All races, Starting @ the back of a 15 car pack everytime would be ridiculas, in GT1 it was very handy and gave you a BONUS for coming 1st in qualitfying, So why not?

Offline, it probably won't matter much, knowing how PD set up human vs. AI races. ie. "can you push past 15 cars in one lap?"

In the past this has always been PD's strategy to try to hide how dreadful their AI has been - it's rarely been possible to have a decent competitive race against them. I'm optimistic that the AI will be significantly better (not just faster but more dynamic) this time around and that offline races will sometimes be races rather than obstacle-course missions, so qualifying will hopefully be both relevant and included.

Option for all races

I voted for qualifying on all races, just so that it can suit all people.

For me, it depends on the AI. If they are much improved, then yes I would like to have the option to qualify. But if it is like it has been, I don' think it would be fun to qualify first, and then spend the whole race in the lead. I'd rather come up from the back.

I just think the more options, the better, for the whole game.:)

Yes, for every race. And every race should start from standstill...

That's more annoying than anything. Simple exclamation mark, capitalized and using different size/color/type font are more elegant ways to get your point across :)

THIS!

As to rolling/standing start option- it should be according to the type of race/track and it should sometime be up to the person setting up the race (for online races). In real life racing, almost all endurance/GT races use rolling start. The only few exceptions are F1/GP2/GP3 and Best Motoring's Super Battle.

I would prefer on races that don't have qualifying, the car should be positioned at the start by the cars performance (those Performance points haven't been confirmed). :)

I'd prefer qualifying for all races, but a whole race weekend for the big single races (such as 24hr Le mans). Practice is a great option to learn track and car.

Well we know qualifying is in,so unless it's a GT5p style challenge style race, then I'd think all races in GT mode should have some form of qualifying mode. But as an option and not forced.

Qualifying for all races please.

Qualifying for all races please.

Agreed, lets you know if you need to make any last minute changes to your tuning without having to run to a time trial or free run.

The best thing about qualifying is that you can adjust your car so that you qualify, say, 0.5secs per lap slower than the pole sitter, so, then you know the race is going to be a real challenge. There is nothing worse than winning or losing races by 2-3 secs per lap.

This game calls itself "the real driving simulator"..it needs to have atleast an option to do a qualification

A real race has a qualification and a starting grid (and I'd love ingame grid girls too) :sly:

I'm sure some people like starting at the back and carving the field in 5 laps. But it's not realistic. The faster cars should start at the front. And personally I can't stand it. From time to time it's fine, but that is not my style of racing (strategic racing is). I prefer a race where I can qualify a slower car near the front and battle it out with the leader(s), and one mistake can ruin your race as you won't have the pace to catch up again.
