HEMI Big-wheel: WIN!!!
MerTaco-Benz: It almost works. if the bumper weren't positively knackered....
5-wheeler: It's actually pretty solid-looking.

The end is near...

When I saw this I was like:

He could've at least done something to the freaking kidneys, or at least paint them black. It looks even sillier the pristine chrome surrounded by all the rust.

BBS's just don't work there either, at least without some modding on them (kudos for not having the center caps on though)

He should put centre caps on before someone nicks the alloys.. serioulsy I like the euro style and all but I don't see the point of having an ugly, old, rusty bumper :S

^hood. Rusty hood. Or Bonnet, where you are.

And I think there ARE center caps there. they're just black. I think so, anyway.

I don't hate the rusted bonnet look, although on that BMW it ruins the look of the car.

I'm here to repeat that you just can't fake patina, no matter how many moronic poseurs try. All you do is highlight your own moronic poseurness.

It's actually fairly easy to fake patina, we do it at work all the time on antiques. What's hard is getting the right chemical mixture and application technique.

On that E46... The wheels I can careless.... but the as for the hood.... Um no... Just No.... NO!! Why did he do that? That does not look good at all!

^^ Erm... no.

It's not a photoshop. I only posted those 2 pics, but the whole photoshoot was about 15 of them. Plus, he's a well renown guy on a forum I go to.

Like said, rusty hood is something that, stupid or not, it's passable on older cars, not certainly the case of the E46, where it looks way out of place and plain retarded.

Luckily, the guy who owns the car didn't do it on his own hood, rather on one that he got hold to. Also, he tends to change his car appearance every other month or so, so the rusty hood has its days counted. :D

I think the rusty bonnet would look good if the rest of the car had been destroyed, but it hasn't so it looks bizarre!

I'd love to modify a 1990 Jag XJ6 in that style.

Come on guys. Seriously?

That rusty bonnet E46 is the epitome of poseur. Like Duke keeps banging on about, you can't fake patina. It looks so try hard. "Look at me in my rat Beemer". Pathetic.

;)

That guy with the rusted out E46 is a major tool. I would make fun of him to his face, and he'd probably get thrown out of our car meets. Talk about trying too hard, jeez.

Is that trying to be a Mustang? Why would anybody buy a car and spend money trying to turn it into a Mustang when you could go buy a Mustang for less?

I'd like to see that parked next to a real Mustang. Just to compare sizes. And engine sounds. I can imagine the situation:
Real Mustang: VROOOOOM (V8 grunt)
Fake Mustang: GRHEEEEEEEE (4-pot noise)

-> ...
What's wrong with it? The rims are a minor exception, but I see nothing wrong with the car.
^ Maybe, he hasn't heard about the Subaru Baja Turbo. Remember the Baja only came out in North America, it its kinda unknown globally. :)

^ Maybe the owner/driver is from Europe. They rarely (if ever) get Mustangs over that part of the globe. And I heard that Mustang-conversions are popular in Europe, so this is not the 1st time I've seen a Mustang-converted MR-2. :)

Fact is no MR2 is ever going to be a real Mustang, not even close without just getting the MR2, binning ALL of it, and making a Mustang. Which kind of defeats the object.

I agree about the Baja...if only North America got it, no-one else would recognise it. that, btw, is a PURE FACTORY VERSION.
