Pretty interesting race today. The first half was rather wacky, but things calmed down a bit during the second half which made for a good race to the finish 👍
The start didn't go so well for me, as carracer and litchi both got by me before the first corner, forcing me to settle into 4th. As I mentioned in my previous post, I ended up slamming into the back of carracer going into Parabolica. The weird thing is is that I didn't brake late or anything, yet I closed the gap to Car ridiculously quick. I guess I underestimated the combination of the wet track, draft, and my brakes locking up a bit.
Anyways, the ensuing safety car actually really helped me. I pit to fix the damage, and to change to rain tires. I was planning on pitting for rain tires on the first or second lap anyways, but the safety car allowed me to switch to them without having to worry about losing the pack.
Once we restarted, the track had gotten a lot more wet. It didn't take me long to get by everyone slipping around on their sports softs. Within a lap or two I had passed Adam for the lead. Now I can say that I caught and passed Adam in an actual race
I pulled out an 8 second lead on Green, who also got rain tires during the safety car. At this point, the worst I could have done was 2nd barring any major mistakes or another saftey car. Adam had pit as soon as I passed him, and I'd figure he'd end up catching me near the end even with my huge advantage due to his superior pace.
Of course, the safety car came out on lap 6
To be honest I knew that would probably happen. All of those cars on sports spofts with an extremely wet track... something was bound to happen.
Anyways I began slowing down on the front straight as I waited for everyone to catch up. However, Sagarismic didn't see me slowing down, and ended up slamming into me giving me rear damage (no hard feelings man
). It really didn't matter though, as I needed to pit again at some point anyways.
After my pit stop, I restarted in 10th place. My goal at that point was to keep the car on track, and I ended up getting to 5th by the 3rd caution due to getting by people who had gone off track.
After the restart, I ended up in a 4 way battle for second with Dr., Biffy, and Green. Eventually Biffy and Dr dropped off and Green pulled away, leaving me alone in 3rd. I didn't have the pace to keep up with Green (nice driving 👍), but I managed to maintain the gap between me and carracer in 4th.
Overall, a wacky but still fun race. I just wished GT5's weather was more dynamic, rather than either no rain at all, or a monsoon
Hopefully we can get something more inbetween at Spa... if it's even possible.
, today I got about as lucky as I'll get in a race. Went from 10th to 1st in about 8 laps thanks to two expertly timed (got lucky ) pitstops 
during the saftey car.
