the rally car doesn't have a place where to put the licence plate because it needs the intercooler to get as much air as possible... or something like that

The car in the pic I posted has the holes for the screws to go in and hold the plate in... said holes being on a piece of metal that lets no air through because it's solid.

I'm sure there must be some law that says you're supposed to put the plate there and not on the bonnet.

That looks like the Buddy Club aero kit(notice the word aero, not bodykit), which is used on multiple race level cars, although the Esprit Civic is the only one that springs to mind.

Those are also Advan RG wheels, very lightweight and strong, used on many race cars.

So no, those parts aren't questionable, and have been proven in the racing world.

EDIT: Not to mention the fitment of the parts is very good, indicating a higher quality part, although that doesn't necessarily mean functional, but this is.

Thats not too bad, it saves on wieght and increases aerodynamic efficency, though im not sure its entirely at home on an impreza. Saying that the Jaguar E-type couldnt exactly reach light speed!

All very well but when you consider this is a 'road' car, why put a 'race' body kit on it, it all boils down to that 'practical' word. And besides what use is a kit that low in the UK, a land riddled with speed bumps and high curbs! :)
 
Besides, you can see the driver had a hard time even parking there... not very practical now, is it?

Must be hitting everything.

Maybe he takes the car to autocrosses and tracks. And the car isn't that low, he's parked on a hill to make it appear that low.

The point is that the aero kit on that car is functional and aerodynamic, not just for show purposes
 
The guy probably doesn't use it for anything except commuting, but yours is a good point.
