It probably only drives that low for pictures. Most bagged trucks ride like crap when they are aired out so it's not really a daily thing.

I would say that truck is pretty awesome though.

Because all of us have a load of shale to transport or a trailer of horses to tow daily. :rolleyes: Some of us like to have trucks just because we like trucks. If you want to speak useless in any way, shape or form, look for the truck with the vaunted H on it's nose, where the temporary spare is inside a compartment in the bed and it's primarily front wheel drive..

I sense much fail in this post. You can still tow with a bagged dually, actually you can probably tow more because most of the time they use bags off a semi truck. I've seen a lot of tow rigs at truck bashes that were bagged duallies.

Perhaps I'm biased considering the amount of work that I've done that required a stiff suspension and high ride height. Considering our last truck died carrying a ton of concrete, I figured a truck that low was useless.

StigNumbers: apparently, you've never heard of a pickup being used for Pleasure instead of Work and they don't exactly STAY slammed.

What is the purpose of a truck that can't do what you need it to do? We hardly towed trailers, but we did build a retaining wall by ourselves, and we needed a ton of bricks, and untold tons of gravel, not to mention a rather large quantity of dirt to plant grass. And that's only one project, not to mention the roofing, gardening, the shed, the other house...

I'm sorry, that truck cannot do what it could do, because the suspension has been compromised by the air bags.

I'm not necessarily a fan of a truck like that, but it doesn't look like you're reading what people are saying, the truck is still capable of towing and according to JoeyD the airbags don't compromise the suspension. He's most likely driving with it slammed for the photo op whereas normally it would be riding at a more reasonable height. Plus, if you like the look of a certain type of vehicle (like a silverado HD dualie) then who's to say there's no point. I'm not saying it isn't questionable, just that it isn't pointless.
 
In fact, a superlifted truck (the kind with 6 or more inches of lift) would be far less practical...the hitch would be far too high for most trailers, and the lift height into the bed...you'd need a forklift or team lift for loads you could normally place in there yourself. If it were a workplace, It'd violate OSHA regs. As well, if you're running a 4-link setup with monster-truck-style gas shocks...well, forget it. Those just can't hold the weight without giving the truck a ridiculous rearward rake...unless you carry nitrogen everywhere you go.

Granted, I don't see slammed trucks being very practical in the first place, (Even with airbags, it's usually too nice to actually put stuff in the bed...and when you get that low, you usually have to cut the bed up for clearance, or raise the bed floor.) but, as Joey's pic showed, they can tow.

Air bags do not compromise the suspension for the last time. They typically put semi truck bags on duallies capable of lifting 15,000-20,000lbs. I'll look through my pictures when I get home of laid out trucks towing things because they can do it just as well as a non-bagged truck can. Mini trucks on the other hand typically can't because the bed has been cut.

And I owned a mini truck for years, it wasn't bagged but did have a 7" drop on it. I carried all sorts of stuff with it too with no issue.

I think you might be confusing me with Jetboy.
He's right. To properly address this, however, I see the Ridgeline as not being a truck, any more than one would say the Plymouth Scamp/Dodge Rampage series, which was based on the Omni Charger platform. Wikipedia calls it a Coupe Utility, which is something I'll go with.

But, I digress. I'm reputed to have questionable taste and I refuse to take anything with front wheel drive and a bed seriously. It's like seeing a Cavalier with a towing package. You just want to look at one and go "Why are you." :lol:
