PSN Down???

LulzSec are behind this, I think. Luckily I don't have my PS3 at the moment, good thing too

My PSN is up and running. Also, other players (my friends) are online too. Note that only one online friend isn't from GTP.

No hack. Can't be.
 
Everyone thats saying this is a hack or is unplanned needs to chill the frak out!

First: The maintenance notification from the Asia site mentions today as the maintenance time, but the notification itself was posted yesterday. That inherently means that it was announced there PRIOR to the PSN going down, which means its not just another BS response to something happening.

Second: I have three PSN accounts. One in the USA, one in the UK, and one in Japan... yes, the USA and UK are down, but guess what? THE JAPANESE ACCOUNT LOGS IN JUST FINE!!! This means it not a PSN wide hack and that the PSN isn't shut down.

Put these two FACTS together and you have the evidence that this is just maintenance, and you should all just be patient. Use your brains and don't start spouting crap against Sony just because your angry. I'm angry, too, I want to be playing DCUO right now... but I can't... but I don't jump the gun and call for Sony's hanging, either.

Seriously, folks. Take a moment to think before you react.

My PS3 froze while I was in a text-chat, I restarted the PS3 and I couldn't sign back in. I proceeded with restarting the router for a few times without succes after the I declared a state of emergency and told my family members to hide in the basement until the air raid is over.

Did nobody expect this? I'm sure this was in the pipeline. Or am I thinking of something else?

Edit: I can sign in OK but cannot gift or RR.

I'm still online here in the Netherlands, and have been for hours. Probably a glitch in the new firmware they need to fix asap. Definitely not a hack (they would've switched it off entirely).

There was a new firmware for PS3 released last night and there is a scheduled outage (7:00pm PDT or 10:00pmEDT) for GT5 servers in the US for today and was posted (http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/news/d5939.html) on Sept 16...
