How do you, or is it possible to make backgrounds in Flash Transparent??

Sorry, animated PNG's and GIF's are your best call. What you can do however, is export the flash movie as a gif. At that point you can have a transparent background. Wheither or not, Flash can export it with a transparent background, you can take other programs and select the different frames and make the background color transparent. Try using a color that will be different than any other color in your project, it will be easier to transform to transparent.

You can infact have transparent flash animations. - Well the background is transparent.

Go File > Publish Settings -

In the format tab check the HTML box. - Then go to the new HTML tab, if it doesn't show up you may have to open Publish Settings again.

From there choose 'Transperant Windowless' for the window mode in the HTML tab. Refer to the diagram for further help.

This should allow you to place flash files in .html documents over backgrounds and the background of the .swf file won't show up. - Pretty cool! To get the coding you will have to open up the .htm file that is created when you publish your file.

Woah sounds pretty good, now if only i knew more about this program and could actually put it in use, but thanks for the help!!

Flash MX, I am 80% sure that it works, I don't remember if it doesn't or if it does. - I'll set up an example later on tonight to see that it works.

flash mx, create a layer, instead of using a bg, use a square, cover it all.

then on the colour mixer, make the colour you want, and change the alpha levels, making it see through.

though if you make the bottom laayer transperant, and noting under it, you wouldnt be able to tell that it is actually see through.
