I would like a ruling on what is track and what is not. Anything inside the white lines obviously, but what about the red areas on the left and right side of the Mulsanne straight? And if so, are there other exceptions?

I am asking because Litchi used the red areas in his Q, thinking it has always been ok. Same thing that I did down in the Mulsanne corner :(. Maybe there are other such areas?

I really do not care if they are allowed or not, I just want simple and consistent rules, with simple exceptions if really necessary, so we do not have to bitch about it after the race.

I know that the white line at Mulsane is uncrossable but never known the red areas in straights were prohibited (if they are)...

Honestly with the drafting on this track, starting position doesn't really mean much. And with how hectic it's going to be at the start, I honestly would rather be at the back.
I just don't want to be the one that gets rammed off the track or otherwise lose time and the lead pack's draft because of an incident.

Still wondering on tire strategy. I think it will come down to who's around me.

Yeah, I know what cicua's on about. He's saying that if the red areas are ok, why not the white line on entry to Mulsanne?

I think it's easiest to treat the red track areas as large rumble strips. It ends before that corner at Mulsanne.

Ok, all good.

Wardez: 3:49.870 - clean
Litchi: 3:50.031 - clean
paulmac2k9: 3:56.277 - 3 wheels off track at exit from Porsche curves (Mule that is up to you)

Wardez, did you get my PM?

The rule is no more than 2 wheels off track. Sorry Paul :/

damn I uploaded the wrong video from my hard drive, all 3 seconds. Meh, I'll upload it anyway when I'm home.

and no Steve, I don't have any new messages.

Yeah well done Wardez 2 seconds of nothing :p.

And meh 13th so im not racing again .

Awesome lap Ed!!! You're definitely the fastest guy at La Sarthe in the world. You're faster than Flash Gordan man!!! 13km in 2sec... woooooww

Here's my lap (unedited, includes outlap):

That's the fastest lap I've ever seen.

For nostalgia, I pulled up the LeMans enduro for the Lotus series to see if I could learn anything. All I can say is that if tomorrow goes like that race, next time I see "Endurance, LeMans" on the schedule, I'm skipping it. 👎

This is PURE. Nobody's going to be brake-checking in here :)

Speaking of brake checking, this is a reminder to everyone that if you are bump drafting someone in front of you, please remember to brake earlier than normal so that they have plenty of time to slow down before the corner. 👍

Ah yes the EEARS4YEARS incident 👎. (Also GTP_Johny being a wrecking ball :ouch:)

I hope so. This is what I saw happen to me on the first lap.

1. Started 6th. All but taken out at T1. Dropped to 8th.
2. Freight trained to 12th at the straight.
3. Pushed into the dirt at Mulsanne exit. Dropped to 15th and lost the lead draft.
4. Climbed back to 10th by the end of Lap 1.

Then again, the Lotus was and still is evil to drive. Pulled it out for a few laps to confirm that.

My main concern is aero push through the Porsche curves through Blanche. I've loosened up the RX-7 from qualifying so I hope that's enough.

The car tends to understeer quite a bit on Porsche Curves if you get the apex a little late. Starting at the back, Im just gonna have to rely on the draft and hope I can stay with it. A mistake, and it's all over for me.

It's not my fault if you can't catch the lap, too fast B)

Have we confirmed day-night cycle?
Already practiced in the dark and could only muster a 52. My eyes simply don't adapt to the darkness well, even in real life. :ouch:

If we go forward with this, I'll have to amp up the brightness during the tire change and put it back down later.

I'll definitely have to do the same.
I only tested using the brightness via the quick menu but here at LeMans, even at 1.0, I still cannot see the entry to the two Mulsanne chicanes. :nervous:

Oh, and please lets not start the race at night like with the Lotus series. Just wanted to point that out now. :)

My TV is bright as it is, but I'll have to go to +1.0 just before it gets dark.

On a side note, I had to use the Arcade 2-player mode tonight so I could get a photo with two cars in it for a series idea I have, and I really think that the gray background of the car selection in Arcade mode should be in the GT Mode garage as well.

Looks like you guys are having a lot of fun in here.:)

I am getting to the end of the PURE JGTS season, and no more NFL football starting next week... So I was wondering if it would be ok to possibly jump in the final 3 races with you guys?

HELL YEAH

I mean, well yes, whatever. :)👍

@Wardez great lap, I'm glad this isn't a sprint race or I would vote we hand you the trophy now

Wardez
I don't attempt to drive better than anyone else EDIT: I just do.

Looks like I'll be watching the Super Bowl. :(

Sucks when you ran consistent 52/53's during practice. To crash on your qualifying lap. Turning 8 secs slower then your pace.

MULE:

EDIT: the list shows Paul pulling a slower time but in the race. If Mule is hosting. Then looks like I may sneak in at the back. Oh my someone please let me know.

In typical tradition, I will watch the Super Bowl having no idea what's really going on, just rooting for big plays and somehow attaching myself to a team that must win.

I'm pretty sure Paul is last.
