Who on this site has the authority to change and edit peoples thread titles and posts. because i had this happen to me awhile back.

Mods, Admins and you (on your threads)...

I figured an Admin but mods having that right sounds a little much, it would of been nice if who ever did it had messaged me just to say Hey im making some changes here. When i come back to find the title comletely diffrent and more added to the 1st post kinda freaked me out

So... You think they shouldn't allow moderators to edit posts? That renders moderators virtually powerless. Like being the Queen of England.

Also, you can see who edited your post last by looking at the bottom left of your post.

Another thread where a member tries to recruit support against the sites powers that be?

Great 👍

They have plenty of other powers but maybe only super mods should have that right not a normal mod. Also theres nothing i can see that said anyone edited it.

i have'nt implied that

No need to jump to conclusions, arora.

Endless: At the bottom of a post, just above the line separating the signature from the body, you should see a green Edit info line. That would've told you who had previously edited the post. However, since you edited it again after one of the staff did, it should say your name.

Moderators have that power, in the sections they are designated. Super Mods have that ability across the whole site. Admins have a few extra handy tools, and their capes are made of only the finest materials.

If you take away the right to edit posts, it impedes their right to delete posts, which in turn impedes the process of giving infractions, and ultimately the moderator has no power.

The terms "Moderator," and "Admin" are just titles, and mean nothing unless actual power is vested into the staff member. And Jordan is the one who decides how much. And my observations tells me that the system works just fine.

 in the very same post above are you not pleading that mod's not be able to change your thread title? If you simply wanted to know who could do it, well, you already have your answer.

I thought that was the case.
Since people seen to be jumping to conclutions and taking my observations as suggestions on how the site should be run then well whatever. Go ahead and close this thread because arguing with Schwartz is'nt gonna make me feel any better.

If you go into the thread options, then select 'Edit Thread', you should see the edit history.

Sjaak actually merged 2 similar threads that had been created on the same topic, then selected a thread title that was much more specific to the event and organized in the similar manner to the game, which makes sense. The original title was a bit general, the new title more specific.

If you're referring to the post about the 650PP British Cars Time Trial event, then the other thread was mine. Your original thread did not include information which was expected by those who frequent the site. If you read several of the posts on the first page of that thread, you will see what I mean. It was not about you but rather the information. On this site, there is a social norm/expectation, if you will, that the original poster of each seasonal event supply a certain amount of information(i.e. both events listed with amounts of winnings, prizes, etc). This information is readily available on us.gran-turismo.com but as a courtesy, the original poster copy/pastes it for easy reference.Once again, the post was incomplete so another thread was added to assist in completing the information. I apologize for my long-winded response.

TL: DR=expectations caused another thread to be posted with the intention of merger by mods
