As the AUP states, yes. Space it out over a few years, and not likely, as the infraction points and your attitude plays into it.I see Cosmic got in trouble for using " s**t "...
So I just want to ask if that'll be enough to get you banned, without further ado ?.. Bypass the Filter 3 times and you're done ?....

So GTP9 is the Mod-bot upgrade? But the people making the decisions and discussing the terms are still the same mods we were before.
Its almost like you've read the AUP.If you are going to go out of your way to censor how you wrote the word, you mightas well not use the word.
And we expect you to be leveled headed enough to know that you shouldn't post in haste.Hmm, seems fair. Sometimes I really get pissed off though.
If it's not in the swear filter, it's perfectly fine to use any word in your post. And I think it's important to point out that my biggest issue is not users who have a word censored by the swear filter every now and then - it's those who deliberately go out of their way to bypass it. That's ignoring the rules that we all must abide by (administrators, moderators, premium users, and newbies) and it hurts the integrity and strength of our governing AUP.Can we have a list of words (or a link to them) that will earn you infraction points?
While certain words are very obviously going to trip the filter, it would be nice to know what exactly we can and can not use. There are a few borderline words that some mods may not like. Damn? The acronym for a female dog?
This is exactly it. We're not trying to be prigs here, but we are actively trying to promote clear, intelligent, quality posting. So if the language filter would delete it for you, a good rule of thumb is to just delete it yourself. Find a way to say it that doesn't involve asterisks. If you are going to go out of your way to censor how you wrote the word, you might as well not use the word.
Not pigs, but I DO call you the "Boy with blue" (reffering to the blue Moderator/Super Moderator/Administrator badge)We're not trying to be prigs here
instead ofLook Ma - That's soooo very purdy it's almost unbelievable !
which would be much closer to my real world surprise reply - I should be good ?...HOLY FARK - THAT IS FRIGGIN' AMAZING !!!!1!!
Sorry if I missed this, but why doesn't Cosmic appear in the Banned User Log? Is that not being used with the new infraction system or is it just whoever banned him forgetting to add him to the list?
It's a Temp Ban - 5 days. But Cosmic will be returning with 20 out of 30 points toward a permanent ban... It's in the HRRMMM (or something) thread in the Site Feedback area - Thread is closed...
Somebody didn't update then :Temporary bans appear in the Banned User Log too though (R32Mania, MistaX, Master_Yoda etc).
Somebody didn't update then :
Read it right here....
Thanks, but I read that earlier before I posted in this thread. I wasn't asking specifically what happened to Cosmic, what he had done or anything like that. I just wanted to know if the mod team intended to keep the Banned User Log current.
Ohhhh.. My bad...
/wanders off looking looking for his asshat...
What acronym for *****? There's an acronym?
Yes, a list would be helpful, as I also sometimes use words such as '****' or s*** etc, because its a habit, which I use everywhere because I dont' really like to curse, so I censor most of the word. Would that earn me an infraction?

Because he and Duke are still discussing the matter, and it was a temporary ban. Those two pieces added together means he didn't make the list.Sorry if I missed this, but why doesn't Cosmic appear in the Banned User Log? And for the record, the Johhny Dangerously rule can be applied. If anybody is old enough to remember that movie, it was a PG-rated comedy about Chicago gangsters. One of the characters swore continually throughout the movie, but it was always something like "You farging iceholes! Bastiches!" So the tone of the message was clear but the profanity was humourously de-emphasized.
Slightly off topic guys...
We're discussing acceptable alternatives to profanity, in a topic about the swear filter and infractions based on unacceptable language.Slightly off topic guys...
