It wasn't originally, but it is now.

Awesome!!!!! I was having time issues. Birthday tomorrow and had a get together last night and not sure whats going on tonight. Tomorrow Sunday is known as race day. So never make plans. Always spend day on GT5 lol

Anyway. I am looking for a room to practice. If none open will do so and post number.

I can not do this race series. Stuff has come up and I am withdrawing from competition. :guilty:

I was beckoned harshly, and then accidentally stepped on the cord, dc'ing the internet.

Fun while it lasted though.

Had an awesome race. The FPS was messed up for a while but that's nothing a 14 max. grid and turning off visual damage can't fix 👍

The grid starting method was surprisingly exciting and awesome!

Being on the grid lined up by ourselves, starting the race, then seeing every one in the same position just felt awesome for some reason. Thanks for the awesome series Jason!

Here's results:

Yes, LOVE the grid procedure. We ended up just doing two practice races and it worked fabulous both times.

We also had a safety car period because CSL had an off and received heavy damage to the left side of his car along with engine damage. Everything went smoothly with that too, not a single issue. 👍

Regarding the visible damage, I'd personally like it turned off as not only is it hideous and not very realistic in the first place, it increases the strain on the server slightly and the last thing needed is lag in a race with heavy damage.

I rest my case. :sly:

How did you guys manage to initiate the safety car period while racing? Did CSL speak up?

We all assumed the SC option was out of the question. Cowboy asked if we could do a SC period during our race because of a crash with green but green declined. I thought we just weren't going to do it because every one was racing and we had no director to instruct us and watch. That's how the races are supposed to be run correct?

haha, almost Tom. While we agree that it's best to turn it off, it's mostly for FPS issues, not network performance.

Thanks anyway, you're right and so are we for wanting to make sure that was an issue in the pre-season.

Man, I've missed this series. Truly, I think it's the closest and fastest (drivers, not cars) racing you can find. EDT: The self grid was fun.

Just a quick bug report.
  • Frame rates - useless. Just useless. Lap one could have been stop motion animation. I would turn and hope it was at the right spot. I began not watching the track and just counted off the revs of the engine and turned in based on memory.
  • Tire Wear meter increased and decreased. I thought I was seeing things, but sure enough, it went down, then up.
  • Grip came and went as it pleased, sometimes twenty times within the same corner.
  • Don't know how to explain this, but the car would just completely snap loose. That's why I cut the track majorly in two places, as I was basically along for the ride. Felt like the front tires were disconnected from the steering wheel.
  • Lap times were solid, though (none of that lap time glitch).
Had a great race. Somehow made it without any damage. The lag was scary at times, but livable.

Had awesome battles. Loved the last couple of laps when I was trying to drag in second place with Wii. I think we could have done it, if I hadn't suddenly had a massive grip reduction. Basically, I'm glad I practiced drifting this thing in an Orca lounge.

Pit stops - I'm thinking I've done something wrong in my GT5 career mode. Came in with Cicua and Wardez, came out miles behind both of them. Wardez was already working on Eau Rouge. Does anyone know where the Fire Pit Crew button is? They've cost me two races today. Is it a B-Spec feature?

Great race, Adam. As always, spectacular space. For a split second, when NEAPAL was leading, I thought we had a shot at you. Oh well.

I was also stunned when this happened. We came in bumper to bumper, and came out 3-5 secs apart.

I suspect it has to do with the B-spec drivers who take over once you enter the pit. If there is anything in the way, real or imagined, they will almost stop in the pitlane.

Just do not follow someone into pits, and do not go there unless it is empty.

I was watching the races. When I audibly heard someone crash while watching a car near them, I started searching for that car. One of the guys in the back had spun at the same time, but I went through all the cars to check for damage. When I saw that it was CSL with heavy damage, I typed "SAFETY CAR" into the box and instructed the leader (outlaw) to do 50mph. After everyone had caught up, CSL pitted to fix the damage, we had a 1-lap shootout after the restart. All worked smoothly.

^^^ That is how it will be done for EVERY race in the future, just FYI to everyone.

For your race, I assumed there would be no cautions because everyone was racing and nobody was watching the race. You were fine.

Just do not follow someone into pits, and do not go there unless it is empty.

Yeah, pretty much this unfortunately. Especially if it's a tight pit road.

We had worse than that.

Too bad we weren't running the safety car...

Watched my replay had the worst start ever mainly sorry to Wii as he had a pretty good start and I was freaking out infront of him partly becuase of lag. Turn 5 went horrible wrong couldn't judge where everyone was, on exit of turn 7 wardez hit me off :p.
Turn 10 harrison hit me off gave me damage, turn 12 harrison says I spun him on my replay it shows him losing control about 3 car lenghts in front of me ???.
Think lap 5 I braked for the bus-stop clipped the grass then just slid towards mule and cowboy and ended up hitting cowboy, really sorry for that.
Cowboy called for saftey car but I didn't have any damage I just had to stop and take a minute becuase I was so close to quitting lol.
After that I just tried to put some good laps in, really glad this wasn't the start of the season :dopey:

Just to clarify, only the race director can call for a safety car, not the drivers. So if you have a small off and continue, or clip another car and only receive partial suspension damage, don't expect a caution period. I gave one out in the Div 2 mini-race today because CSL had heavy suspension damage font and rear on the left side, plus engine damage. He was bruised up pretty badly.

During the race I have the whole map displayed and I'm switching to different cars to make sure everyone is good. If a car stops on track, I'll see it.

Great race apart from the stupid lag/frame rate issues. Sometimes I just wanna get the GT5 disc and break it in half. :banghead: "Online experience improved" Yeah right PD  I had pace to finish 2nd at least and at one point, I was closing on Aderrrm. Then the car snaps out of nowhere in 4th gear! How in hell is that even possible? Stupid GT5. Oh well, thank god it was just preaseason, hopefully we won't have any issues during the season.

We both braked late into bus stop, I got t-boned, giving me wheel and engine damage.

And that's fine. If it was a normal race and I was looking over things, I would have seen it and announced a Safety Car. Because Wardez was racing and there was no race director to look over things, the D1 race today was to be caution free.

Edit: Division 1 race results have been posted.

Are we saying that the safety car can come out if someone crashes on their own and gets damaged? Really? If it is a multi-car incident where others are damaged due to someone else's mistake, I can understand, but if I crash solely through my own poor driving and bend the car, then I should take my punishment. :)

The way it worked today in our first race in Div 2, meant that CSL was able to pit and have fresh tyres and a fully fixed car, when the rest of us were still out on worn tyres. I know we could have also pitted, however, if I'm honest, I didn't actually see the Caution being called. It was only seeing Outlaw and Erick slowed up before Eau Rouge, I figured we were waiting out of a sportsman's gesture :)
