Yeah, that series came down to whoever disconnected/ragequit the least. :D

I'd rather do Spa than Tsukuba, I actually haven't been in a series that's raced it yet.

Tsukuba has a tendency to end in tears, lack of space means lots of close calls. But we did ok at La Sarthe. And when it works, I like it, better than Spa.

I've thought about it some, and my final decision is that we're sticking with Tsukuba. You guys who don't like it had plenty of opportunities to say so when we were discussing adding it in the first place, but the vast majority were in favour of it. We were able to get through Le Mans without any multi-car incidents, so there's no reason why it should happen here. We're some of, if not, the cleanest drivers in GT5. Sure, there might be an accident or two, but that's racing.

Sorry.. I am sure this has already been covered in this thread, but I am late arriving. I read the OP and didn't see my 2 questions answered.(Though, its possible its there.)

Do we qualify on racing hards or racing mediums?

My freshly purchased RX7 has the Turbo 1 installed. It has an option to use the default turbo. Which do I use?

Qualify on Racing Mediums.

Turbo stage 1 is the default Turbo, so you're good.

Good work, no problem, Tsukuba it is.

So I took the Integra out last night. Cut the power down to 255. Drives pretty much the same, just far less wheelspin and subsequently, better on the tires. Lots of grip, too, and still able to lap Tsukuba at under a minute.

Coulda told you that. ;)
I did a lot of homemade FWD race car making in GT4, and the sweet spot for FF's was around the 220-250HP 1000-1100KG area.
This car is quite brilliant at the base RM level.

Sod that BTCC (300-310bhp) are some of the best handling race cars without alot of DF :sly:.

This is GT though.
Drive the Integra with the base RM on RH's, and then try it with 310HP on RH's and see if you really think it handles the extra power well. It doesn't.

The problem is, there's a lack of forward traction in GT5 compared to real life. This problem is most obvious on FF's, but it applies to any car in GT5,(give or take maybe a dozen) even 4wd's.

This +1000.

Well I was sideways alot in Mules 295bhp Integra series :D. (And was one of the better drivers on tyre wear in it iirc :p)

But ok maybe GT5 ruins it :S.

What a great pairing.. This RX-7 and Tsukuba. Just ran about 15 laps with each compound. Very fast, yet quite easy to handle.

Early times with minimal tuning:
51.5xx Mediums
52.7xx Hards

Would like to know if I am anywhere in the ballpark.

Are you guys shifting at redline, or early because of the Turbo1?

I'm shifting a bit early. However, I'm also slow, so take that as you will.

I try to keep it within 6800-7800 RPM. I can not help redlining it sometimes though, just because it sounds so wonderful

8K is where I shift, sound is better then using the tach, which requires taking your eyes off the road.

Don't worry, I'm a second off as well. I can probably hit 52 flat but Rees is really good at Tsukuba.

Just glad the Tsukuba king isn't here, then we'd all be crying.

That'd be Brosif btw.

Thanks guys for the replies about the shift point. I am never very good at figuring that out. Strangely I started shifting at 8k.. It just sounds right.

@Outlaw and Wardez.. I do like Tsukuba, and I haven't been in any races there in a while. One of the first courses I ever learned thanks to GT Academy. I wasn't that fast back then, but I like to think I have learned a few things since then.

Where is this illusive Brosif... We should get him in here for the race. I think we would all like a shot at the "King." :)

Edit - One more question.. When is race time on Sunday? I see qualifying deadline in OP, but must have missed the race time.

4 eastern, yeah.

Room open for anyone on. I'll be testing a bunch of things personally.

That's weird. Disconnected twice, and got signed out of psn, but the Internet on my iPod is fine.

First qualifying time for Tsukuba:

Litchi:
52.073

The practice races we had around here were insane. You have to be on it the whole time and from just doing 6 laps at 100% wore my arms out. Definitely gonna need to tone the FFB down a click or two, something I've never had to do before.

It is fun though, devilishly.

Page 2 :(

Yeah, this race is going to be very different from everything else. The car is a beast, and I honestly think that it's going to come down to whoever has the best combination of talent and balls. And based on the WSGTC test, we should be able to get everyone in with no problem.
