Division 1 host: Wardez (Paginas1) Division 2 host: Litchi (will-i-am)
Race distance: 150 km - 42 + 1 laps

Vehicle inspections begin at 19.45 for grid preparation, please do not chat during this time.
Field will then line up in qualifying order after a track reset in order to set the grid for the race. (Laguna Seca will possibly become glitched if a reset occurs so we will let the game grid us randomly for the race initially so we will all form into our respective qualifying positions manually.)
Race beings and the formation lap roll will commence.)

A staggered double-file line is used for our rolling start for the first lap after which the race will begin at the start finish line.

( First time pole sitters will be contacted for confirmation of the following regulations)
  • Pole sitter will begin on the left side of the track.
  • Even number position qualifiers will be on the right side lane of the formation. Odd number qualifiers will be in the pole sitters lane on the left side.
  • Once the GT5 race countdown has completed and the race event has begun all drivers must hold position and wait for confirmation from the host to proceed. Use your handbrakes, sit silently, report any suspicious latency between cars or lag jolting/skipping. After the host has given the go ahead all drivers will begin to slowly form up in qualifying order. The leader must act as gatherer, they must not pre-maturely advance from the group, it is their job to keep the pace slow enough until all cars are in position then proceed to formation speed.
  • Even pace at 100 kmh / 62 mph,
  • The pole leader must wait for the grid to line up behind them completely on the start straight before starting the race by applying full throttle at the start/finish line.
  • No weaving is allowed during formation lap.
  • You must not overlap the car ahead of you.
  • Do not pass any car until you're past the point the pole sitter started the race at.
  • Jump starters will be given warnings or penalties depending on severity.
  • If a driver is damaged on formation then the damaged driver must communicate this through text chat and continue at a reasonable speed to the pit area. The other cars will continue on as normal and the damaged car(s) can join the group as they come around for their first lap. At this point the formation lap will continue on for a second lap after which the race will begin. If it happens once more, the same contingency will be applied and a third formation lap will go on. After this, no more "formation restarts" will be acceptable and the affected drivers must either retire or start far behind the group. Drivers experiencing extreme lag will be asked to leave so the other drivers can race.
  • If, for any reason, a driver misses the formation start and stays behind still on the track the race will not go on, it must be restarted to eliminate the obstacle.

I begin the checks in exactly 15mn. Don't be late guys please. Don't be late...

(grayfox and hamilton miss atm)

Every one's pretty much in our room now, just waiting for Minion.

I was just finallising my car choice. After testing all the ones I had I narrowed it down to the 2 Subarus with the 08 faster at some tracks (Nurb and Laguna) and the 03 faster at others (Spa and Daytona).

On ballance im going with the Subaru 03 for 2 reasons.

1. I feel it deserves a full season after me pulling out of WSGTC.
2. It has a more relaxed feel to it and no doubt has better tyre wear.

Do you join D2 room ?

Paging Minion, inspections starting soon.

Sorry guys, i had a problem staying on the track and decided to pull out. Better for everyone.
Since i always have to disconnect my computer from the internet to put it on the ps3, i had to leave the race to reconnect the computer to it.
It was really early in the race and i coudn't stare at the screen with no internet at home for 2 hours.

I don't think it's possible for me to be in a race and not get damaged. Don't ask me why. I don't get it. I was doing good, too, but no, I just have to crash 3 times :/

Oh yeah, and those three GTP_randoms that came in and had a conversation sure didn't help.

I'd try to stick it out, but I've got another race to get to.

I did a horrible, horrible race.

I did so many mistakes that I feel I need to punch myself in the face. I'm an idiot!

Dominating race from Simon.

But team BMW snagged P2 and 3 so I'm happy!

The track was a menace, sand catching half the field at some point.

I did a two stopper and Wiifreak, in the same car (same pace too), did a one stopper and my strategy definitely won out. I pitted on lap 14 and 29.

Alex looked to have P2 bagged for a while, I chased him down as best as I could but he just kept pulling away, really good pace from him, thought he might've been able to even challenge Cicua once his Subie's tires started to kill his pace so much, but then Alex hit the sand in T3 and he got damage, it was lap 14 right before his scheduled stop so he didn't lose that much, but was able to catch right up to Wiifreak by the end of the race and make me worry about losing a 2-3 finish for our little Bavarian team here. Close stuff indeed, every one I encountered raced excellently but if any of you have any concerns with anything that happened on track feel free to PM me.

Cheers

Nice race fellas.

Good first opening 6 laps. I was the first to budge going off. Had to make an extra stop :(. Took out only myself. Made back some time. Had a few great side by side battles. Very clean. Love racing with you guys.

Had the race I expected :) Even afther a 2.4hour enduro on this track, it is still not my favourite. With the exception off the last lap, I did not crash and was on a 2 pit strategy.
In the end I was able to pass Muzz who was strugglin' with his tyres (you see Muzz, there are people who do not drive like crazy, even if you made small mistakes, I waited untill I was sure of a clean pass) Then 2 laps before the finish I saw the leaders appearing in my rear vieuwmirror, I could see they were battling for the last meters, afther corkscrew I looked backwards 1 time to many and got off line, as I did not wanna disturb the leaders, I ran wide, and Muzz was able to pass me again, welldone 👍

I had a nice race, lots of fun, and looking forward to next races. Muzz, we will meet again ;)

I went for the one stopper as I didn't think I could catch you on pace alone, and the one stopper potentially could have given me the edge I needed. Obviously it didn't turn out that way  Next time I'll try to get in some proper practice stints before the race so I'll know how the tires deal with different pit strategies.

Yeah man, but the car's great. Even on really worn tires it's not hard at all to keep planted, such a well behaved little machine.

Yer if you ever see a dude called ENFORCER_98 in a lobby join a different lobby. The guy pummelled me in an Australian series I'm involved in.

On to better things...

I had a lot of fun today even though I hated the track. The more I trained the slower I went. Thanks for some great side by side driving from Paulmac, Trajikone and Racingworld. Very clean and considerate. Hope I reciprocated in kind.

Sorry you lost out Racingworld. I saw the leaders coming too and managed to slow up and let them pass safely. Seems I managed to gain from that due to your wee off. We shall meet again sir!!!

Hard luck Mule. My heart kinda sunk for you when I saw you damaged.

Congrats in no particular order to the 80% of the feild that finished in front of me. :D

Wow awesome close finish! Must've been an intense race.

Ok, going to crash now for a bit, cheers guys.

The suby is a lovely beast. You can throw it around at will and it never lets you down. Except it absolutely burns the front tyres! I knew I had to do 14 laps on a set of tyres, but my quali tune would last less than 10. So I ran 0/10 brakes, 1.0/1.5 camber, 20/80 torque split down from 30/70, and also tried to avoid engine braking, and barely managed. I got ahead from pole and while others had accidents I only had minor mistakes, and in that mood, Laguna just flows. Looking forward to next round! :)

Had a pretty good race except for total judgement fail in the second last lap. Gap to 1st was under 2 sec, was on Z's tail. Muzz had let us past, Frank seemed to do the same but went off on the inside of the penultimate corner - I went a bit wide to make sure he had room for entry or spin, went off for the first time, copped steering and engine damage, and proceeded to make twisted a happy man :dunce: - he was very dogged!

Litchi and Z were having a knock-down-drawn-out-brawl for much of the race. I probably should have short-pitted on the 2nd stint, I think I only got close due to the tussling :P

So much for using results to say the Lexus is too fast, or the 08 Subaru is too slow then, eh?

Nice job Simon:tup: Hopefully I can join again by next weekend.

Great racing. I wish I didn't go off at the left hander after the corkscrew, ate the wall and had to pit on lap 7. But on the bright side I managed a 1'25.6. Very pleased with that. Looking forward to next week. I love Daytona Road.

Yeah I really think we hit the sweet spot with the spec's. Looking back at some of the old WSGTC spec's I can't believe how overpowered some of them were. Lexus and 08 Subie most notably.

But yes, really hope you can join us in Deitona.

I feel kinda stupid asking this, but what exactly is the car selection process we're using?

Just pick what you want :) (it's in the PM Wardez sent on tuesday)

Wardez
It's outlined here:

But pretty much, look at the teams, pcik whatever car you want. Remember only top two scorers make team points.

Thanks for updating the blog. So only one car switch after the first race. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was already wanting to switch after I qualified and saw how may IS350's there were.
