Tuning: Yes or no?

This track likes to make you slide. ;) A LOT compared to Fuji.

Peak power is at 7300 rpm, pretty much dead center between gear changes.

But this car does have a very meaty torque band respectively, So running as low as even 4K won't hurt you much.

I just did some tests, and this car's pretty amazing.
Dead stock, all settings default, except full aero, and top speed set to 249mph, this thing tops out at 207.0mph.

Compare that to GT500's most aerodynamic car, the YMS Supra, which running 498 (+1)HP, tops out at 191.9mph.
Crazy stuff.

It's like PD took the R26B 2.6L quad rotor out of the 787B and stuffed it in there. (I have actually seen an FD drag car with that motor swap floating around the youtubes. :o )

Exactly. Sure leaving it in a higher gear makes the car understeer a bit, but you just slow down that much more. Modulate the brakes while turning in, she'll do what you want. Then you can get on the gas sooner, harder and rocket out of the corner.

Just watch the replay from the view of a car running behind me during the race. You see exactly that. I wouldn't be giving advice if it didn't work. After all, there were no cars in front of me at the end of the race. ;)

Edit: I just snapped a bunch of photos of the race tonight. Will post the rest of them tomorrow, for now here's a preview:

I don't really know what to say to that.
But I'll definitely be trying it. ;)

Basically, anyone that doesn't like their cars to instantly response will likely crash with this setup although I believe the toe settings can be taken down proportionately.

On a fun side note, I experimented and went all the way to the negative on the toe and surprisingly, I could still drive it. It wasn't any faster but tire wear oddly was the same.

Negative Toe? :scared: You are insane dude!! No wonder you make many mistakes. I'll try that for the fun of it.

Another crappy thing about this game, in real life running those kind of toe settings would wear your tires out super quick.

Edit: Picture explosion incoming!

Nice RT 👍

I really need to get in on this weeks race. Was bummed to miss last week but tap-dancing on the pedals for almost two hours during the unexpected Belgian Typhoon totally killed my legs. (probably compounded by hours and hours of lapping Daytona to prep the cars for the 2.4 on Saturday.)

If you want a pro-tip... you're over-sharpening the photos. If you use the sharpening filter don't go overboard as it creates a graining and do it before you reduce the image size to soften the harsh edges.

Photoshop's unsharp mask generally produces better results on computer generated images though. High-percentage (150-200) with low radius (.2-.5) produces the most realistic sharpening without creating harshness. Also best to do it before reduction and use bicubic-sharper when you do shrink.

Honestly I'm no photoshop expert, so I just hit "sharpen" once and leave it be.

Edit: Not to mention Flickr re-sized them.

Yes, it's very much a line-sensitive car and I'd rather have something less bonkers but like I mentioned before, my real car has more steering response than the game wheel. That, and my times, even with the occasional kicking up of dirt or going wide, is better with those type of toe settings, especially after the tires give out.

I wouldn't mind if PD fixes that IF they also fix this overblown aero push that I get.

Nice ones. 👍

You mind sending over the ones with me in it? I might have found some new wallpaper. :dopey:

Nice pics, RT!

Hopefully I'll be more of a frontrunner next week and will appear more on the "press" :)

I wanted to get more pics of side-by-side racing, but everyone was always spread out. :(

Edit: Outlaw, PM me your email.

Such a great colorful field as well. Nice job Jason.

Looking forward to SSR5. Tire wear will be a big factor here, smooth driving is a must because there are a lot of turns.

Ok. Went from power steering on 3 to power steering off 2 and changed my setup accordingly.

That just got me a 1:17.4 although tire wear is, well, since I don't have a reference point, don't know if it's good or not. I was running a 19 flat by the end of lap 6 and the bar was roughly about a quarter down. Definitely will be able to run at least 15 laps with the meds. Haven't tried hards yet.

That's what I don't understand about it.
The negative front toe makes the steering input less sharp, meanwhile the negative rear toe makes the car turn-in sharper.

Like I said, I'll try it, because I've found some awesome tunes I couldn't explain in the past, but from what I currently "know", the toe settings contradict each other.

Huh. Something clicked in my mind. I may tinker with the toe settings some more.

yeah, the only time I find that I need heavy positive toe in the front is when the rears are wearing twice as fast as the fronts and want to chew those fronts up to keep the car balanced.

It really helped the Z06RM for me.
That and some crazy bonkers damper settings. :D

I tried earlier and could only reach the 19's with my current setup. Definitely needs better turn in.

Just to let you know guys I'm struggling to find time for this just now, I'll try jump in the Division 2 race when I can and if there is space. Maybe best to put me down as a reserve driver or something, anyway sorry about this :(

there'll be anyone practicing tonight? i want to make my qualy since tomorrow i'll b very busy.......

*crickets*

I'll be qualifying tomorrow after the Daytona 2.4, and before the Daytona 24h, if someone is around.
