It's only appropriate for me to win a pre-season race with a busted left front. If it was a real race, I would have finished 10th.

Wait, you had damage? I didn't show any damage for you when I was watching?

Race results have been posted. Litchi's is red just to show he didn't really count.

On Lap 18, Gravy got all out of shape exiting T15 (the tight right hander at the end of Fagnes leading to the straight) and I tried sneaking by since letting off meant losing Litchi. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough room so my left front smacked his side at Stavelot. Messed up my steering and boy, after 67 laps at Tsukuba, driving 6 laps with the car yanking to the left all the time was exhausting.

Well, none of the results really count anyways. It's only pre-season so the number of league victories for me is still at two.

Well if it makes you feel better, both Litchi and gravy had damage as well, so you were all in the same boat.

Edit: Replay doesn't show you with damage either...

At least it turned left really well. Rights, however, oy! :nervous:

I can take a pic if you wish. Apparently, I hid the pulling well. :dopey:

Eh, I just find it weird it's not showing for me.

Anywho, I updated the results with fast laps. Had to wait for the replay to play all the way through, since I didn't participate I couldn't skip forward. :ouch:

At the end of the race when I was trying to claw a lap back I ended up playing ping pong with the cars that were on their cool down lap and took heavy damage.

The race was a lot of fun. Thanks for hosting this series.

Forgot to mention, qualifying is now open for Suzuka next weekend.

PLEASE make sure you qualify during the week and before the deadline, which will stand from here on out. Qualifying runs will NOT be run after 1pm EST on Saturday. If you cannot qualify before then, you will either start at the rear of the field (if there is room) or will not be able to race at all. (if there's no room)

👍

Nah nah, it's very hard to keep the car on the track when you have damage and you drive with....a DS3... ;). This is not the same boat at all :D

I had a very good race, very intense. Thank you Jason for the host job and thank you guys for your clean driving ;)

Maybe you should start from the back of the grid and then, quit the race. I think you just need to start the race to skip the laps in the replay then. Not sure, need to confirm ;)

I started out the race pretty good. Had some fun racing with Jwill for a while until I got wide in turn 8 and lost touch with him. I lost it coming out of Les Combes twice and ended up heavily damaged both times so just had to pit. I had fun as usuall though and I'm definately looking forward to getting the season started.

Enjoyed the race last night. Had a great battle Gray Fox for the entire race. What great fun. Closing on the finish I noticed I had a lil more speed in a few spots. Now to get out front and use these spots to stretch a gap beyond the draft and ensure Gray Fox doesn't steal my position. I was lucky enough to make this work an the last two or three laps I spent maintaining that distance.

Thank you for the clean racing man. Cant wait till next week!!!

Race stewards info updated. Added what will happen in case I am absent and unable to host a race.

I want to discuss the pit lane procedures when under a safety car period. I see the potential for some confusion and I think we should expand the language in the rule book:

  • Pit-stops are allowed during a safety car period. When re-entering the track, line up behind the rear-most car in line.
  • If all cars pit under caution, the first car out of pit road will become the "safety car".

Actually, nevermind. I have convinced myself that the rules are thorough enough and I do not think clarification is necessary.

*Waits patiently*

Edit: I was sure that I included everything, although I will make a note about "giving specific orders if needed".

What are the laps times being done at Suzuka?

*Waits patiently*

My concern was drivers not understanding what "rear-most car in line" meant and also the possibility of putting lead lap cars in line behind lapped cars.

Yeah it's not like I'm going to sit there and expect everyone to do it on their own. I just put up a basic list of what will happen in the OP (of the other thread I think) and during said cautions I will instruct people if necessary. So far the two safety car periods we have had, there haven't been any issues. (although only on person has pitted so far)

Don't think many have turned laps yet.

Cool. Well I am glad to be back and can't wait to start turning some laps at Suzuka.

On a personal note, I had a very productive weekend. I finally managed to start a project I had been planning for the better part of a decade.

Thumbs up to whoever can tell me what this came out of:

Cool, thanks.

Hmm... looks like a boxer 6cyl, aircooled... so that would be an old 911?

Edit: Typing as I think :)

I turned off tire wear and ran about 15 laps.. could only manage 2:15.547. More places to go off on this track for sure. I guess I'll be watching some replays.

I would make sure you are testing online, and with tire wear on. That's the only way to get times that are 100% authentic.

Just turned on tire wear. 2:15.457

Nevermind redundant post is redundant.

Going to be interesting to see what the new car does against what we were running in the wild card race last season with the default car. I know me and CSL were in the teens, but can't remember exactly (2:17??). If I could read google docs through the company firewall I'd dig up the S3 thread and have a look. :/

Unrelated... am I the only one that thinks the 2 thread thing is a bit confusing and redundant?
