question from a circuit racer

limited to 374 hp at 1150 kg's on racing mediums

probably going to run max downforce.

i'm thinking about running (after tranny flip) the final gear at 3.070
and running first gear all the way to the left (even tho it bogs like mad at startup i'm not worried about it, just to give me a better launch out of the hairpins, second lags a bit. and for overall tighter gear spacing.

Ok cool I'll tune it later but remember its best to have the final gear at its lowest.
 
Sounds like he's doing a full flip, don't take the final all the way to the right on the first step of the flip, try maybe 3/4's of the way right, play with it so when you get your desired top speed the final is all the way to the left, min.

Are you using any engine tuning parts like a turbo? Also what driving aids if any are you using?

Ok so I came up with a tranny tune for you. I put a high rpm turbo on and changed the oil then reduced the engine power to 374 like you said. I also made the Limited slip differential 60/60/20, this will help with pull. Here are the tranny settings:
1st. Put the final all the way down to 2.5.
2nd. Set the top speed to 193
3rd. Bring 6th, 5th, and 4th gear all the way right.
4th. Bring 1st gear all the way left
5th. Put 2nd gear at 3.800 and 3rd gear at 3.030
And thats it!
I ran this car at the nurburgring with full downforce and stock suspension with 374hp and 1150kg with my tranny and lsd settings and ran a 7:02 and it can easily get below 7 minutes. Also you can stretch 6th gear a little bit if you want when drafting people because I tested it without drafting and it didnt top out at all and I reached around 173mph on the straight.
 
i can't use the lsd setting as the car will turn like crap, but 173 is about 5 mph faster than mine.

did you use max downforce? or default?

i also hit 173 with defualt aero thats why i ask

Max downforce and trust me use the lsd it doesnt affect turning at all all it affects is the engine response time.

Lol!.. Sorry, but go have a look at ANY circuit tune, and you will not find anything close to 60/60/XX.. For ANY high bhp car I use <10/<15/>20
 
LSD doesn't matter for drag racing anyway. And you better don't hurt the LSD on cost of worse cornering.
 
I don't even bother buying LSD anymore.. My guy hooked me up on this new 🤬 and it's sick... Oh wait...
 
i wasn't going to change the LSD anyway.
i followed the directions exactly, and besides getting a wacky set of gearing lines.
i hit the same mph i have been hitting already at 168.
i read it 5 times to make sure.

168 max downforce.
173 default downforce.
 
LSD doesn't matter for drag racing anyway. And you better don't hurt the LSD on cost of worse cornering.

Lsd plays a huge roll in drag racing. You get more pull from it being at 60/60. If you can control the full potential power of a car then you dont need it lower than 60.

I've raced with Dom a hand full of times and the guy is really fast. I don't know if it's his tunes, reaction time, or Internet speed but it's all I have to do to keep up. I wouldn't take anything he says with a gran of salt. Btw I use 60/60/5 in all my cars.

so your saying that slump, myself, and others are slow? why not take what dr slimp says with a grain of salt? and lastly, since that thread about what the lsd truly does, i have NEVER AGAIN touched that setting.
 
i'm not really taking any of this with a grain of salt, in between the argument about the LSD can someone please answer my question and clarify how this guy got an extra 5 mph with supposed max downforce, and even when i follow his instructions perfectly i achieve nothing better? i even have the car broken in providing more torque.

my trans setup,
max downforce- 168 mph
default downforce- 173

i get the same exact results with his trans setup.

they were both setup within the past 48 hours. so both are on the new patch.. i mean i personally think he forgot to max the downforce, but if he actually did max the downforce, and still got that speed. it would be a huge difference in the race i am in.

so basically, i really freakin want to get to the bottom of this.

Please don't put words in my mouth! Believe me if I wanted to say you guys were slow I would flat out say it! I don't know you or slump so how can I assume anything about you but I do know and have raced Dom. I was simply stating that the guy is fast and knows what he is talking about. How do I know you know what your talking about if I haven't see you race. I just stated my opinion and you got bent out of shape. Maybe there is some underlining reason you think I was calling you slow when I was not at all implying that..

Agreed and that's why the words( He's slow or he sucks) has never and will never come out of my mouth. People shouldn't assume anything.
 
LSD does absolutley nothing after hundreds of hours of testing over 2 years. I think I would know.
