Question about going to a PS5 from a PS4. Do you lose all Statistics and credits?

I want to get a PS5, Do i lose all my progress and credits if I do? Will I have to start all over? Thanks in advance!

No, you won't lose your progress from what I can remember. All of your cars and credits should remain, as does the career progression, but you will lose any and all photos/replays you had saved. And I think this may also apply for liveries as well, but that one I'm not 100% on.

I would share any content you wish to keep (replays, liveries etc.). I got stung when I switched and lost hundreds of saved races.

Your save game profile isn't locally stored, so it syncs to whatever console you log into. I routinely switch from PS4 to PS5 and back even on the same day.

As others note, some user-generated content does not transfer, but all your progress, credits, cars, and so on will remain.

Made that transfer to PS5 three weeks ago - really everything ( incl. liveries ) has been restored except replays and any kind of photos that I hadn't shared previously.

Installed an additional internal hard drive and moved GT7 to that and lost all my saved custom races. It's been on my list to redo for about 10 months now
