question about banning

He's still very active on Cwazyworld. Apparently he was racerx510, i knew a racerx510 a couple of years ago,, but it says he only joined last year, wtf?

Pressure from some of the moderating staff caused him to leave, and for some reason they apparently banned him.

Yes. That was it. Pressure from us, on his THIRD ACCOUNT (unless you want to ball in his other accounts too, in which case we're looking at about 7). We're so mean.

I never said the moderating staff was mean, nor am I trying to imply that.

I do however know that it was pressure from some or at least one moderator that caused him to no longer feel comfortable coming here anymore. He may have had other accounts, but I know for a fact his tunervision account was banned because he created another.

At a time I did want him to get banned, like so many other people on this board did, but he's a nice guy when you get to know him. We were all noobs once, he just acted like a noob for a bit longer than most

Yes - he created a new user account because he felt people didn't like him. It was reasonably sound logic at the time - people saw "Tunervision" and rolled their eyes before he'd even posted. The Tunervision account was banned, as there is no need for a normal user to have access to two accounts - and he chose to post from both at the same time...

However, he chose to reference at every available opportunity that his new name - CNG - was previously Tunervision. The allegedly ill-received Tunervision account had +16 reputation points at the time of its termination, but CNG managed -5... He racked up 10 points and two warnings as Tunervision and I presume he guessed we'd forget about them too - but it doesn't work like that.

He then then chose to create two new accounts and used one of them to back up his CNG account in a discussion. These were summarily banned.

He then managed to rack up another Infraction with his new new username - and it's worth a note that each of the Infractions and Warnings and the duplicate account banning were all carried out by different Moderators. For those of you keeping score, that's 80 Infraction points.

If he's honestly blaming the moderators for making him feel not welcome then firstly I'm not surprised he's not taking responsibility for his actions but secondly I have to wonder why he keeps coming back and creating new accounts - as recently as this month.

Quite so - and it's still happening.

Yes, couldn't choose what name I wanted.

Look at the other accounts under my name, most of them wasn't activated. GTP was my first forum I have ever visited, hence the reason why I was so active back then and made so many accounts. Notice how I never logged in most of those accounts? That's because I didn't understand how forums work. Those are the same accounts with 0 posts. After my first post I never logged into any other account, since I understood how it worked.

Couldn't tell what name I wanted, CNG or TuneRVisioN, sorry about that, dumb move.

I'm not blaming you guys at all. I'm truly sorry for all the trouble I caused. I admit to using web proxies to disguise my IP. All this so no one would know who I am, you know? Look, that might be so but I'm sure as hell trying my best now to get on your good side. If I wasn't trying so hard, why did I use web proxies, GTPremium subscription, a whole new Email, CW account (Centro), Orion Forums account (Centro), EVEN T.H.A.(Centro), a site I never went to until now, but I ain't going back since people know who I am now , just to try and be a good member on GTP? I've tried just about everything to work things out. I might as well leave and visit NYC Transit Forums more. I'm sorry guys, ohhh so sorry. I'm not even going to ask for forgiveness, I have had way more than enough chances.
Quite so - and it's still happening.
Lol, that made me chuckle. :)

In short, I am Orion, and I worked my butt off trying to get my reputation up, but I guess it's at a bottomless pit. :guilty: I will never make another account, I swear it, even if I'm banned again, I will just accept the punishment I deserve.

Of this we are aware - it was logged that you had 5 accounts which were not activiated.

Yes - and I've not included the Orion account points...

I'm not blaming you guys at all.

Hence the "if". I can't tell what your position is from what someone else says.

Lol I'm such a bonehead...

Yeah, I learned a lesson from this. It's not the account, but it's the person behind it, if the person doesn't change, nothing will.

Yeah, I should be the one stepping up and letting everyone know what's really going on, instead of using friends to cover me for BS.

So does that mean if you get banned and come back and buy premium you won't get banned again?

Nope. Premium does not give you immunity from the baanhammer.

Just ask MachO... oh, wait. You can't. :p

So does that mean if you get banned and come back and buy premium you won't get banned again?

I don't think he was ever banned, just every time he made another account the old one was banned so he couldn't use them both.

You'd just be wasting your money.

Correct, but I was close to getting baanhammered the other times, still am.

But didn't you have 80 infraction points spread across your accounts? I thought 30 was meant to be a ban.

Yes, but GTPremium doesn't effect the moderators decisions. Just because I happened to have GTPremium doesn't mean that they are reconsidering banning me, would be the same if I had a black username and no icon underneath my avatar. :sly: I can't exactly explain why I'm still here :boggled:, but it can't be because of that. MachOne had GTPremium and was banned...

Shawn you dumb SOB! Stop making new accounts will you!? I thought you were gone for good.... :( Guess you can't live without GTP eh? :p If your having a hard time figuring out what name to use, just use your real name dammit! I can have as many nickname anywhere else, but in the end, I'm still Muzaffar Musa to everyone that knows me. :) Yeah yeah, same old same old I guess......

OK, now that we've all had our say, you gentlemen please take this to PM, so we don't have to ban another one.

Give em a warning.. it will be funny for all of us watching this...

Seriously though, its not that hard to "not be banned" Ive been here a long time and i dont think ive had so much as a serious PM let alone warning or infraction. I belive i had one misunderstanding back in the day over an Initial D thread, where i was linking to the anime episodes in the 1st post, and due to various laws it was safer for the thread to be shut. Wasnt technically illegal, but wasnt the smartest thing to do either.

I mean how hard is it to follow AUP or TOS? some people act like buying premo is a waste because they might get banned... As if getting banned is some sort of chanece or risk that may or may not happen and is out of their control... How people can be asshats time and time again and get banned even after they spent money on the site is beyond me.

I got my infraction in 2006 for useless posts in the brain memory thread, then a week later i got a warning (Not another one! :nervous:) for bumping a thread without checking the date. I've been good since. :)

Looking at the way new members get banned for making useless threads so quickly i'm surprised i didn't get a warning when i first joined.

Very true. As for members wasting money on Premium, it may be that they are that kind of person, however they do not know all the benefits of Premium, or they don't finance it themselves, therefore they make no effort to improve their behaviour even after money was spent on Premium.

I don't think I will be able to get it anytime soon...

I got an infraction today for a 5/6 month old post, feel a bit hard done by, wasnt picked up at the time and im not the only one whos posted simalair things. Or are the mods just running through every thread picking out each bad word?

We wouldn't begin to have time to do that.

What's happening is that the huge increase in posting has led to older threads rising to the top and coming back into active discussion. This is fine and it is what is suipposed to happen.

However, it does mean that older posts that were overlooked now get a second chance to be seen. Certainly, it is easy to miss that a particular post (out of thousands we see every day) is dated 5 months old.

So feel hard done by if you must, but also understand the magnitude of the task faced by the mod team here. Ultimately we're all volunteers and certainly have more relaxing things we could be doing, such as playing GT.
