I've done a search and found that this is not rock solid on an answer. Just wondering if anyone KNOWS before I grab 2 new carz and B-spec the hell out of them to test this?
Thank you to whomever answers this

It depends on your goal. If you are trying to lower PP to qualify or jam in more parts for more HP then, dirty oil can help. It would be interesting to see if there is a permanent deficit from poor oil maintenance vs proper prior to overhaul.

I would think an overhaul would bring it back to snuff though.

I personally do not change oil as a routine till I know it won't hurt, as an oil change is permanent. Most of the stable just sits waiting for the opportunity to compete, beats having go grind gamedays to find a replacement in the UCD for a TT or Seasonal. Cars I use regularly I do maintain. I keep a record in the Settings A tab title. Original KM/Oil Change KM/Engine OH KM/Chassis OH KM - Name of Tune

If your goal is to reach max HP you can get there either way. If you want to run races leaving your oil dirty can lower your PP and allow you to raise your HP during races.

Yeah, my goal was 'max possible'.
I'm very aware of dirty oil as far as helping lower pp, seasonal race restrictions, ect. , but I noticed dirty oil cars fluctuate faster then clean. (The whole pp raising 1point after a race)
I'm not sure, but because of that 1 point b/s, doesn't that give you only so many races before "close" pp cars have to be replaced? Anyway, doesn't matter, lol.
You both answered what I needed, tyvm.

The 1 pp per race "bs" is the engine "breaking in". I have tested this a few times at SSRX (can you say pass out boring!)
Anyways back to your question, All the 0mi. oil change dose is give you a little extra HP to break in the car faster. (my opinion a waste of credits). Just drive 10 laps at SSRX change the oil and you have a full powered car.

As far as permanent HP loss around 8000mi. the cars lose HP that can not be repaired, except for the Car Restoration tickets that are hard to come by. The GT Auto rebuild will not replace full HP.

As mentioned it can be useful to lose HP so... Hope I helped.

Big note: the "break in" only is needed for Dealer cars or prize tickets. All cars from the OCD are broken in.
