. It was true only because they waited over a year later to release it. Now that the 360 and PS3 will be released a lot closer together, I think the graphics will be very close, or the PS3 will be better, and my friends will have nothing to argue with. :dopey:

I agree that the PS3 is good and the x360 is good. I will probably only get the PS3 though as i own a PS2 and have loved it and own a plethura of games that only a backwards compatible PS3 could support. The only reason i would buy the x360 is if they release Forza2, or some equally cool game on it and they kicks arse.

The x360 certainly looks the better system visually. I was mega disappointed by the photos of the PS3, but i guess we'll to wait see. I'd get it in black :D
 
Well sony still doesnt have anthing close to xbox live. I dont think sony even listens to gamers.. all broken promises, lies and delaysx1,000,000

It is a "design study very close to an final design".

Next E3 will unveil a true looks of both PS3 and its controllers. Remeber that the PS3 is a full year away from us. The console will probably be launched no earlier then May 2006.

The same goes to specs which can only go to higher grounds.

Yeah I also think that Sony still has its secrets ... and developement doesn't stop until maybe 3 months befor ethe actual release...

Btw.. I really wish these rumors would be true.... It would be a hard time for Sony and Microsoft, although that would be a so different technology that they wouldn't be rivals anymore...

I was lead to believe that an early 2006 reference for release was more probable? May is ages away. I really hope they have it out by E3 next year, really really.
 
PS3 has much more potential than Xbox360 has. At the moment they might be pretty close in terms of graphics, but in few years time when developers start reaching maximum on both machines, PS3 will be a lot better. Xbox360 won't last more than 2/3 years, while PS3 has potential to last more than twice that.
 
I really do think that Xbox messed things up this time.....they took the chance of an early release banking on the fact that there system would be better but it backfired and sony shot them down with twice the power.......

......I really do think Xbox will turn into a Dreamcast situation.....I will die really quickly......and I do agree who would buy it if they knew that the PS3 was better.....The 360 doesnt have backward compatablity so it may not keep its loyal xbox fans.......whereas PS3 is backwards compatable to PS1! aswell as playing nearly every type of disk under the sun including the amazing Blue Ray ones....

Plus it does look the business.......if they sort out the controller it will be amazing.....

I'm still saying this was just a hardware Introduction. TGS 05 in september will be the place for the games, No one can make a game in 2 months and there is no way Killzone was real time. I do not beleive it. If it were say November and they showed it I'd beleive it.
