NaughtyDog is know from destroying the system.

Uncharted killed Tomb Raider, but now when Lara is back, i think Last of US will seriously win Game of the Year award. Because it just has to be better. I literally can't imagine to be different. :guilty:

No :) I don't think Uncharted killed the old TR games but took them to a new place, somewhere where it could grow, and I am grateful for that.

I do think TLoU will be a very solid game though, as it's ND being ND and opening up their horizons further. I've a feeling this is going to be quite a story.

I think a better way of putting it would be to say that Uncharted addressed many of the issues that plagued the Tomb Raider franchise, particularly after The Last Revelation.

I can agree with that. It's going to be a long old wait for TLoU but I think the wait will be very worthwhile. Luckily I have TR and a few other games to continue playing in the meantime :)

On that note, I think Naughty Dog are at their best when they are working off an established formula. When they made the Crash Bandicoot series, they took the existing framework of a platform game and added their own elements to it. When they started on Uncharted, they picked up where the Tomb Raider series left off around the time of The Last Revelation. And now The Last of Us is their foray into survival horror with an emphasis on grassroots survival and horror at a time when the genre is obsessed with first-person shooter mechanics and bold action set-pieces that make Michael Bay films look tame by comparison.

Astonishing what they do with the PS3 still.

Naughty Dog and Santa Monica are known for making the PS3 look like another system entirely. PD too. They really are masters of what they do. I really think Naughty Dog and Santa Monica are the best developers running today

Agreed!

Lol :) Im from Finland and theyre still my favorite team. But theres just not many games to fully compete with Uncharteds, character, story, graphics...

Well you are right, and I'm grateful too, because this Tomb Raider is just simply stunning. Kind of short but stunning. Left me with hunger for more. That's why I'm betting strongly on Last of US for a game of the Year. I know it's going to be between Tomb Raider, Last of US. Bioshock infinite, and Gran Theft Auto 6. What a farewell to PS3

I just watched those videos and looked at those screen shots from a few pages back and I am so impressed right now.👍

They are two of the best no doubt about it.

Naughty dog wouldn't be them-selfs if not provide us with multiplayer 👍

Today I went to a Expo and played a little demo of this game, was only 5 minutes but was very good. The demo I played was that show in E3.

I seriously hope that this game is introducing some adventure that is close to Walking Dead scenario, you travel, avoid being detected by infected, scavenge and search for supplies, and fight for your survival.

I already played Tomb Raider 2013, now I'm in Bioshock Infinite but from Last of US i really want to be game of the year, the best the one and only absolute king of 2013, and worthy farewell to PS3

It'll never be game of the year for the same reason Uncharted 3 wasn't game of the year (although Uncharted 3 deserved game of the year without a doubt). Their too mainstream and universally appealing. The people who vote on this stuff are most hardcore gamer nerds that are mostly into RPG's. Typically if a game is good and outside the norm, that'll get GOTY instead of a game that's actually better and more universally enjoyed. That's why game awards are typically worthless

Maybe The Last of Us will do something new and unique in addition to being as brilliant as Uncharted, in that case it'll definitely win but unless it's really innovative, it lose out to something much less deserving I'm sure.

That's great man. The bruins are a great team to root for. I'd be a fan even if I wasn't from Boston, their style if great.

And I agree, there's not much of anything that can top Uncharted. I don't know if Uncharted 2 is my favorite game, GT5 or Assassins Creed Revelations probably is but honestly, I think overall it's the best game of all time, I really do.

I still thing Last of us has a potential to win this title. The idea for game different than Uncharted is good. It is different like Journey was entire different level of experience. Short but so much enjoyable.

No i didn't play it yet, which shouldn't stop me from just assuming that. Let's have hope. 👍 :)

I think it depends on how they implement the survival factor. If they do it in a new and innovative way, I think it could win GOTY. Even if they don't do anything innovative, and just make their typical style of third person shooter with brilliant storytelling, great characters, and the best graphics by far like always I think it will deserve GOTY, but the people who vote on this stuff would rather give awards to something that was the most innovative instead of the game that was actually the best. Either that, or they just give it to some undeserving RPG like Skyrim.
