Anyone else having this issue today?I sign in ok but when I try to play GT6 it signs me off and gives me this error message

As it says: PSN error. Not GT6. Have no idea how to fix it either, but I don't have it.

If you can sign into psn but not go into online lobby's,I have a trick that works around 90% of time. Go to gt store and click any money pack but don't buy it and then quickly go to online mode and it should work.

It appears to be a problem specific to the game, rather than a general network error. I can go online with other games and view my friends online before I go into GT6, but as soon as I start GT6, PSN signs me out.

Like above it might be update coming or just the severs are down for repair

It´s a router problem. Ones I´m home i can give you a better answer. Just wait for 6 hours....
(Also resetting your router might work for a limited time. Just switch power OFF, then wait couple of seconds. Than back ON and let it boot. Ones it´s up an running, log onto PSN and see if its working.)

or wait for my next post.

The router restart trick worked yesterday.Today it gives me the 8002E5BO error message.....:banghead: I'm signed in PSN but can't get the online features of GT6.

The Problem is that your router lacks some automatic port-update. You have to put the PSN Ports in manually and they sometimes change over time or they add new ones. The most routers do this automatically (its called something but I forgot). But some (mostly cheaper ones) don´t. You can check your router via google. Nevertheless try this:

1) Go to your router configuration
2) Goto the NETWORK Menu
3) Select NAT & Portsettings (I don´t know if this is the correct english translation, but it´s where you can configure your ports manually)
here you will manually configure your ports
4) Select PLAYSTATION 3
5) activate PORTSETTINGS (rules?)
make sure Playstation ist selected in the dropdown menu, or wherever you can select it
6) Put the following numbers in the TCP & UDP field

TCP: 80,443,5223,10070-10080
UDP: 5223,3478,3479,3658,3074-3075,10070
The 10070-10080 were new ones for me. After I put them in, everything was normal again, and no logouts so far.

7) Save Settings
8) Log OUT
9) Reset Router, just to be save.
10) Start PS3, Log in PSN, play.

If it doesn´t work, post pictures of your Router Configurator Screens with the menus and I shall see what I can do. I´m no expert. I just found this in a german forum. So it may work, or it may not. But at least it´s a try. Good luck.

I'm in the router menu now.Only option related I see is NAT,when I enter the NAT is enabled.I then choose Port forwarding. Then what???

I had the same issue yesterday, but it seems to be fixed now. It was definitely on the game's end as anything else worked fine online.

I copy pasted what I could from the Port Routing page...
To add a new rule, enter rule name. To specify the LAN client that the rule will be applied, enter an IP address, or select them from the existing client list and then click Add. When you have the client that the rule will be applied, specify the applications that port forwarding will be applied.

Rule Name
LAN Interface WAN Interface
SELECT CLIENT
Selected Client IP

New IP Address
Existing LAN clients
MAC ADDRESS IP ADDRESS NAME
Your modem can be configured as a virtual server and clients on the Internet can access the services such as web or FTP servers on your LAN using real IP addresses that are forwarded to the local IP addresses of such servers. It can forward incoming packets to an IP address on the LAN based on the protocol and the port number. You can specify a port map using '-' character between two port numbers. Port Map example: 1060-1100
  • Enter a name for the port forwarding rule you are to define in the Application field.
  • Enter the port number(s) the application use(s) in the WAN ports field.
  • Enter the port number(s) that the application is going to use in the local network in the Target LAN Ports field (usually it is same as the real port(s)).
  • Instead of forwarding a single port, you can forward multiples by specifying them as intervals seperated by ':'. For example to forward all ports between 23 and 80 enter 23:80 in this field.

Application Name
WAN LAN
TCP Ports
UDP Ports

Have you done a clear system cache that sometimes can fix a network issue.

@jeep2008 @Cosbuster I had the same problem yesterday (80028ED6) when i was in the xmb i was loged in to the psn but once i started BF4/GT6/playstation store i got signed out with the error 80028ED6.

I got it working by changing my dns settings on my PS3 suggested by some of my psn friends. The numbers are:
first dns 139.130.4.4
second dns 61.88.88.88

This worked for me hope it works for you to.

UPDATE

1) Add a new RULE - Select ADD NEW RULE
2) Name it PLAYSTATION
3) Select the device from existing client list: PLAYSTATION(3?)
4) ADD

5) NETWORK> PORT RULES
6) Select newly created PLAYSTATION
7) Select ACTIVATE
8) Select the proper Device (PLAYSTATION)
9) Put the new PORT NUMBERS in the TCP and UDP field
10) SAVE
11) Log Out
12) Reboot

Start up, switch PS3 on, log in PSN, see if it works.

I may need your Brand & Model of your router to be more precise. Short explanation. You need to create a PORT Forwarding Rule for your router. You create one. The Playstation device should be in there already, so it should be easy, since you already can log in. The info comes from the PS3 itself. With the new rule, you tell the router to block the prots for the PSN. Therefore nothing ever logs you out again. Just make sure you have all ports. PSN switches between ports randomly. Some routers than have trouble following and then you are logged out.

If this does´nt help i need to do screenshots with my router configurator. But hop it works. Also check google with your router how do create a port forwarding rule. That might be more precise then my list. Hope for you it works soon.

EDIT: Wasn´t quick enough. Seeing the DNS Settings worked is excellent. Hope this stays put now and you can enjoy PSN online. 👍

It's DNS settings, I had it happen to me on and off last few days, I was using Google's DNS. Changed to OpenDNS and it signed in straight away and never had a problem since. No idea, at all why Google DNS doesn't work unless they have it on some sort of blacklist, as it's been solid on my PC for god knows how many years.

I'm normally quite knowledgeable when it comes to computers and networks, but this had me stuck for about 2 days thought PSN was just down.

Great Find this DNS method!

let me explain my experience that it's been stuck with me since GT5 and now occasionally GT6

I have a Virtual ISP which means my internet source is from a local dealer who has control over almost everything, asking him if i can port forward certain ports using my router and he said yes it is doable. i did the port forwarding thing on my lynksis (WRT160Nv2) and some of my issues online were solved, but i'm still stuck with this thing that i'll try to explain in few sentences.

to my knowledge when you are logging into a GT5/6 room online the network starts to scan/connect each available player online with you one by one(in order to display his speed/location etc...), what happens in my case is that some of the participants clash network with me for some reason, and the line of them remaining in a loading state remains displaying and i cannot see those participants cars or even hearing their radio.

In my GT5 days if i log into a room with more than 2 people having network conflict with them the game server would kick me out once it has done loading the entire participants list while in GT6 it keeps me logged in even if i only can see the host alone.
In the situation where i do have conflicts with the room owner (host) i'm unable to go into that room in the first place and it would display one of those weird error generated numbers, i still remember the number 787 or 678 in GT5 while in GT6 its the likes of ( 80028EDxx or something similar to that).

when this happens, trying the obvious never works. example resetting the router or even deleting cash from option menu or going out of the room and getting back in it.

now that i have tried the port forwarding thing and it didn't solve it would you reckon the DNS method would work?

Note that i have put the PS3 on a static IP suggested by the site i followed its tutorial for port forwarding method (picture below) and im using the primary and secondary DNS (2.2.2.10 & 4.5.6.7 respectively) as generated when i do ip config - all in windows cmd or using network information in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.(snapshot below)

Anyone with a suggestion or a method to fully cure this would be highly appreciated. My last resort would be to change the internet source altogether. Sorry for the English.

How is it a router problem when the online was working just fine for 2 months now!
Yes am having the same issue i bet its on Sony/PD end i'll take a break from GT6 for today gonna check it back tomorrow.

Mine was working fine with Google DNS then it suddenly stopped. I was trying to connect all day on and off, changed the DNS to 208.67.222.222 and it worked first time.

Try them OpenDNS addresses.

This is being an issue for me as well.

The weird thing is, my router has uPnP enabled, which should automatically open ports when needed. And it does. At least for every other device. For some reason my PS3 keeps reporting that it is not available when testing the connection.

I can imagine this causing the error, however, why would it start to do so now? My connection settings have not changed a single bit for months - in fact, my router currently has an uptime of over 150 days.

It is when your router is unable to follow the change in ports the PSN Network does. I´m no expert but thats what it basically is. If you have uPnP it shouldn´t be a problem. But there are routers who don´t have this. In this case you need to forward the ports manually to make sure that when PSN changes ports, they are covered and you don´t loose connection. PSN added new ports recently. If the router doesn´t notice it will disconnect. I don´t know if DNS Setting is a router issue though.

PSN Ports:

TCP: 80,443,5223,10070-10080
UDP: 5223,3478,3479,3658,3074-3075,10070

For someone that suggested changing the DNS settings it worked for me with the 8002e5b0 error and my router has the port forwarding option enabled for my PS3. I put everything else on automatic and it worked like a charm. In case someone missed those DNS settings they are First DNS 139.130.4.4 and Second DNS 61.88.88.88.
