MGS lacks one very important thing for a Stealth game. Decent Stealth.

"Why bother with shadows, lighting, stealth, realism, and grittyness, lets just make an anime film style game with mechs, ninjas, and quirky characters."

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

The new MGS on the PS3 seems to be a step in the right direction, if the videos are anything to go by.

I like em, I really do, but they are nothing more then very silly games.

MGS is more accurate, because you see. In the miltary, they have 16 year old white haird kids doing their missions for them.

-And Terrorist organizations always wear uniform clothing/ski-masks..
-Not to mention there are Ninja's throughout the world that are robots.
-Oh and you can't forget people with psychic abilities to dodge bullets...
-And the hovering machine gun camera drone things
-and the whole issue that if a guy hears you tap on a wall, he's going to blindly turn the corner, not making any sort of strategic advance on you.
-and the 12 gunshot wounds to the abdomen..You're SNAKE you're fine..
-and the Centrum silver agent in the next installment

Now i'm not saying Splinter Cell is an espionage simulator or anything..but come on, don't say MGS wins because of "accuracy"...paaalleeeaazzee

Snake goes up against soldiers. That is first and foremost. What else are they to wear? Kaki Dockers, and Fubu shirts? Duh.

Ninja robots? I've never seen one in the last three MGS games. Or, ever...

-Oh and you can't forget people with psychic abilities to dodge bullets...

One character did it one time only, during a FMV for dramatic effect, and that was in MGS2, the worst MGS game of them all. Despite that, it still beats any and all SC games.

-And the hovering machine gun camera drone things

Those are real, moron. Well, they were, until the Military stopped using them. It was easier, and cheaper, to use remote controlled airplanes. Now, they're working on dragon flies that will hover around with tiny cameras on it. Oh, and the dragon fly is a 100% man-made robot.

-and the whole issue that if a guy hears you tap on a wall, he's going to blindly turn the corner, not making any sort of strategic advance on you.

You never did guard duty before, have you? You don't approach a thousand noises your hear in a day, in a stealth manner. You go check it out because you're thinking it's just another damn noise you heard. Plus, not all the characters approach like that in MGS games.

-and the 12 gunshot wounds to the abdomen..You're SNAKE you're fine..

Well, it would suck if you had to play the game over again if you died everytime you got shot. Wouldn't it? Plus, he has body armor. You also should play on the more difficult levels. Four or five shots, and your'e done for.

-and the Centrum silver agent in the next installment

That's the realism creeping in, again. Plus, with MGS4, it most likely will be the end for Solid Snake. Can't have him dying young, now. Plus, Kojima wanted to take advantage of the facial detail that older people have over younger people. Plus, the use of facial expressions in the next game, made Kojima decide to use an older Snake.

Yeah, that rifle he uses is sooooo real. I have one myself. He moves like a straight, non-Cirque du Soleli performer, too. His human interactions are not over-scripted, third-rate, B-movie hogwash either. He has a tongue of gold, he does, he does. Wow, and what a sense of humor. He should charge a two drink minimum every time he speaks. And sneaking around, shooting and killing everyone he encounters is just like real life. Somehow, no cameras to catch what you're doing. Oh, wait. Yes there is. But how do you get rid of them? Ah, huh. Some camera interupter gun that needs to self recharge all time.

There's a difference between doing guard duty for Sainsburys, and a criminal organisation.

Ninja robots? I've never seen one in the last three MGS games. Or, ever...

Fine, Ninja Cyborg then. What ever. The robot bit was in sarcasm.

Guys, guys, your forgetting MGS and SC are both just games, it doesn't matter how real/unreal they are, it's how fun they are. I find MGS more fun than SC, so what, it doesn't mean everyone should find MGS more fun than SC (well it does really :)) and vice versa. Both are very well made games, they're quite a bit different to each other really but theres no reason to start slagging people off for preferring one over the other.

I played on the PS Ultra Mega 88 last night, with a copy of Gran Turismo 90 Special suzuki swift Hyper Multiplayer edition. It sucked.

PGR 3 is awesome, I got it yesterday!

Edit: Only a few people get pre-production Xbox 360 consoles for testing, how can it be you without proof? If you CAN prove it.

I hear some Walmart stores have Xbox 360 demo's (360 booths send from microsoft) running now and more will have soon, not sure if they are playable though.

Got my info from Gamespot.

Oh, this is normal for young_warrior. He says things without facts to back them up.

A handful of Wal Marts do have 360 kiosks up and running, but I doubt he lives in the US.

if you actually read this and read the article you will see they are saying its not as good as they hoped it would be, shame too coz i really wanted to like the 360, but i hate playing games online, and im not that bothered about online stuff, other than what i do at the moment.

I had a quick read of the PGR3 hands on and they seemed impressed to me. Didnt bother with the rest as Im not interested in the 360 and Im not into console online gaming which I think Microsoft is really pushing (for a price:rolleyes: ) .

I wish those kiosks are here. :(

Then my brother may be able to make up his mind of what game he wants to get with it. (I'm definetly getting PGR3 BTW). :)

I read it's £40 to get online for whole year. I guess Microsoft is trying to get more money out of us...

Edit: Paying to get online to play with other people I mean. You automaticaly can download stuff for free I think.

Yeah my problem is I play alot of PC games online for free, Im not used to having to pay for it after I already payed for the game and the broadband internet connection. Might be popular but not my cup of tea, I'll stick to my PC online gaming.

i saw some had arrived in wisconsin but when i saw what games there were to play i lost interest fast and didnt bother to even check my local stores:

Call of duty2
Kameo
King Kong

I'll pass untll i get word of PGR3 or ....... hmmm not much esle as far as launch titles since the only game(other than the delayed Oblivion) I was really interested in (Full Auto) was delayed till Feb 06.

Interesting interview with J. Allard.

Q: Do you think PS3 is still coming out in spring 06?

Allard: I keep reading spring 06. You keep writing it. He keeps saying it, you keep writing it, and I keep reading it. I don't know what to believe. The only console I have seen doesn't have holes in it. You can't have a 200-watt-plus system and not have air flow through it. You know? Nobody has tried the boomerang yet. I hope they do something better than that.

*taps Allard on the shoulder, pissst *whispers "Its conceptual" just like your machine was at E3, remember-those faceplates you gave out dont fit the final system and that jackhole who paid $800 for one on ebay has to live with it.

I do have respect for his honesty about the Revololution controller and I stand by his opinion.

I see vents in this picture. But its still conceptual, note the words at the bottom of the pic

Allard was drunk on that Grey Mallard....

I mean, goose.

J. Allard is humble at times, and utterly incomprehensible at others. I just don't understand him, and I wish he would keep his mouth shut when he doesn't really know what he's talking about.

He is proof that even if you hold a degree and a nice position in the industry, you can still sound and act like you have a high school diploma.

ime on my knees praying the ps3 has better protocol handling than the ps2s paltry . it will be worse than heroin when it comes to other pursuits if so ( it'll own )

According to the CoolGamer blog, the next edition of Famitsu will feature an interview with someone important in the gaming industry, which will confirm that PS3's price won´t pass U$350,00. It also says the release will be at the end of the Japanese spring.

CoolGamer blog barely translated.
