I would never, EVER, drive a lifted truck on air bags ESPECIALLY offroad. That's just asking for an accident.
 
I agree that airbags make them driveable and likeable. But I have seen allot people that just slam

Airbag suspension works great on 4x4 and low riders. Those "slammed" trucks can drive and ride awesome with airbags.

Not many people restore old POS trucks when it's cheaper to scrap it. It's simply not worth it. But it sure can be fun!

Depends on if you are willing to put the money into them as well. I've seen restorers have been getting into the 80s ones lately as well. Even teenagers are doing it. I just followed a build where a 14 year old bought a pile of crap, beat to 🤬 1985 F-150 Flareside and literally rebuilt the entire thing himself all the way from the frame up including paint into a fire-breathing monster. Thing looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Keep in mind this kid has 0 experience prior to building this truck. That should give you an idea how easy they are to work on.

As far as not being worth it, that depends on who you talk to. Being a restorer myself, I'd say they can be worth but it depends on many variables. Parts for these old trucks are cheap as hell.

Believe when I say, I love restorations and doing them too, but it just can't happen all the time. It's not whether you're willing to put money into it, it's if you have money. I'd think that would be the least of the problems since you also need the time to do it and a place to do it. I have time and a place, but I don't have the money and I can't even try to commit myself. Especially when it would be on something there would be no gain to, but that part is just me. Smart kid though, I guess.

I really don't see the appeal of restoring an 80's truck, 70's and prior yes. Could just buy one that isn't on its last leg and repair its condition rather then going all out. Almost a waste of time really when someone would rather do that.

Yeah, restorations aren't really a "profession" per say as one would wish it to be. A man could do it to get some money out of it for himself, but older cars are sadly dying out in modern day's interests. Especially when, no offense, a bad reputation is put onto old Ford trucks for example. Even if it's restored, it won't be of much people's taste. Sad days it has become.

But no hard feelings, I'd restore all day if I could. Seeing what has been something into its old self is a wonderful experience. Good for those cars one has sentimental value for.

Opinions dude. Just because you dislike the paint the rest will follow your lead. Sure, matte paint is unusual on a car like this but somewhat to me, it's neat. It's not that great but good enough for my eyes.

Edit: Since we are in the questionables topic, let's refix this ****. Warning, don't look.
